😥 that time won't be back again... but their echoes will sound forever ... echoes of an era when giants settled the earth...

My dad loved 2 things: high speed locomotive trains and the Basie Orchestra. Now I see why.

Frank Foster - Sax solo on Jumpin at the Woodside, The Late Great Sonny Payne - on Drums hammering it out on Old Man River. And that is Freddy Green on guitar.

sorry paicefreak, but i think only you and Buddy Rich believe that...BR was great beyond measure but the, 4 guys drlluc mentioned are right up there with him too... Anyway, what the hell's the difference?? They are all great, and this is not the Olympics. It's Music. People can argue over who's better, Willie Mays or Mickey Mantle? I think it's a waste of time arguing over great musicians... Respect to all of them from that era...they don't make em like that anymore....
