  • Very few people get the chance to go to the top of an offshore wind turbine. But with 360° virtual reality video, everybody can.
To experience the 360° view, just use the cursor on your display or watch by moving your tablet or smartphone. Safari does not yet support 360° virtual reality video. Use Firefox, Chrome or Internet Explorer instead.
In 2017, we divested our oil and gas business to focus entirely on renewable energy solutions. DONG Energy became Ørsted - as shifting our core business to renewables meant we had outgrown our name originating from Danish Oil and Natural Gas. Am i the only one who thinks this is terrifying beyond any reasonable measure?

Hi can you do a 360° video showing us what it would be like being strapped to one of the blades whilst rotating at a moderate to high speed?

      Hi Derek
I don't think that would be possible for safty reasons. I would also imagine you would get really dizzy by watching it 😊

do they all have lifts in them?

Hi MatthewThank you for reaching out. In general, turbines above 2MW all have a lift. Hope you
      enjoyed the movie.

Hi you call it green energy but they are really bad for the environment to build and transport, also will the turbine ever generate enough energy to make the money back that it cost to build ?

      Hi
As in any other production there will be some pollution. However, we are constantly working on minimizing resources e.g. by using less steel on our foundations. Also, a report by Siemens shows that a 6MW turbine such as those we use on Gode Wind and Westermost Rough has less than 9.5 months energy payback time. Thus, during its entire lifecycle the wind turbine produces 47 times more energy than it consumes. You’re welcome to take a look at the report: www.energy.siemens.com/hq/pool/hq/power-generation/renewables/wind-power/pictures/epd/epd-swt-6-0-012015.pdf.Best Regards

WIND POWER IS NOT BENIGN. Wind farms are located where there are rivers of wind. Birds follow these rivers of wind when they migrate; wind farms are walls of death for the birds. Since 1970, bird populations in North America have plummeted by 30%, with an appalling acceleration of the decline since the advent of wind farms. Migrating bats are also slaughtered. The exterminated birds and bats fed on insects; they were essential to the ecological systems. There was a species of butterfly that used to migrate from Florida to New England, pollinating crops along the way, Wind farms have exterminated this species, crops are not getting pollinated. Less food for us. Wind power kills, but hey, the corporations are making lots of money!!

Looks like pretty sufficient evidence of a flat Earth to me!
