If you want to slay a sin or an addiction you want to kick then fast, i done 7 days once i doubt I'd be able for 40 days but try it because fasting weakings what ever addiction or sin that has you in it's grasp and your spirit becomes stronger than the addiction and sin and now you have regained power over your body and mind. When you fast TenkU you slowly become in contact with something that is holy (depending on how sensitive you are perhaps). Do keep trying. Like the Sister says, wholemeal bread is very good for you. I drink Spring water with it, and feel so alive. I may have moments of tiredness but they do not last long. I hope this helps you somewhat.

I think that traditionally Wednesdays and Fridays are the days, but there is no hard and fast rule about this, as for example, one might be invited to a dinner or something on a Friday, so one can fast a different day. I do not fast twice a week every week, but only if and when I feel I can, and this ends up being about one and a half times a week. I think it is good to use wholemeal bread - you can get this from supermarkets (in the dry food section sometimes - sometimes called 'rye sourdough bread') or you can get it in health food stores. I used to fast until the next day, but now I am older I fast until 9 or 10 pm, and have a few vegetables or fruits to break my fast. I always feel glad I am fasting, by the way. It purifies me both physically and in my thinking, feeling, too - I will pray for you.

Please remember to take medication prescribed by your doctor to maintain health whilst fasting. When I began intermittent fasting for weight loss and blood sugar control, it was certainly a noticeable difference in lifestyle. As Sister mentioned, after doing this for a while, the hunger is mitigated, and in my experience welcomed. Sincere good wishes to all and the blessing of God.
I had 8 days od drinking Herbs tea only. No food. It was horrible for me. I was very exhausted. But After that fast I noticed that I force myself to eat because I AM not hungry but I cook and eat. Even now I do not need so much food as its was in the past. There is something mysterious in fasting and I want to discover it. For sure my diet has changed for better. I do not have a desire for meat. Vegetables, fruits and some cheese and healthy butters are enough.

Basically when you fast it gives your prayer more significance since you are doing a sacrifice out of love for who you are praying for, depending of what are you praying for, it may take some time but it will never be in vain. I found out recently that I am allergic to gluten, eggs and dairy, and I am also diabetic, I really changed my diet dramatically only eating some meats and mostly veggies, and some berries. Sister, there are countless things wrong in this world, but if two people love one another and want to commit to a faithful monogamous relationship, that is not one of them. That is something we need more of, regardless of how fertile or infertile people are wired and mis-wired in this physically fallen world in which all creation is corrupted, but just morally but also in natural ways. Guaranteed, it will work. That's the flesh's desire & you can have it subjugated to your soul through fasting & prayer. According to Sister, you eat once a day (I guess preferably on sun down or even earlier ) and eat just bread & water. You could start with non dairy products & fast until 3pm everyday either for 3, 7, 14, 21 etc days & grow from there. Good luck.

Since I don't have your booklet, can you (or somebody that REALLY KNOWS) explain to me the RIGHT way to fast, the way Jesus says I should? I'm new to fasting. I haven't done it yet, because I don't know the right way, but I want to incorporate it into my life to get closer to the Lord & to rely on Him for strength
The right way to fast is on bread and water. Thats it I’m afraid, nothing more scientific than that. Any bread that is not sweet cake ! And simple water. Fasting is for Wednesdays and Fridays and its for 24 hours. I fast on those days but my 24hrs spans from 13hrs Tuesday to 13hrs Wednesday and from 18hrs Thursdays to 18hrs Friday. I’ve heard a priest at Medjugorje recommend this method but thats a personal matter and you may wish to do it otherwise. In principal, the goal is to fast for 24hrs. Fasting must be accompanied by prayer. Hope this is of some help and dont forget to drink water regularly.

I don't believe there's a specific instruction on this. I guess you can eat enough to keep you going but how much of a bread would you be able to consume anyway? Enough to keep you going I guess.

My friend said that we don’t fast during Eastertide. Is that true?
You can always fast if you want to depending on your intentions. If you do it out of love for God then I believe that there is nothing wrong fasting on Eastertide.

Since I don't have your booklet, can you (or somebody that REALLY KNOWS) explain to me the RIGHT way to fast, the way Jesus says I should? I'm new to fasting. I haven't done it yet, because I don't know the right way, but I want to incorporate it into my life to get closer to the Lord & to rely on Him for strength
The right way to fast is on bread and water. Thats it I’m afraid, nothing more scientific than that. Any bread that is not sweet cake ! And simple water. Fasting is for Wednesdays and Fridays and its for 24 hours. I fast on those days but my 24hrs spans from 13hrs Tuesday to 13hrs Wednesday and from 18hrs Thursdays to 18hrs Friday. I’ve heard a priest at Medjugorje recommend this method but thats a personal matter and you may wish to do it otherwise. In principal, the goal is to fast for 24hrs. Fasting must be accompanied by prayer. Hope this is of some help and dont forget to drink water regularly.

Means only to eat in morning bread and black tea or water
Later evening night no consumption of food??

I don't believe there's a specific instruction on this. I guess you can eat enough to keep you going but how much of a bread would you be able to consume anyway? Enough to keep you going I guess.
