- 20 November 2021 drag racers from all over South Africa gathered at Killarney Raceway in the Western Cape to prove who is the fastest over 400m. With over 150k in prize money, who will win their classes??
Race SA together with VP Fuels & Gas Magazine held a 5 round series, gathering the fastest drag racers across South Africa, and inviting them to Killarney Raceway, for the finals, to prove who is ultimately the fastest drag racers in the country.

Ralph hitting the nets is proof that A: Killarney needs to be upgraded/lengthened or B: We need a new drag strip. Because if running 8s and below is too risky for the track, then we won't see the growth we want in Cape Town
There was a tail wind on his run, so the shoots deployed but never opened immedietly, or so I believe, and that’s why he went off. I know some people do complain, but my friend with his bike exits at 263kph and brakes comfortably, and they even remove one caliper & disk upfront for weight.
HOWEVER, one problem with 99% of our local tracks, IF something was to go wrong like rubbing a brakeline during your run or whatever, and it causes you not to have brakes at the other end, your completely screwed. So if all goes well, you should be able to slow down, but if it doesn’t, your out of luck. And that SUCKS big time

Return flights, airbnb, car hire, 10 days away from home and my actual job. I don’t think people realize what it costs to make a video such as this, let alone to bring on another person to help with filming at the other end of the track. It sounds simple, but it’s not as easy

To be brutally honest with you, this is not as easy as it sounds. Do you have any idea what it cost me to come to cape town for 2 events, as a single person? Flights, airbnb & car hire alone is 10k. Then I have not enjoyed a single meal or paid entry to one event. Workout living cost while being in CPT for 10 days, you can see where this is heading. I promise you I’m not making NEARLY enough money to cover this trips expense. I am paying about 90% out of my own pocket to go to these out of town events, but I’m doing it for my love of the sport. We don’t make as much from YT as you may think 🤕

Sorry bro my friend encountered some issues with the S1000RR after the final run and I had to go help pack the bike back into the trailer and loadup everything. Spent 12hrs at the track on saturday, from the time we got there to setup, till after prize giving

Killarney is full of 💩when it comes to that. You have to pay, regardless of your RUclips following.

What happened to the bike
It hit the sump right at the bottom of the track and lost all it’s all oil. Thank goodness it was after running the finals 💪🏻
