  • Smiths Lake is a rapidly silting coastal lake of New South Wales Australia. The siltation process is constant and very natural part of the changing coastline of this corner of the continent. Alarmists will advertise the lake is drying up but this is completely false. The sand blows in from the beach and fills the lake bottom. There is very little fall from the shoreline to the middle of the lake because it's the bottom rising not the water falling.
Just like us our planet evolves.

It's silting up and has been all my life. Dry sand blows into the wet area and settles. Slowly filling it up. It's risen 2 meters over the last 60 years.
