I am sure that a personally tailored package can be created that is more competitively priced. This is more like a subscription service. It could even include switching between ships.
Yes, that is similar to what Super Mario does on Royal Caribbean. He usually stays on a ship for months at a time and works to block out a cabin. But, they still have to book it as individual cruises.

World cruises 3-4 months long can be around $30,000 to $40,000 for an inside, depending on the cruise line, based on double occupancy. Luxury cruise lines can be more money.
If I was to do this, I'd move from high tax DC to Miami with no state income tax, and a vastly larger number of cheap cruises out of Miami, compared to Baltimore, a short train ride from DC. I would take a lot of mostly MSC Cruises if I was trying to minimize expenses and try to stay on one ship, and the same interior room (like Super Mario) and change cruise lines when it makes sense.
Living on a cruise ship full time you have to have money, when you get older it becomes a problem, medical, care, and if you really get sick you could be stuck in a a country that could charge the world for your medical expenses, Insurance companies won't like that idea to much risk, its only for rich people!

I you are a digital nomad that gives you more time to get your work done without having to worry about grocery store trips, cooking, cleaning, and whatever maintenance you home needs over time. No dealing with misc car maintenance, car washes, etc. Want to find a place to chill? Well, you will probably learn pretty quickly the places that people tend to be at which times on cruise ships so I wager you will find peace most anytime you want (outside of your cabin). Want to socialize, walk 150 feet from your cabin and go do some group activity. No need to call people to try to get folks together. You just leave your place and within 1 minute or two you are in the thick of things. Then, of course, you can be going all around the planet, depending on the cruise you happen to take. Seems like a pretty great ROI if you ask me.
