The Full Monty by Charlie Rietz: raising the level of surf journalism right here on Brucifore Surf Reports is Charlie Reitz as he recounts his epic never-to-be-forgotten ride starting at Supers in Jbay.
Place of Dreams
Ndawo Yamapopo. As endorsed by the Credo Mutwa, is the Place of Dreams. Is Jeffrey's Bay. Is Baia do San Francisco. Is St. Francis Bay...all the same place.
Where dreams take place.
Like Charlie Reitz's surf dream, Charlie might not have believed it was true either. If not for technology and networking, Charlie may have woken the next day not believing he had done it. For that state of mind known as flow to surfers, easily distorts and bends reality any which way it likes. When you are in a state of flow, nothing else comes into your focus and without the usual flurry of things to remember and associate with, memory dumps can happen.
And they do. Many a surfer kicks out of a good wave and can't remember a thing that just went down.
Technology
A stopwatch might have been touted as proof of a 4-minute ride by many a loudmouth. But nothing matches today's tech for proving or simply recording a point.
And so when two clips were matched up to be the same wave, Bruce went looking for a third angle. The SurfCam. But it was not to be as of yet.
And so we stitched the clips together with a substitute shot of the Point at maximum velocity. That clip leads into the last leg of the two-kilometre ride.

Nah I'm calling BS. Maybe he got down to lower point. Maybe a little past the sand bags at a stretch but not all the way past Albatross.
Look at your placeholder clip and the size of those closeouts and explain how he made it past there. Nah didnt happen. He's never surfed Albatross maybe he doesn't know where he finished.

@@Tman-ww2zm I'm not a kook bru, I once caught a wave from Kitchen windows to the bottom of point, I mean I still couldn't make it to Albatross but it was like 4km! Was the biggest day of the decade bru. My legs weren't even tired cos I just rode it bru like all relaxed.
The entire point from top to bottom is only 2 kms pal so how do you fit that in, and yes are a kook for not acknowledging simply a good ride by a fellow surfer. What is your gripe exactly? This is not Bruce BTW, this is Sean Lange and I am really interested in your grief at someone else's achievement. Please educate us all some more...tx Also how you got from Kitchen Windows past Boneyards? All relaxed Bruh?

We never beleived either so its understandable...he came in at the Albatross car park so he surfed past Goldies as Jomo videod then through Zimbos in front of Mervyn and Shunas spot and into Albatros...ok Albatros closes out and white water can wash you along somewhat but still came inat the carpark...noone was lost...Sean never got your irony strange to say...or was it sarcasm...say what sir??? Sean got it a bit wrong...Zandra Melvilles first clip was from Lower Point braai area showing Charlie coming from Coins Tubes Pubes and Salad Bowls which was original name of Outer Point... Kurt Mariano got to. 8 houses past Lower Point and was washed onto front lawn of i think Brad Davies house...Pierre Tostee claims Albatross according to Steve Sawyer...but then Pierre Tostee once asked in the Billabo g offices who wants to see Bruce Gold in Zigzag and got struck by lighting
