Tim Duncan knew the glass better than Windex!
Aye this the one right here
Straight BARS and put that on a shirt with your name on it!
Damn.
😂
Tim Duncan sponsored windex
Tim Duncan played 19 seasons and his team never won less than 50 games in a full season.
And .750 winning percentage in strike or lock out seasons
Tim would tear up wilt and Russell. Idk if Bill even scores tbh
@@arturosalinas7657tears up the greatest athlete of all time? Please sit down and stop with the drug use.
@@arturosalinas7657Google definitely can help you understand that Bill definitely scored, he was the best on his team and during his era.
He only won twice he wasn't tht grest just a stat padder @@Anthony-df2ez
I'm with Reggie. Cmon now. 5 rings, 20 seasons of 50 plus win seasons. Dismantling the heat with LBJ at his peak. Amazing team mate and person. Top 5.
“Dismantling the Heat”? Weren’t the Heat and Spurs 1-1 in the Finals?
@@Fakename70Yeah but the 2014 finals were insanely close and the spurs would have won if not for the Ray Allen three
I think most people have tim duncan top 10 but sure i can buy his case for being #6 or 5. But i would say magic, kareem, lbj and Jordan have better resumes. Sure Duncan is 5-1 in the finals, but he also lost in the first round to an 8th seed (grizzlies) or to the always under achieving clippers.
Edit: interestingly thinking basketball has magic below Duncan but they have shaq, Russell and olajuwon above him.
@@Orto4956 Many other factors besides the Allen 3 changed/decided the course and outcome of game 6. People who love to busy themselves with the “Ray Allen saved LeBron” comments always ignore that SA had a double-digit lead after 3 quarters, but Duncan never scored in the 4th. Miami won by, what, 3?
Where was Duncan while MIA was closing the gap? He’s an all-timer for sure. But, the fact that the guy continues to get a pass from history for the 4th quarter of the 2013 Final and for Team USA 2004 is quite interesting in comparison to the heat - no pun - that a certain player from the winning team in 2013 and his 2004 Team USA teammate gets.
@@Orto4956didn’t happen.
Tim Duncan is so underrated. 5 rings vs kobe lebron era. Man give him some respect
Would've been 6 if not for Ray Allen
Got one in Jordan era 2 my boy dnt forget that
Timmy got 5 rings with 3 FMVPS, 2 regular season MVPS, ROY, 15x all defense that shit wasn’t Kobe’s era that shit was Timmy’s era😂
@@NK-mr3rhthey shared an era just like LBJ and Steph did, which isn’t a bad thing. Shows actual competition existed, can’t say that about 70-90s.
@@lawrence5466not in Jordan’s era. You wrong right there homie
What hurts Duncan in these conversations is his calm, cool demeanor. If he was more flashy and flamboyant, he would always be in these conversations.
End of discussion. But people will deny it till they're blue in the face. Same thing is happening to Jokic but people are trying to make it about race. How, when BLACK Tim Duncan was the blueprint of the overlooked small market star.
@@LembeckIsStaying Agreed. Duncan's Spurs are what kept Shaq and Kobe, amongst other things, from winning more titles. Yet, somehow that fact gets overlooked.
@@kingzoro6058how do you figure Duncan stopped Kobe and Shaq from winning more titles the last 4 years they were teammates they were in the championship game and their first win in 99 Kobe wasn't ready yet Kobe's when the Lakers were truly good they won the Spurs have nothing to do with that
Sad... but True.
@@LembeckIsStaying Jokic has won the MVP 3 of the last 4 years, and Duncan was ranked 9th all time on the NBA 75 list. Very few people are underrating either.
Just because one or two talking heads dismiss them doesn't mean the majority are in agreement. Learn to tune them out.
Tim isn't even worrying about it. He's about raising good kids now. This is memories he can reminisce about when he is interviewed.
Sounds very Tim Duncan, great player and a great man 🙏
Reg is absolutely right. If Tim was a huge personality he would always be In the conversation.
i think him being a humble non-flashy guy actually boosts him. he’s rightfully in the 4-7 range in GOAT convos, you can show a player love without throwing them into the literal GOAT spot
Larry Bird is probably the best powerF . but Tim Duncan literally on a good day could be him
@@nicholasrodriguez594 Bird was more of a small forward
True ,the media doesn’t like quiet guys
He was right until he was wrong saying stupid stuff about Bill Russell lol
Duncan played for 18 years and made the playoffs 18 times and never had a losing season. If not for a Ray Allen game winner he'd have the same finals record as MJ....5-6 is still crazy. I think he's the reason Pop is considered one of the greatest coaches in sports history lol
People forget he played with 4 hall of fame players throughout his career too. Winning a championship is a team effort.
Mj never lost a final correction
@JamesHaynes-ye8bt yes I'm well aware I'm not sure what you thought needed correcting, but I obviously was Talking about Duncan losing to Miami Heat putting him just 1 ring behind MJs perfect finals record
Tim played 19 years not 18
Why lol at the end?
Tim Duncan stopped Kobe and Shaq in one era, and then prime LeBron and Miami LeBron with the big 3 over a decade later. Dude destroyed two dynasties in two different eras. Give the man his respect.
That’s why he in my top 5 n Bron not 🤷🏾
Testify brother
Tim Duncan wasn't even the best player on his team when he played vs. LeBron. Tony Parker was the best player on the spurs during that playoff run, and the times he played vs Miami, it was a team effort more than him just dominating. They gave the FMVP to the man that guarded LeBron, not Tim. People forget he played with Robinson, Tony Parker, Ginobli, and Kawhi. 4 Hall of Fame players.
Kobe stopped Duncan without Shaq . When Timmy had Parker and genobli . The Duncan that stop Shaq had Robinson too in 03 loaded roster . Kobe was 23 . Stop acting like this was the Kobe ysll most know lol . In 02 kobe averaged 33 7 and 7 vs spurs which we won a ring . Duncan rings came when Kobe didn’t hav a team tbh . Which is why Timmy never won back to back . Kobe did twice . Gasol averaged 13 ppg in the 08 WCF and Kobe still beat Duncan 4- 1 . It’s not even close if u have two teams that are the same Kobe teams wins every time vs Duncan . Because Kobe scores and closes games . We can’t compare bigs and guards , makes no sense
lebrons a joke
I agree with Reggie on this one.
Reggie pissed because he didn't win one and he knows for a fact how important it is to a players legacy. Why are they playing if not to win championships? At least for players like Reggie. Duncan was a missed lay up away from a 6th title. During the period in which he played, only Shaq and Kobe were just as dominant in terms of skill and winning.
1,000%, he’s Right!! What are we doing here 😮😮
How? Magic isn't a contender for the best ever, and he won the same amount of rings as duncan with more mvps, duncan is a top 10, maybe even top 5 player, but he isn't in the conversation of the best ever.
I don't agree with Reggie. Teams win championships, not individuals. Jordan for example archieved NOTHING without Jackson and Pippen, was swept by Celtics twice in round 1. When it comes to championships, how about Sam Jones 10-0 in finals? Or Robert Horry? 7 Championships with 4 different franchises? Championships are a team archievement.
In my opinion Wilt is the GOAT. So many records that never will be broken. For example: Wilt scored 40 ppg average over a stretch of 515 consecutive games. Rank #2 in that category goes to Elgin Baylor with 33 consecutive games scoring 40ppg avg. Wilt also averaged 25 rpg for those 515 games. It's not even close.
@@spaltersar he won the dpoy scoring title and steals leader without Jackson, stop making it as if jordan wasn't the main driving force on their team.
It's true that individuals alone don't win rings, but they sure do the lion's share of the work when it counts.
Jordan forced his teammates to become top players, and without him not one of them was better than when they were with him, and that's a statistic based fact.
They argue here, but Mark Jackson and Reggie were great teammates. So fun watching them play together.
You can not doubt about the greatness of Tim Duncan compared to other legends with exceptional prowess. His legacy is colossal and hardly any power forward could ever surpass such accolades.
I totally agree, and i also agree he is underrated. However to name him as goat is delusional. First off mj. Second, while he is an all time geeat and likely rop 10 for me, it is hard to name a good case for him being the goat, including him not being the best player on his team in the finals multiple times.
If Tim Duncan played for A Major market they would literally put this man in the GOAT conversation. He literally put a small market team on the map and held that franchise to Standards. Truly miss Timmy D in a spurs uniform
Tim Duncan has my absolute respect as a Lakers fan. Definitely one of the greatest to ever bless the court. Consistent on every level of his game ...power forwards need to study his game for sure
Tim Duncan career is so Great that many people hal·lu·ci·nate the career of other Forwards. The Spurs won't see that kind of performance for about 10 years.
Forever
I'd take Tim Duncan or Kevin Garrett over Karl Malone anytime
Tim Duncan is the Nas of the nba. Great but underrated because they not loud and flashy
Great analogy!
He has the same personality as Kareem Abdul Jabbar too. They go up the court mild mannered acting. Like gentle nice fluffy teddy bear type of people....😂🤣😭😆😆
What??? Nas is not underrated. He is a legend in the rap game. What a terrible analogy 🤦
@@user-xl7fllol neither is duncan. I think its more about the quiet demeanor
@@well.thy.one. I never said Duncan was underrated. Can you not read?
Tim Duncan is my favorite player of all time 5 rings people forget he's top 5 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Somehow I think I trust Reggie Miller's opinion more then Mark Jackson's. Heck I trust Cheryl Miller's opinion more then all of them.
Because something wrong with ur Brain.
Cool
Thanks for sharing
Do you have one of your own? He seen the same things you can.
Reggie was only going off championships which is a team accomplishment. Jordan was giving the Celtics 40-60 points yet most people don’t even realize this. The best of the best conversation should never be about championship but your impact on a daily basis to the game.
Tim best power forward
I agree with Reggie. I always said people forget about Tim Duncan and how great he was.
Tim all the way
D😊qadqqdq
Ohhh come onnnnn.Tim Duncan is a Legend. A Legend. And greatness does include trophies 🏆 of every kind, it show you can carry your skill all the way....
I fully understood Regie there. His criteria is the number of championship won on their leadership especially if you're the sole reason why you won the championship. It's a team effort but if someone extorted more than anybody else you'll be the best player in that team then you win championship. 🔥
MARK JACKSON WASN’T PREPARED FOR THE ARGUMENT LOL
Los Angeles, California, U.S. According to former teammate Billy Cunningham, "The NBA Guide reads like Wilt's personal diary." Chamberlain holds 72 NBA records, including several regular season records in scoring, rebounding, and durability; blocks were not counted during his career. Chamberlain held many records: he scored 50 or more points 118 times, 60 or more points 32 times, and is the NBA's all-time leading rebounder with 23,924. Points Leaders
RK PLAYER PTS
5 Michael Jordan 32,292
6 Dirk Nowitzki 31,560
7 Wilt Chamberlain 31,419
Wilt was the strongest guy and best athlete ever to play the game." "He was just the opposite (to Kareem) in terms of stamina, just tremendously strong. He could play 48 minutes, suck down one of those giant 7-Ups he used to drink during games and play another 48."
Wilt Chamberlain to Michael Jordan: “The difference between you and me is that they had to change the rules so I couldn't dominate. They changed the rules so that you could dominate.”
Duncan is one of a handful of players that a legitimate argument could be made for.
To qualify to be the GOAT, you have to have a healthy combination of individual accolades, team success, and longevity.
Tim Duncan was a beast!!!!! He would be on my first team no matter what he got around players so easily, he was like butter!
Timmy iz the goat of power forwards n did hiz when 3pt shots would have got him benched! Made his living 18 ft and in!!! Footwork impeccable # Unparalleled!!! 7'1 inch frame waz UNFAIR 2 DEFENCE!!!💯💪🔥
Tim Duncan was unstoppable in the paint
Reg & Mark going at it - reminds me of the old Indy days
I think I agree with Reggie yes greatness is measured by Championships! I never seen wilt or Bill play but their resumes are Godlike!!
FACTS REGGIE!!!! Mark Jackson Change the criteria to win the argument...
Russell & Chamberlain were centers not power forwards. Duncan is the great power forward, but laughable to call him better than Chamberlain the most dominant player ever and the greatest athlete the NBA has ever seen.
Power Forward not Center. Wilt is the greatest Center of all time, Duncan is the GOAT Power Forward, no PF in history can sniff his total body of work. Malone is the closest second, but still not close with Tim's full resume.
It was only 11 teams when Wilt played
hardson8782 Kareem is the greatest center kid its not even close
I agree. Wilt would clean the floor with him head to head. Wilt obliterated Russell head to head. Wilt just had a weaker squade than Russell who played with 5 HOF players.
@@jonnyblayze5149 No sir, Kareem is the greatest player of all time (not just center, Jordan is second), no ones resume is close with everything he achieved in college and pro career. He is the true GOAT that stands alone that did it at the highest level in college and pros. I challenge anyone to put his resume and Michael Jordan's actual stats side by side for both college AND NBA and he is equal or better in every category accept steals.
His skill was on another level compared to most guys, even compared to Jordan.
Tim Duncan was an awesome player.
He came he saw he conquered. No record sales just a goddamn monster.
If you know you know
Big facts Miller
Reggie is wrong. Duncan has 2 MVP’s (not 3). He has 3 FMVP’s & 5 titles. He’d definitely a Top 10 All-Time player, but closer to 10th than he is 5th.
Closer to 10th?!? Are you serious? Except for LBJ and MJ (maybe Magic) who is better than Tim? Maybe Olajuwon but he is definetely closer to 5 than 10
@@francescoveltri3954
These players are ALL objectively better than Duncan.
Jordan
James
Abdul-Jabbar
Chamberlain
Bird
Magic
Shaq (peak value; career is super close)
Aside from that I’d say you’re right. Olajuwon is right there. I’d rank him around 8th that’s why I said “closer to 10th”.
Tim Duncan quietly became one of the greatest of all times. No flash just win so no one wants to give him the credit he deserves.
First off, I thought that Reggie made it clear at the beginning of this video that they were discussing the greatest power forwards. Wilt and Russell were centers. Duncan is a top 3 power forward for sure. With the accolades included I wouldn't argue that he's #1. I gotta throw the two Kevin's in there in Garnett and McHale. Certainly, even without rings, Karl Malone and Charles Barkley were unstoppable beasts. Moses Malone was top shelf in his prime as well. Let's not forget about Dirk Nowitzski. A top 5 PF. That pesky worm, Rodman. He had a next level energy as well at the power forward position. As a 51 year old basketball fan, I thoroughly enjoyed watching all those legends.
Tim was NICE
The man raised his hand everytime he committed a foul
U the man Reggie, Duncan did it very quietly night in and night out.
I do agree Duncan is way underrated. He's one of the best players to ever play the game. That being said he's not better than Bill Russell and Bill Russell was by far the best player on his team. As well as the best player of that entire generation.
Bill Russell the greatest, player, coach, and center of all time! The Championships speak for themselves!
Duncan is top 5 ever for sure. My list is Jordan, Kareem, lebron, Duncan, shaq
Tim Duncan is Fundamentally the best player to ever step on the hardwood.
Thanks you Reggie for pointing out to these fools that Timmy is a G.O.A.T
He’s the best power forward to play the game, hands down
People talking about the GOAT generally can't keep a standardized criteria. They just want it to end with who they think is the GOAT (MJ, Kareem, Lebron, whoever) and they don't want to admit that their pick is not undeniable
Bill holding a handful of rings hits different.
When I met Reggie Miller in the RCA Dome I didn't know who he was. My friend had to tell us we were talking to an NBA player.
Tim trophy case is crazy he definitely top 5 im judging by accomplishments
Russell made a comment that implied he wasn’t even the best player on his own team. He said John Havlicek was the best all-around player he ever saw.
He probably is the best forward to ever play! He’s only slept on because the guards are the cream of the crop
Wasn’t Nobody Better than Bill on those 11 Championships and Wilt still ones All the Records it’s About Skills and Could they Stop u Reggie sounds Crazy
Duncan top 6 all time..for sure...FOR SURE!
Did I just become a Reggie Miller fan? Never thought I'd see the day
“I could name you ten other players…”
“Who?”
*thinking to self, “Oh no…now I actually have to list some other than MJ and LeBron…”
People do forget about tim Duncan
Respect to TD. Spurs vs Lakers was a huge rivalry to make it to the finals.
Bron is the best PF period. I don't like the guy but skills are skills. Timmy is definitely in the top 5. Arguably second as an individual. But let's not forget this is a team sport. Timmy is a beast
Russell was more respected because of his defense than offense
Tim duncan is underrated big man.. if theres a chance to play one on one tim duncan vs. wilt or tim vs russel whos gonna win?..
It’s not that people forget it’s that the Media only focuses on one person and compares current players for sales.
Reggie joining the history rewriting crew on Bill Russell
Mark what are we playing for,if we're not playing for championships
Tim Duncan is a center. So tired of people calling him the greatest power forward. The only reason he ever played PF was because they already had David Robinson. He played center a majority of his career.
I have a top 100 ready to geaux! Here's the top 11.
1. M. Jordan
2. K. Bryant
3. K. Abdul-Jabbar
4. L. Bird
5. E. Johnson
6. T. Duncan
7. L. James
8. H. Olajuwan
9. S. O'Neal
10. B. Russell
11. W. Chamberlain ⚜
Russell and Chamberlain 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Duncan is ahead of Kobe. He was more dominant than he was in that era. Simple
Reggie: "Robert Horry is one of the greats - he has 7 rings!" 😂
You judge greatness by championships
tim was a beast!!!!
If it wasn’t for Ray Allen shot Tim would’ve had six rings just like MJ he does get forgotten in a lot of debates 💯
People try to use the no back to back titles to diminish Duncan, but will gladly gloss over the fact that Kobe had LARGE gaps of team mediocrity from 2003-2008 & again from 2011-2016.
Rings is where you start the judging
I love Reggie he was the reason I was a pacers fan growing up. The Celtics (yes I'm Irish in New England) started beating that ass at the end of Reggie's career which made me turn into a Paul Pierce and Celtics fan (for life). Reggie is so wrong on this one. Interesting note Danny ainge wanted to sign Reggie for the 08 Celtics championship. Reggie being Reggie said he wanted to retire a Pacer. Still wish he would have signed and retired a champion
Tim also played 4 years B4 going pro. Imagine that....🤔
Mark couldn't wait to hate on Tim Duncan. Tim Duncan did it on both ends and led his team to five rings. Name one Bill Russell move😂
I didn't even know Cheryl Miller's little brother played basketball.
Michael Jordan was the greatest ever before any of his rings so yes, we are not judging by rings.
Timmy was insanely good
Reggie spitting some facts
I can see why people don’t want to hire Mack Jackson
I dont get how people consider Kobe possibly the best but dont consider Duncan given how they competed with prime Lakers
Preach Reggie top 5 top 3 in my book
Timmy, not bad for a swimmer. He turned out to be pretty good.
TD 100% and I can easily Think of some amazing power forwards that played the game. At the time, the Spurs was just a mid tier team at best. That all changed with Tim
Tim is a quiet assassin 🤫
Its crazy though like what more you want from Tim
That bill statement was facts he averaged 15 points and played great defense plus the scene was him and wilt and he still didn’t score more then bob Cousy or wilt
Ray allens shoot not only saved lebron but ruined duncans finals record. If he was 6 and 0 he would be tied second for most rings since the nba-aba merger only after robert horry.
One thing is fs. He greater than lebalco beating the flopper twice even when he's old
I just can't put him up there. I just can't. He had an awesome coach, a great organization, and awesome players to compliment him. He even played with David Robinson for a year or two.
Put him on a team with scrubs like Olajuwon when the rockets won their first championship then we could see what he could do.
I struggle with Wilt Or Olajuwon being the best players of all time. Olajuwon would have been better than Lebron if he was given the chance to be a ball handler / the point shot taker.
Especially in today's league.
Tim is my GOAT
Reggie could of pumped up Tim without bringing those guys down come on man
Tim Duncan is better is top 10 all time no question! The list goes from one to ten.
Jordan
Kareem
Bill Russell
Wilt
Kobe
Larry Bird
Tim Duncan
Magic Johnson
Hakeem Olajuwon
Steph Curry / LeBron James tied for 10th spot
Tim Duncan is 1 Ray Allen shot from being 6-0 in thr finals
Tim Duncan is great for his generation
But not in the same level with Wilt & Bill
