Thanks Scotty, was thinking that too, so I’ve actually just ordered one and I’m hoping it’ll turn up before Christmas. I’m curious, how do you secure it under your sleep mat ie what kind of mat are you using in a hammock or are you not? Also I might try the down quilt as an under quilt to replace my heavy and bulky synthetic, what are you using?
@@freedom_on_the_trail thanks Kurt, I pushed somebody towards your channel the other day that was looking at the TA. Remind me what your pack and quilt was again please?
@@OutdoorsmanDavethe pack was six moon design swift x (but I just purchased a durston kakwa 55 I’m looking forward to trying out in January when we return to NZ). The quilt was an enlightened enigma (but I will get one from kiwi ultralight the next time I buy new). Thanks for recommending my channel.
Trangia. My favorite cook system. I cant see how a hammock can be comfortable unless you stay on your back and dont turn over or move. Love the vids title.
Pete we need to do something together in 2025, maybe I should see if I can get another pole from Game Gear, you use my hammock and I’ll use your 2p tent, call video “House Swap” and you can see for yourself, what do you reckon?

Hey mate, great video. I recommend switching to a quilt with the hammock - it makes it so much easier!

Another great episode of Cooking with Outdoorsman Dave. 😂. Loved the creativity with the supplejack.

Hey Dave, thanks for telling me about this channel. I've never used a hammock in the bush but it sounds interesting.
@@kevincollins3418 You are most welcome, Kevin, mums the word on my day role 🙈🙉🙊
I don't think we have any birds that bore, those holes are strange. Good luck with the job stuff. Love the prattle.
I’ve seen kingfisher in holes like this but never the boring, thanks for the encouragement
Loved this, thanks for the film 👌🇬🇧
Are you in England?
thank you so much for watching, you must be my furthest away follower?
Is anybody else out there further than England?
Trangia. So much fun, so functional, and silent.
@@waterbourne9282 I’m discovering that
Looks good. Would like to try a hammock setup some time. Looks lighter than carrying a tent and sleeping mat
@@6Fray Well actually no, especially if using an under quilt

@@OutdoorsmanDave To mis-quote you, "Im always up for an adventure with Outdoorsman Dave!"
I could see me & a hammock set up ending very badly 😂😂. Thanks for taking us along with you.
I must admit, it is a tentative few minutes when you sit and test it for the first time. They do have their pros and cons.
Love your work ❤thank you
Welcome back!
Thank you, next up is an overnight in North Island’s highest hut to tidy it up.
cool vid, hey, what size is ur Kea rubbish bag, i have a 6L, do you fine it okay or bigger 20L better you think? cheers
Thanks Jon, it’s the 6l and more than enough for my needs. Bigger better comes with unnecessary weight and bulk.
