I think I heard somewhere that ArcSys games are 3D modeled and animated, but artists go back and add smear frames and exaggerated features to make it animated like that
@@ItsACaptainDan The rig is also stupidly complicated. Like when Sol swings his sword, it bends. There is so much model warping it's nuts. There is a lot of very technical stuff like that to make this 3D came look like an anime. Like the lighting only affects 1 character so this match has 3 independently lit sources. Lots of effort all around that'll go largely unnoticed.
Actually this had much more effort considering the amount of animation work on display here. The problem is that it’s just nowhere near as funny as the kancho one. Comedic timing, sound effect, and even character yells are either too quiet or non-existent.

Faust has (almost) always been the goofy ball of the entire cast. Being a medic that pops out of nowhere, giving you a prostate/gyno exam with his fingers only, stuffing you with an afro... And then hitting you in the shins with full speed because he thinks you need help and all. His backstory is one of the saddest ones, though.

There's also more polygons n bones to support the characters, so it can imitate 2d exaggerated animations.
