  • An aerial video flying my sub-250 gm camera drone on a beautiful calm spring morning starting from near the entrance track to the National Gypsum (Canada) marine terminal at Wrights Cove, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. We first filmed the CN 511 locomotives 5779 and 2547 alone, entering the facility and then backing out of the facility with the empty ore cars. Once they stopped at the switch on the mainline we drove to Windsor Junction to catch them there on the way to the mine. We then headed to the Milford mine site and filmed then entering the mine. Finally we headed to Sandy Cove on Shubenacadie Grand Lake and filmed the loaded gypsum train returning to the port marine terminal facility,
00:17 Workers leaving the locomotive to switch the track from the mainline to the siding.
00:54 Stop the locomotive on the siding so that workers can put the EOT device on the end orecar.
02:02 Arrive at the marine terminal facility where gypsum is loaded into the ore carrier ships.
02:26 Train backing onto the mainline.
03:17 Train stopped at the switch to the mainline and I land my drone.
03:25 Catching the train with empty ore cars at Windsor Junction on the way to the mine.
04:21 Flying at the National Gypsum (Canada) Ltd mine site, Milford, Nova Scotia.
05:52 Loaded Gypsum train returning to Dartmouth, at Sandy Cove on the West side of Shubenacadie Grand Lake near Oakfield Provincial Park.
Filmed with my DJI Mini 2, a sub-250 gm weight camera drone, on May 25, 2022. Edited with CyberLink PowerDirector 20. I would like to thank MicoGhost TheOldCodger / @micoghosttheoldcodger for supplying his LUT file, which I used in PowerDirector. He created this LUT to make the Mavic Mini footage nearly match that of his DJI Mavic 2 Pro. It also improved the colour of my Mavic Mini 2 footage.

Many people ask about the sound in the title clip of my video. It is the call of the Common Loon (or Great Northern Diver), a bird that inhabits our lakes and I sometimes hear and see flying over our home. For more information see en.wikipedia.o....
