  • What's the best intake for the Trackhawk? Well, I don't really know, but in this video I compare for you the aFe intake against the JLT intake that I've been running for almost two years.
    Watch me install the aFe intake on my 2018 Jeep Trackhawk and discuss the differences between the two that I see with reference to intake air temps (IAT), cost, and supercharger whine.
    Not gonna lie, you can tell in the video, that I struggle with this install. I've got 1" Forced Induction supercharger phenolic spacers between the supercharge and the heads to keep heat out of the blower, but they're thicker than the normal spacers offered by FI which caused me some headaches. Additionally, I'm running a Kong 108mm throttle body compared to the 98mm stock throttle body which caused some difficulties with installing the coupler for the new intake. We got through it, though.
    Thanks for watching and coming to the channel. Hope you enjoyed the video. Watch some more, and keep coming back for more FWP content. We will be doing some more DIY type things and builds on the channel. Stay tuned for that.

      Question. When are you suppose to replace the filter? Question 2. When I launch, sometimes I’ll brake and give some rpm, and other times I’ll just mash the gas from a dead stop. Both are safe for my stock TH right? Thanks man love your vids

      1. I usually pull mine out and clean it just whenever it’s looking dingy. Not sure what that recommended interval will be. I guess it depends on how often you drive your TH.
      2. Absolutely safe. For me, whether I preload it (left foot brake and load up RPMs with the gas pedal) will depend on the surface I’m on. If I know it’s going to spin, I don’t load up. If it’s a pretty good surface and/or I’m on sticky tires, I’ll load it up. Either way, it’s not unsafe. I’m running a stock motor, trans, transfer case, and all that.

    Hello, thanks for sharing. I don't have any spacer between heads and blower, but I have the Kong 108mm throttle body. How did you get the coupler to fit well ?

      Man, that was a challenge. I used some lube and a couple of small plastic interior trim tools. I don’t have any good advice for it. You just kind of have to work it.

    It makes ZERO difference. The Legmaker is preferred becuase it works with the cooling system offered by Cortez. Gives u like 3 extra gallons of coolant. For that reason alone the Legmaker is the better option.

      That may be true. Maybe someone will give me a Legmaker to review sometime. 🤷‍♂️

    Not much of a difference, aFe is more showi being carbon fiber, like them both.

      Exactly. Just kinda depends on how much money you want to/ are able to spend and what you want. Thanks for watching.

    I have the 1” spacers. How much of an intake diff would you say there is between those and the original 10mm ones?

    • @FastWorldProblems
      @FastWorldProblems  2 года назад

      Unfortunately, I did several mods at once when I changed from the 10mm to the 1” to be able to offer a valuable comparison.

    What is the purpose of the throttle body spacer?

    bro we wanna hear the whine. not how cool it makes the engine

  • @edgardcolon5763
    @edgardcolon5763 2 года назад

    That filter is installed incorrectly on the box. Isnt going to perform properly because is not "airtight". So you're sucking a lot of hot air from the engine.

      Talked about it in the video. With the 1” spacers, you CANNOT get it to sit the way it’s supposed to.
