I LOVED the future nostalgia era, I went to her tour in 2022 when she came here to Chile. I found out about 2 weeks ago that Santiago, Chile was the 2nd city in the world that listened the most to Dua Lipa so it makes sense how many people went to her concert here lmao

I really do think the approach she takes to her career contributes to a lot of her success. She has said she has a close relationship to her parents and family and that they let her leave to London at 15 to pursue her dream. She expressed that the trust they had in her made her want to be as good as possible, which I’m sure kept her focused and on track, as well as taught her a lot of the independent skills that probably helped her cope with the challenges of the job. I also think her dad being a popular musician in Albania gave her some experience with being in and coping with the spotlight. The fame that comes along with this career can be a jarring and demoralizing experience for many, especially when you start so young. I love how she has taken internet hatred and spun it into constructive criticism. She has always understood the importance of her fanbase because she has studied/admired the pop queens and their trajectories since childhood. So she has that strong work ethic/follow through, a good amount of self-esteem/confidence and a deep understanding of how pop works. Future Nostalgia was a transcendent masterpiece that will only appreciate over time and it teaches us that most anything is possible if you figure out the right steps, commit to the work and get over the shame and fear 💕
