    Make sure you tap the breaks before gear rotation. It reduces the amount of gyroscopic pressure on the main gear from the rotating mass of the wheel and tire. Saves your gear legs and motor

    One thing to keep in mind based on your commentary regarding avoiding traffic by being on an IFR clearance: ATC does not provide separation between IFR and VFR traffic in class D and E airspace. If you're in VMC, it's still see and avoid. Sure they will try to provide traffic advisories, but that's all.

    I have taken a fair number of (usually cocky) ATP's flying and historically they have been by far the worst pilots I have had take the controls of my plane. They generally lack feel for what the plane is doing., the nice thing about my plane is you cannot break it, it will break you first.
    Enjoy the ride Eric as the learning curve will be steep and fun. Very good decision on putting the cameras away for the initial stages of this.

    • @JollyRogerAviation
      @JollyRogerAviation  Год назад +1

      I was thinking about that as I’ve been asked it’s as sensitive as the F-18. My answer is it’s actually more sensitive but it makes sense. You’re comparing hydraulic actuators to direct cable linkage. There a delay and dampening with an actuator that you just don’t get with cable/pulleys.

    • @R1Kyle
