It's always gratifying to see old dolls being rescued and lovingly restored, even it it takes extra time and some learning of new skills to do so- Well Done you!
I know ,I love to have ago I just hope I’m doing more good than harm 😊the very large doll was a gift but was so filthy I wasn’t sure her face would even come clean but luckily it did .The wax doll is daunting but I am doing what I can 😘💝💗❤️ so thanks so much .😍💕💝
I just love your channel! Here I am with my unsolicited advice again! Your three small dolls are by Hertwig. Your big doll is lovely, any markings? She is also German. Please sew, pin or tape the puff in, pleas don’t glue it! The handle may be cow bone. You did a very nice job with the wax over doll.oil based paint is what you will need to redo her brows, lips and cheek paint. Hair lashes made by paint brush bristles would be nice too or cut down human hair ones, not artificial. The silk can be stabilized a bit by lining it with very thin muslin or museum netting.
Aww thanks Lynne ,I love your unsolicited advice 😂😂,great stuff sounds good to me .yes I did show it the vid but it’s AW with a W underneath I know it was Adolf someone 🤣Actually that’s a good idea as it is in excellent condition .True I never thought of that it very well could be .Thanks I should have taken pics but just forgot .ok do you know if you could use coloured wax or would that not work .😊I wasn’t sure she had any ,her eyes were droopy but your right she would look better with some .yeh I think that’s the best plan overall .Thanks for your advise I do actually really appreciate it .😇🫶🏻🥰💝❤️
Aww thanks ,funny when your looking you never find them ,then u you not looking there they are 🥰🤣thank you I absolutely love it ,it wasn’t cheap but we don’t change our decoration a lot so I thought well why not .☺️x🤭❤️😊💗💗
Love the dolls.❤❤ The baby has the sweetest face. The compact is so interesting and pretty. I've never seen a powder compact that tiny. Wonderful finds. A goat or a sheep could also pull your wagon.😊
Thanks Vicki, she really does ,I know ,I was surprised when I opened it up to find it was a compact 🙂thanks so much ,yes I’m would love either of those just another excuse to go round the antique shops ☺️💗❤️.
@@vickinoeske1154 ha ha I know ,a few miles away from where I live there at about 10 antique shops plus a large emporium 🤣🤣 lucky I know but just to easy to buy 😇😂❤️💕thanks I am so pleased with it all xx😍😘
Hey Debs, thank your for sharing you wonderful buys and fabulous dolls. You have such brilliant ideas. The little powder box would make a fantastic little sewing box. I cannot make my mind up which doll i like best, but the last dolls clothes are to die for. I hope you can save her. That little cart is amazing. Will be such fun with the dolls sitting in it. Lets hope you can find a pony 😍😍😍😍
Aww thanks my friend 💝it my pleasure ,lol thanks .yes I think it will looking forward to doing it .🤗I know they all have there own lovely assets 🤭me too her clothes are just lovely but she is so nice too ..isn’t it ,tactile and old I love it and so will the dolls .fingers crossed ….the search is on 🤭😂💕💝❤️
Love everything you bought, but that wax doll is absolutely stunning! There is a gentleman on utube , he has the grovian dolls museum in America, his name is Michael canada's, im sure if you look him up he maybe able to help with the restoration of that beautiful doll ! She is to stunning to lose ❤❤❤😊

I saw a woman preserving a puppets clothes by lining the original with like new material. She dyed it to match best she could, maybe dye new with tea. See why your keeping her, really pretty!
Oh Deb I SO enjoyed seeing all your gorgeous dolls! Each time you showed one, I thought, Oh she's my favorite. They're all my favorite! I'm obsessed with chinas at the moment so I really loved your new one with the split knickers. Wow your wax doll is so beautiful. You've done an amazing job with her. I don't have any wax dolls. Love the items you bought in Wales. We always think of Wales as the land where common folk speak the language of fairies 🧚. 😂Would love to go there someday. Loved your video ❤️✨
Thanks Dot I just love them ,lol me too they all have such lovely qualities,ha ha .OH gosh me too I would like a Parian doll and some more chinas too. Where do we stop ! 💕🤭🤣❤️.she is bless her she has been through so much a lot of her wax was just falling off or heading south 🤭😳🤣.thanks so much .if you decide to get one go for a wax poured rather than wax on composite they fare a little better . I was so pleased with them ,we we’re travelling home and stopped at a few towns . South wales is a good way from me as we live in north east. ..Really !! Well I can see why it is very magical,Ireland is on my list to visit too when funds allow .🥰well you never know …sell up and travel that’s what we intend to do in the next few years 🤭🥰💕🫶🏻.
Hello, what lovely dolls, Have you ever watched a channel called Irene's Restoration, she restores antique dolls, she repairs and then dresses them in clothes she makes from antique/vintage fabric, it's absolutely fascinating to watch
Hi ,this lady’s name seems to be coming up a few times so I shall have to go and have a look .thanks so much for the suggestion .sounds like a great watch .💝💗❤️
Have you watched Diane's Restoration and Diane's DIY? 2 channels, same person. She's Russian, so some videos are in English and some in Russian. But for a lot of them there's no talking at all so it doesn't matter. One channel is a lot of old crafts and repairing spun cotton and glass ornaments as well as more modern projects. And the other is dolls. She restores composite, paper mache, leather, porcelain...all kinds of vintage and antique dolls with supplies you can easily find now. If you're familiar with products and crafts in general, you can figure out what she's using. She will repair the doll from start to finish. Some are missing parts or even part of the head and she shows you what to use and the techniques, and even making patterns for clothes and using vintage fabrics from clothing, curtains, tablecloths etc. If you want to repair your dolls, I would suggest her videos. She is quite skilled. Both channels are good to watch as some techniques overlap.
Thank you patty ,I will have a look there are some very talented people out there ,I know it’s not easy to work with fraying silk it literally make holes in front of your eyes .🙂I have looked on you tube and I can’t seem to find anyone who has tackled a wax doll but maybe I just haven’t put the right search in yet .I would be most interested if she has .I will look her up and see what if I learn some techniques of her 🤭. Many thanks for taking the time to comment …. 💝😊😍

Lovely dolls Deb. I love the little cart too cute and the dolls are amazing the little ones from Japan💕💕💕 I have busy day tomorrow as it is thanksgiving here in the states so I need some sleep but I had to watch your video first.😂🤣💕💕💕

Could it be that the delicate doll with the beautiful face could be meant to wear a bustle? Maybe that's why her dress is longer at the back and heavily pleated just below the waistband? I have probably got my fashions and eras all wrong though! Please keep her original head. It may not be totally perfect but it is beautiful and elegant nonetheless. You have done a wonderful job restoring her looks.
Actually I think you made right she could be missing an important bit of underwear ,I shall have to look into that .I will it would be a long wait to find a new one that suites and fits .she is really elegant.thanks I have done my best 💗🥰❤️💕
My grandpa had some things from his sister who was tragically killed when she was 19 . And she had a box almost identical to yours. I think it's fabulous ❤
