For those who can't figure this out, or are seemingly messing it up somehow, please double check how he fans the cards after layering piles 3 onto 2 onto 1. It's reversed. :) Took me many tries before I figure out what I was doing incorrect. Once I noticed the reverse fan, it worked perfectly. :)

I suggest pulliing out the top and the bottom cards first, because the soulmates to those two cards could be between the top and the 5th card (which is still not a problem since you could stop at the third/second card - depending on the situation - when explaining the trick).

awasome trick if u don't mind setting it up first u can set the king or queen as the 1st 5th and last cards then use the oppisite one of the same design like if the 1st card is a king of spades u could make the prediction as the queen of spades and so on
I know this is a really old video, but to you guys that say it doesn't work, you are probably messing up the part when he spreads out the cards. He does it from right to left (from his view), not left to right. Try flipping the video upside down to see his perspective of the trick.
i caught it in his video one thing you could do to make them not catch it is ask them to fix the piles as in squaring them when ur taking the top pile instead of the bottom

What do you do when the "soul-mate" of the 5th card is in the 1-5 slot, or any of the 3 cards are the soul-mates of any of the other 3? That kind of bad luck would completely screw up the trick, right? How would you play that off?
Where can I get a card pad? My new deck is already not sliding like it did at first and its really new still. But don't have clean places to really use them on. Please help

I'm kind of new at this so I need some advice. Whenever I practice the trick it works out until Pile 1. For example mismag's Pile 1 was the 2 of clubs. I do the trick and when i flip over packet 1 to see the "2 of spades", it isn't there. I sift through the packet and it's always at the top rather than the bottom. What am I doing wrong?
Love your videos! Only thing hard is when you put cards on eachother in several videos (and it has to be in a certain order) it sometimes goes very fast, like in this one, making it a bit tricky to follow. :) But love the videos! :D
What is the card trick called where the spectator picks 9 cards and they pick one card and place it on to tue other 8 cards and u put the rest of the deck on top of the 9 cards...ive been lookn for it cause i forgot how to do it
If this happens, secretly place any card from the rest of the deck in one of the positons between the first and the fifth card, and then reveal your prediction. For example, let's say that the bottom card is a queen of hearts, and the queen of diamonds is at the 3rd position. If you secretly place the 6th card of the deck in the second position, and then reveal the queen of diamonds, the trick will continue normally.

I did the trick correctly a dozen times and thought I was doing it wrong because I didn't catch the fact that, at the end, he turns the three packs over and does not just turn over the top cards of each pile. It was chagrinning me but Now I'm OK with it. I just hope it my audience does not catch me using the top packet of the third pile.
nice trick, but what happens if one of the top or bottom cards were in between the top 5 cards? it means that the fifth card wouldnt be the fifth if u take out that prediction

no matter how mush i try this trick it wont work

When you do the dealing example to get rid of 4 cards and leave the 5th one on top, deal three cards instead so the 4th card would end up on top.
I was practicing this and there is one thing you should watch out for, make sure that the partner of the fifth card is not in the top four cards.

@bighousedaddy usually its considered to be clubs, diamonds, spades and hearts
This one is specially good with it, because you can do with different predictions.
While I had no idea how it was done, I did catch that the last pile was taken from above the card and not below it. Still impressive though!

I'm pretty sure that every time I do this trick the soul mate to the first card ends on the bottom of the deck and the other ones don't even work
