Had a lot of fun drawing Stolas being his elegant self, throwing in creative symbolism in this and seeing others' interpretations of the video ♡⋆ ˚｡⋆
MASSIVE thank you to R2, Viv and Zach for their direction on this video. Huge props to Paranoid DJ for their beautiful song! And round of applause to the whole crew that knocked it out of the park, it's so gorgeous!

It's so nice to see the animated notes on the storyboard, just goes to show that each frame is handdrawn, and how much work animators actually put in.
I am so glad that spindlehorse let's you put these out for us artists all to see, it's really cool to know the process of things
Okay so i can not be the only one so happy that they deepened stolas's pose in 1:10 and yeah, the one here is stunning but the deeper pose just felt so much more emoted and i love is sm

OMG ME TOO!! it added so much more emotion and made it that much better in the final animation 🥺
It was also a typlcal owl move for the head to do that up/down bob, which I loved seeing.

I love this storyboard! Aa no words can describe how much I wanted to see wips of this project! Also I would like to personally thank whoever decided to make the bird turn in the animated version during the first “just look my way”, it’s giving massive owl vibes and I LOVED IT

oh yeah I would love to know who it is, I love the subtle head movements he makes during the turn it really makes the scene moving and pretty

This turned out beautifully! As an animator myself, I love getting to see the process behind animations like this (especially the little notes)! The composition of each shot looks gorgeous, and I love all the visual storytelling! Beautiful job on this!

Im an animation major who's dream to work a storyboard artist, this stuff is truly inspiring. I can't wait until I can do stuff like this for shows.
it’s really nice to see that there weren’t too many changes in the final animation compared to this storyboard
most animatics i’ve seen have had some sort of change to the shots as they move but this one was almost perfectly on-model

The choreography was spectacular. Nothing short of a masterpiece.
I'm a Character Layout Artist, which is a fancy way of saying, "second level storyboarder" since my job is to take the boards and put them on model, work out the actions completely, create proper perspective grids, etc. In my job, the boards I get are super rough 9/10 times. These boards, however, are gorgeous to watch in motion. You have such immense talent and I'm so thrilled to see what you and everyone else at Spindlehorse brings to the series!
Beautiful boards, great to see how spot on all the poses and the expressions ended up being in the final version. Even the timing is almost exactly the same as the animatic. Chef’s kiss *

masterpiece of storyboard! this deserves an standing ovation.
Even when you take away the animation and just viewed the animatics, you still get that enticing feeling from Stolas.
In some ways, the storyboards are.. even more beautiful than the finished product. It's the process, and I think it's amazing.

I always love looking behind-the-scenes like this. The music video was absolutely magical, and to see how the magic was made is, in itself, a pretty magical experience in a way too, and makes me respect the final work and the people who worked on it more.

absolutely beautiful!! i know it's been said before, but this is by far one of the greatest pieces to come out of this show!! a personal favorite section for me has to be the circling around Stolas at "let me hold you..." tears and chills every time!! much love!!

So much love for this storyboard, the little notes are that touch that make you comprehend that you give your time and passion in this. How can you imagine this storyboard from the one of ParanoidDJ? There are some differences in the text, but this storyboard is more intimate and warm...and i love and feel an ache at the note "snap at BIND"...you want us to suffer okay 😭

Question for you!
When creating a storyboards like this do you draw the characters or backgrounds first? The backgrounds just in this storyboard are already so detailed and the characters appear to be cut out and placed over the backgrounds so I don't think both were drawn at the same time. Your work is fantastic and I would really love to know your process!
Personally, it depends on the shot I’m going for! If the camera is further from the character (or I already know the camera angle I wanna map out), I draw the stage/BG first. Close up shots I draw the character first.

I Wonder what difference the notes for “easing” makes for animators. It’s pretty interesting
It’s basically me ensuring the animators have him slow down to a pose or slowly build up to the next pose, rather than moving quickly and suddenly. And they did a phenomenal job in the final product 💖
Thanks for this amazing storyboard! At least here Stolas wears his usual clothes, and not the ones he wears in the last few episodes and in the music video. I really miss his old outfit. He looked more noble in it. Eh

The staging, acting and camera direction I board out. The concept of the moon, stars, water and planets was directed to me by R2 and Viv 💖 they gave me a handful of notes and visdev thumbnails to work with and refer to as I boarded all the sequences ✨ one thing I was able to design, however, was the layout for his study 📚 very proud of that one 😊

Asmodeus and Fizzarolli are the best/cutest/greatest/loving couple that I've seen in the show. I love their bond/relationship. They both deserve each other. I'm so glad/happy that they have each other. I still hope if they make a new season of Helluva Boss, I hope/pray that they'll make an episode of Asmodeus proposing to Fizzarolli in marriage, and then they have a wedding, then they are married to one another. I really hope that will happen to them. They both deserve each other and they both deserve to spend the rest of their lives together. I really want that to happen in the show. I really hope that will happen.

I hope they make more episode of Asmodeus and Fizzarolli together. Also, I hope they'll make an episode of those two getting married to one another. Asmodeus and Fizzarolli are the greatest couple that I've seen in the show, and they both deserve to be together and spend the rest of their lives with one another. I really want those things to happen in the show. I hope those things will happen in the show.

Okay it wasn’t you! I’ve been wonder since the video was released who make stolas’s fancy shirt look like it’s a pair of shorts. I think someone misinterpreted your inner thigh lines and put a pair of shorts on him. Cries it distracted me through the whole vide

That’s a design choice I think. He’s wearing the same outfit in the Oops episode, as well as Western Energy.
His outfit is supposed to be like that.
Don’t read into it too much haha. My job is to board out the initial idea of the final product, not to design the character 😅 in other words: simplifying Stolas’s shape but clear to read for the other art departments ✨
