God how I miss it all, after a lifetime of being around it. The freedom of being in the middle of nowhere, the sounds of the huge tractors. The feel of the power in the seat. To watch the earth roll before your eyes. It is too bad we have got to get old!
Awesome video I love watching you guys do this stuff haven't seen many vids lately keep them coming I wanna see you guys put the tracks on part 2 please
me and my grandpa been working on his d8 2u and we're stuck in a bind here, we need new clutches for the tracks and the transmission and for the front cable blade, also we are in need of new injectors and a carb for the pony motor and we could use a new magneto and I'm having a really hard time finding parts for it, can anyone help. is caterpillar able to look up the specs of the parts and manufacture new parts or is there anything we can do, we only have 1 and no other parts for it, and no one around has any that we can buy parts from. we need it to plow 40 acres of trees and brush and the road is getting blocked up and its hard to get our trucks in even with 4x4 and low gears, we can hardly get a dump truck back there so we need the dozer asap. if anyone knows where I can get these it would be very greatly appreciated

would have been a good lifestyle new machinery isn't the same not even close to the feel of operating and old machine they are so much more alive
Papi really like these old dozers. It's awesome to see somebody maintaining historic iron!
Amazing and wonderful machines, beautiful, keep them alive and keep them going, they do not make them like that anymore.
You make it look easy -- nice work -- I just bought 1958 IH TD18 with low hours
Would it not have made more sense just to put more tension on the idler?

I liked it very much, great video.
great job keep up the good work
I have not seen that done before thanks for your video.
The way that front wheel bobbled at the end, I guess it needs new bearings!
We just happen to have a spare front idler to swap that one out. Once that is fixed we can button up the tracks.
canvids1 hyi
Was the turbo added to the D8?
The turbo was optional from the CAT factory.
Pretty slick, so will you roll the old one onto the other track, just to keep everything in one piece?
Yes, that's the plan.
Nice vid I love the dozer vids u should do more on working on them
Nice video!
that front idler looked a little loose at the end!
