Last B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak Tournament Was Insane!

Crooked Lake was the last stop for the Florida B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak Series (South Region). Went into this tournament not expecting a whole lot but just wanted to qualify for the state championship. Ended up doing a lot better than anticipated which got me qualified!

There's two good trails here in Florida. FKBT (Florida Kayak Bass Trail) and Florida B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak Series. Unfortunately right now the season for both trails has come to an end till Sep/Nov then they will start back up again.
I will make a video this weekend explaining the steps in detail on how to get going on either trail.
It's easier that way to explain and will help a lot of new people!

Any pointers on working your drag on a bait caster? Do you crank it as tight as it goes and let line out using your thumb?

I don't thumb the line anymore. I find my self either loosing fish because I let too much out or my reel will backlash cause I don't have full control over it.
I usually tighten my drag all the way for a good hookset and depending on how big the fish feels, I play with the drag settings as I'm fighting the fish. Seems more effective in my experience. Ill probably make a video on it going more into detail this weekend. Thanks for asking!
