I have weakness in my right leg due to stroke. I have wanted an exercise bike for a while but my right leg isn't strong enough on it's own to push down on the pedal. Do the hand levers help with moving the wheel and equal out the power needed to turn the wheel or is the hand mechanism separate to the leg mechanism?
the hand levers do help move the wheel. See if you can try one at some local gym. These do give a great workout, just going a wee bit 'faster' on this seems like it gets really tiring quickly. Lots of people do intervals, maybe 20 seconds high intensity, 40-60 seconds lower intensity.
@@monkeyb1820 Hi, thanks for the reply. That's good to know. At the moment I use a rowing machine, it works quite well because I use my arms more than my right leg but i do want to do more " leg work " aswell. An assault bike looks perfect because I can slowly build more power in my leg over time.
If you're just doing it for cardio, anything is probably better than nothing. I just do 20 to 25 minutes at a moderate speed that gets the heart pumping and body sweating.
Looking to get a bike. Thinking about this bike or Concept 2 bike. Not sure which I would choose between the two. Whichever makes you lose more calories faster... also whichever is quieter and shows you more data on the screen.
really they're entirely different types of bikes. A person can definitely do some intervals on this type, a total of like 5-8 minutes and be wiped out, moreso than the C2 type of bike.
@@monkeyb1820 That’s why I like it. The thing is , I have a rower too and I feel like I can get similar results with that when I go all in for 2,000 meters and less. I also like doing endurance workouts on the bike. It just feels good and it’s fun. It just proves that there’s no one machine that satisfy most of our needs and likes.
@@Marian1st. I have a rower, but not a bike. It did occur to me that the assault type bikes are sort of loud (louder than a peloton for sure, possibly around the same as the fan-based C2). And the assault bike displays don't show all that much, just the digital display for doing time and/or intervals. The c2 can likely join up to some apps that give a more interactive and 'fun' display.
@@monkeyb1820 At the moment I put Assalt bike as last choice. Only because I can exhaust myself on the rower and because I like long rides on the bike. I’m impressed with Nordic Track 27. Love the incline function, the fan is nice too, but the scenic rides are awesome. I prefer those over the overly excited and super motivational Peloton classes.
Great explanation! I wasn't expecting this.
Glad it helped!
Great video. Everything makes sense. Very similar to my treadmill technique. Thanks.
Thanks for providing a high quality video with clear and valuable explanation!
Great video that was helpful for me to better understand how to fit myself to one of these. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
I just got this bike. Your video was very useful, thanks! 💪🤖👊
best video for this information, especially seat position
Glad it was helpful!

Awesome video
Can u adjust the tension?
nice teaching !
3 x 20 secs and im dead
Just bought my fat ass one of these, can't wait to give it a go when it gets delivered
I’d say more so for cross fitters, they can’t be moving so sloppy like you always see. Efficiency of movement is key always.
I have knee pain. Is this bike suitable?
Yeah. Bikes have lower impact on joints
Oh No
How do you change the resistance?
you don't. the harder you push the harder it gets. the whole point of airbike.
Yeah I'm stuck on 10 mins doing 10/20. Amazing workout
I had issues getting onto one lol. If I stepped on the pedal to get up, it would limit the space between my belly and the handle on that side.
That belly will be gone if you keep using this.
which is more intense these or a climber
These
It kill my buttocks , maybe I need seat pad is there anything I can to stop the pain
love mine it's awesome
Still using your air bike? Looking to get one. Not sure if this is the one.
Position is fundamental
