Went there 2019. Tennoji Zoo is so underrated family attraction among tourist. Hope the zoo doing well.

Masks have never been mandatory. But most people wear them everywhere, and most indoor places ask you to wear them.

exactly. i wouldnt care as much if other nations were reciprocal in the way japanese treat foreigners trying to travel to their country, but no, instead japanese can come and go as they like to other countries around the world and not have to be tested when they arrive back, while everyone else is treated like an alien.
