Whoa! Nick Fry on my channel! Watched heaps of your videos man, even watched your dolphin fish catch and cook last week with the crashed drone. You’ll smash it out there off the wave rider mate 👌
You guys are just amazing. i saw all your videos and i learned a lot ! i wish i could Spearfishing 12 months per year ... This is the definition of hapiness for me
amazing video dan, been watching you heaps and you have no idea how excited ive been for this video!! Love these sort of videos talking about species hunting! keep it up🤙🏽
A lot of people now i see are hunting after coral trout species as well, that could be interesting, as there are gun techniques like shifting it around and stuff to make the fish turn.
MATE. I'm probably never going to have this experience and yet I'd know exactly what to do if I did. This video is so informative, it's better than a professional guide.
this is so kool..I need u to make a video on tips for deep diving and how you know that u have reach your limits..I have been doing spearfishing for a very long time and am ready to push my self further down in depths like you guys..
Just recently come across spearfishing after seeing Valentine Thomas on Joe Rogans podcast and quickly came across your channel due to the UK spearfishing videos. I've spent all weekend watching your videos and love the channel and how you compose your videos. I really want to get into spearfishing now and hopefully i'll be somewhere ready for next year. Thank you for the content.
That’s cool man! Valentine Thomas is a great ambassador for the sport. Glad you’re enjoying my channel, where are you based in the world? It’s a great lifestyle to get into.
Nice video and cool scenes! Love hunting mahi mahi, too - but over here we find them deeper and not to much on the surface. Maybe the water is way to hot in the Emirates in summer. Partially we find them below bait fish shoals and around 20 meters of depth, where the water is much colder. It is very true that if one does not shoot when going down for some dives, after, the larger ones finally appear seeing the smaller ones cruising peacefully close to the spearo :) We mostly use reelguns with reels but without floats (less entangling of lines). A little tip: The first spearo shooting a mahi should not pull him up immediately. Leave them around 5 meters or a bit more and all the other mahis will come in to check whats up. Doing so each of us can shoot one in the same encounter.
Hey how are you I am actually subscribed to you and watched all your videos 😂I live in Dubai and I wanted to ask you if you know any good spear fishing spots around Dubai ?😁
Such an informative vid mate, i'm from Perth and our FADs open up in November "2 Weeks" I cant wait to get out and hopefully get one of these bad boys in the boat on film & on my youtube channel too! you always have great info/ great quality vids and keep it up LEDGE!
Hey Dan, I found your channel today and in total I’ve probably watched around 2-3 hours of you lol. You’ve inspired me to attempt to start spearfishing. It’ll be hard for me though because there aren’t many places around me with clear enough water. I love the channel though man keep up the good work!!
Thanks guys! Got to say your batter tips from your last video were game changers for me. Mine always ended up really soggy. Looking forward to the next one.
hi daniel its charlie again i love your videos so much they bring the determination and bring out the depretion i have thank you so so so so much again
I’ve only been spearfishing for a bit over a year and will have the opportunity to head out to a FAD this summer to look for some mahi. This video was very helpful but I was wondering what type of float will I need. Thanks mann can’t wait till your next video
Mahi Mahi!! Man they taste good. HUGE seafood lover although I don't eat many fish however Mahi Mahi and Tuna are amazing! While I never really liked hunting on land I have always wanted to go spearfishing. Sorry fish. Maybe grow fur or something. Thanks for the vid 2 years later!
Good job mate, I have been spearfishing since I was 12. I have neared used a reel gun. My gun just has a a cord collecting the spear gun together My best fish is a 62 lb cobia up at Fraser Island
Wonderful video! If you're ever in Hawaii.. thank you for all the tips. Been freediving here the past 2 years & am hopeful to start spearing! Great respects for our ocean waters. Aloha
Hey i am pretty new to spearfishing i got a mew gun and it has been really diffcult to land a hit on anything, it would be pretty cool if you could show us lets say how do you get used toa new gun in tearms pf accuracy, as i am having a really hard time. Wow, as always an amazing video. Everytime I watch your videos I get inspired to get into spearfishing when I get older. Maybe you could do some collaborations with other youtuber in the future. Like blacktip, Jifgi'n with Jordin and others.
Daniel Mann not spear fishing. In New Plymouth and fish off land. Would love to go spear fishing over here but haven’t gotten round to it. Caught plenty of snapper up the coast but not too many in my home area. Thanks for replying!
Love your work Dan! Especially all the info and tips you pass on to noobs like myself! Thanks for your efforts in your awesome videos! If you ever come visit nz id be honoured if you jumped onboard with us! Much love bro
I’ve got two videos on hunting mulloway if you go back through my older stuff. One on offshore hunting and one on coastal hunting 👌 That should give you a good start.
It could be a California thing, but its definitely a thing in South Florida. They also sometimes school under your boat(not ideal for spearfishing obviously) but they love finding the shade during the hot summers here in Florida, they even sometimes hide under driftwood or debris. Frigate birds are also a possible sign of Dorato as well. None the less seaweed patches is almost a 100% thing here in Florida for Dorato because they crush the little bait fish that sit right under the patch eating the itty bitty things in the seaweed.
Your videos inspire me tp get out and gp fishing love the tips and tricks you give us but would love for you to show us you gear and what you use fpr say shellow deep water and diffrent fish keep up the good work
Hey Dan Absolutely love your vids man, please keep them coming, cant get enough. Ive been out the water for 3 years now in Darwin. Originally from the beautiful waters of the central coast - NSW. Have you dived the North? whats your take on sharks, jellies and handbags? Sharks no prob, but crocs??
Thanks mate, glad you are enjoying the content! There are lots of divers in Darwin, the most notorious would be Rick Trippe. He's been diving up there since the dawn of time. I've dived up the central Queensland coast in areas where snapping handbags are for barramundi but never had an issue. I'm ALWAYS in a full wetsuit so the only exposed place on my body is a little bit of my face so I hope I'd be able to avoid a box jelly or the likes if it was right in my face. Check this one out from central QLD with similar vis to what you'd have in Darwin I imagine ruclips.net/video/GMDA0LLksj8/видео.html
Love your stuff mate. I'm in Queensland hopefully heading out to target dolphin fish for my first time spearfishing with a gun. Can't wait
Cant wait for that vid nick

In the Mediterranean, these Mahi Mahi will actually come really near the shore. Usually chasing some schools of smaller fish.

absolutely stunning... we don't have FADs here but i guess a bamboo floating balsa will do the trick as well. will try that next month...

I'm in the North East of England, close to Bridlington and Scarborough. Not sure what it would be like to spearfish around there, do you?
There was a competition in Redcar last year that yielded loads of pollock,. You’re away from rivers up there so should be quite clean water.
Sweet, that's reassuring. Thanks for the replies and i'll let you know how I get on.

Any float will do the job on the Mahi Mahi if you have a 30m rig line. I’d suggest one of those 8L Rob Allen floats or similar. 8-11L is a good size.
Some great advice all through this vid,

Fantastic video. Australia looks awesome for fishing. Live in New Zealand but don’t have much luck in my area
NZ is the land of big snapper and kingfish! Where in NZ are you diving?
Daniel Mann not spear fishing. In New Plymouth and fish off land. Would love to go spear fishing over here but haven’t gotten round to it. Caught plenty of snapper up the coast but not too many in my home area. Thanks for replying!
You've got to go and find yourself a snapper on the speargun, it's the mecca for them!
Awesome footage, and great tips!!!
Solid info and a great video once again!
Thanks man!
Hey Daniel man 14 years old I love your videos I also love spearfishing do you now any spots in northern nsw
Love your work Dan! Especially all the info and tips you pass on to noobs like myself! Thanks for your efforts in your awesome videos! If you ever come visit nz id be honoured if you jumped onboard with us! Much love bro
Daniel can you give me tips on how to shot a blue fin trevaly yesterday i shot big one and it took off with my spear. The line was cut
Love your vids bro, very informative and full of inspiration.
I'm from Barbados the Caribbean, you have to take down here sometime.
Cheers Stephen!
Hey mate love the video! Would you consider doing something similair for kingfish?
I’ll have to see if I have enough footage!
Love your vids mate you deserve more than 55k subs
Great vid Mann👊
Thanks Kevin!
Great footage.

Great tips
You should come to Malta for Dolphin fish (Lampuka in Maltese) right now it's the seasonal fish. It is also Malta's national fish.
I’ll be in Malta in a few weeks 👌
Straight from Italy. Well done very nice video :fantastic 👍😃👋👏
Grazie Mario!
Awesome video mate! I'll see if I can bag me a few of these beauties on my next dive.
What gun would you recommend for a new spear fisher chasing mahi that’s not a reel since I don’t got money bags
bravo daniel very nice videos keep going
Cheers Pathos!
your facebook account ?
Love these videos, and dolphin fish seemed to be the easiest pelagic to hunt in my opinion
A rock is harder to shoot than a dolphin fish... rocks don’t swim up to you on the surface.
hey, its me again. i watched the vid and have decided to try to spear them since i already know where to find them. great vid & helpful tips!!👍👍
Good luck Marley, be sure to let me know if you spear one 👌

In The gulf of UAE, close to the Indian Ocean, mahi mahis tend to dive deep and you have to dive up to 15-20 meters to shoot them.
Hey Dann, slightly off topic - But I need your advice on where to find big Jewies around NSW
I’ve got two videos on hunting mulloway if you go back through my older stuff. One on offshore hunting and one on coastal hunting 👌 That should give you a good start.

Nice shot bro...😀👍 I like it and subscribed.

Have one of the guys shoot one and the rest will come check it out and you can choose the big ones
Great video. If you dont have FAD's where you live Mahi also love being under seaweed patches!!
Never dived offshore seaweed patches but I imagine they would love them. Is that a Californian thing?
It could be a California thing, but its definitely a thing in South Florida. They also sometimes school under your boat(not ideal for spearfishing obviously) but they love finding the shade during the hot summers here in Florida, they even sometimes hide under driftwood or debris. are there some types of fishes banned shooting like coral fish? it would be great if can make a video about the fish cant shoot
Depends on each country and area within you are diving. Coral fish doesn’t mean a lot to be honest, that covers thousands of fish.
What would be the recommended gun size
Hey Dan

Thanks man! It’s a 120 that I made myself.
Daniel Mann, nice!!!
Hi Daniel mate - are there any sharks out here, encountered any, and what was the risk management strategy to protect yourself?
No fences in the ocean so sharks could show up. I keep a speargun between me and sharks.
How do you have the courage to jump in when your that far out? and when do the FADS get back out?
Don’t think only do (as my Italian friend would say). They normally get out back out in spring but check the fisheries website.
Thanks Daniel, Great Video and I will check the site.
Nice video
awesome stuff.
