He stayed in hell to trash the place for eternity, FOR A ETERNITY as punishment. - Doom guy is literaly PUNISHING HELL because of their agression. - The demons started worshipping, Then after tricked him and locked him in a 100 ton stone tomb, with iron chains and a ton of rune magic just to keep him contained because they couldn't handle him. DOOM 4: - He awakens to reign terror again.. and destroy every fucking thing related to demons and hell itself. 11/10 - Demon Hunters

Instead of Doom #, it's just Doom. Taking the number off of the title was a very smart marketing move. All the kids who hadn't even heard of the original (yeah I know, really hard to believe) wouldn't be set up with the expectation that they needed any familiarity with the old ones to enjoy this one. Id had a weird fetish for slapping unnecessary numbers on games. Quake 2 was a completely different game from Quake 1, Quake 3 was Smash Bros. for Id characters, Quake 4 was a sequel to Quake 2, Doom 3 wasn't a sequel to Doom 2. Thank you for getting away from this nonsense naming convention and just calling the game what it is, Id.
It was also clever because it further made this seem like a fresh start for doom. Instead of just another sequel, I feel like this game rebooted and reimagined the series.

Like 0:26 there's blood, explosions, evil dimension with a giant dead creature, menacing demons.. and then there's Doom guy's opinion of all of that: he's not fazed at all, he just punches that shit in the face. That bit makes me chuckle every time.
I'll be honest, this launch trailer nails it in terms of giving the audience a peak into the game. Big guns, fast movement, kick demon ass; and do it all while rocking out to a fucking badass metal soundtrack.

+silentzorah They're called Summoners, which have basically the same purpose as Arch-Viles. Instead of resurrecting enemies, they summon in new ones. Same difference, really. Still shoot fire, although these ones teleport around. According to the in-game lore, they're an evolved form of the Imp.

You can feel the Love the developers has put into this masterpiece (game of the decade).. It is pure fun and no bullshit. I salute to everyone involved and especially to those who decided to start from scratch after Call of Doom concept.. (you can find some videos of that abomination yourself)
