I don't care what anyone says. First energy should have reached out to other states for help when this first happened. For those of you who have power count yourself lucky.
It sure would be nice if CEI would provide a little more granularity about where they are working on restoring power and when those are can possibly expect power. The uncertainty is unnerving..
I think it might be time for government leaders to seriously make upgrading the electrical infrastructures a top priority because this major storms will only get worse and more destructive in the future. We need to better prepare and protect ourselves from future major natural disasters that hit our neighborhoods and cities like it did in this past few days. Be proactive and prepared in case of emergencies. Be safe 💯
Thanks to our great service department in Valley View they were able to work long hard hours to clear everything out of the way to allow the utilities to come through and put us back online this afternoon. Thank you Valley View employees service fire and police
Everyone needs a 5 gallon bucket and a shovel in case power goes out and you have no toilet.get a oil lamp they are $10.00 in Walmart in the camping section.get solar path lights.charge them during the day bring them in at night.
A few charged lithium ion power bricks isn't a bad idea either. Get a solid one for 40 or 50 bucks that can charge multiple phones and flashlights. We had no power, but the cell phone system still worked. Those power bricks were a help.
We should not have to resort to such tactics. First Energy should have updated and reinforced the grid long ago. And I refuse to be a cheerleader for the workers. They are doing the jobs they chose.
Does anyone find it strange that a blind man with a white cane is complaining about the pitch black and not being able to find his way down the stairs and out of the building? And, why is it that nobody has a flashlight? Especially since that function is built into just about every cell phone made these days.
Blindness is a spectrum. Most blind people have SOME vision, but it’s practically useless. Some people see through pinholes, some people can only perceive drastic contrasting shadows. Blind does not mean pure blackness or absolutely no vision at all.
@@giraffe1219 I do actually know that. I have a friend who is blind, but he can read a menu if he holds it about 3 inches away. He can see well enough to walk through a familiar area but to cross a parking lot he takes his wife's arm.
@@BryanTorok yes I did think it strange.but he must be partially blind.i watched a little girl who was blind from birth.but always asked me to turn on the lights.she couldn't see people but could tell black from light grey they said.
This comment is shocking in today's day and age. There's light sensitive blindness, there's pinhole blindness and many many more. A flashlight would be useless for any blind person, they need a source to seek and walk towards to find the exit. They cannot see something by illuminating it with a torch. It's like when you close your eyes and can find the window or a lamp and orient yourself because of the light difference. Emergency lighting is an accessibility issue and a must have on a backup generator for ALL apartments
I Thank the Lord for watching over me my house and yard nothing happened on my street lots of branches but some other part in Maple Hts they have no electricy I feel bad for everyone saying prayers...
Props to these power workers..its is frustrating but these workers are working tirelessly for us..we take electric for granted and only till you don't have it is when we start to appriciate it
we got our power back finally after 2 days. the first time in a year and a half we come here and visit my grandma, a storm fucks us all over. but oh well, we got our power back sooner than others thankfully
This ridiculous , we still without power , they should be better prepared for this . Then we still may have to wait all the way until Wednesday to maybe have power smh
2 and a half minutes in, they said, "so many vulnerable people left in the dark as they wait for the light, like this blind man". WHAT?! Hahahaha. Okay.

They are getting help from other states. Several came over on Wednesday.
Bro they said the power will be back in a week
NO SUCH THING AS LUCK BLESSED.
I live in Parma in-between State Rd and Broadview and the power just came on 20 minutes ago!
Niiice🤌

It takes time for tree crews to do the work. They are very tired, working 16hr shifts for a 7 days straight, it's very dangerous. Be patient.

Maybe they were going on the legally blind definition.

This was a heck of a storm - people with wells and pumps don't have any water either without electricity - the endless hunt for public bathrooms
I’m in Westlake and mine went off Thursday at 10 am. I can’t figure out why since I had it Tuesday and wed . What’s up with that 🙄
Depends on the grid I guess. I heard some people off of Dover Center do and don’t…

Cleveland Public Power still has power out with no updates for customers. No transparency or communication at all!
I moved to Columbus a couple of years ago and I don't like it at all. However, the newscasters/journalists-particularly, Lena, are excellent.
Power is back up for us here in Lakewood - (between Clifton Blvd & Nicholson)
East Cleveland st . Clair
Is ohio still without power?
We had a Tropical storm Hurricane tear Florida up and all of Florida is back on besides flattened areas of 1700 homes. Wtf first energy 😂😂.
Florida is accustomed to weather like this, so they're better prepared.
At least the power company in Cleveland is better than Houston’s 😐

Thank goodness for Generac
It’s a IQ test, lots failed 😢😢😢

How's everything in Ohio?
It took Mike Dewine 3 days to release a statement, what a fucking joke.
2 and a half minutes in, they said, "so many vulnerable people left in the dark as they wait for the light, like this blind man".
WHAT?! Hahahaha. Okay.
I’m really surprised you’ll don’t all have generators 😢😢😢
you’re out of touch
Make my house payment this month n I'll go get one
So we can't even donate plasma here right now I'd say about 60 percent of the city is without power
oh poor baby
When that's you're spokeswoman....U kno u in that midwest homie😂
I have a generator for the well , one for AC and one for fig and freeze
All of them were junk and I fixed them 😊😊😊
Stop reporting 75% of your news for neighboring counties. We need Cleveland news not suburban sprawl news!
It's Cleveland area and they're reporting an area of millions versus a city of hundreds of thousands.
I have tree in my backyard that is bigger than the backyard Rip to my trampoline though
