    One of the most common exercises for when you feel like your glutes “don’t work” or your knees are caving in during squats.
    Yes they are a nice tool, and yes they can be a great coaching cue for someone that has hips that move well already...
    BUT!
    I do have some beef with it!
    If you have limited hip flexibility, weak adductors, poor foot stability and/or poor hip stability, your issues are probably not just your glutes - always keep in mind that there can be a bigger picture!
    If you’re still working on your body awareness you don’t want to rely on a band to make you do an exercise properly, or accidentally end up compensating elsewhere like your lower back.
    The Banded Squat CAN be used to give you a feel for your glutes BUT you must translate that into squats without the bands too, otherwise it becomes a crutch with no benefit
    If you just wanna feel your glutes burn? Fantastic exercise!
    If you keep having multiple issues with your back or knees? These are probably not what you need, so get investigating how your hips are moving!

    Totally thought you said, "The secret to gluten activation," but since you're not making bread.... :) All of your tips seemed to be speaking directly to me, so I think I'd best give these a shot.

    Hi, what exercises do you recommend to help support a torn hip labrum? Trying to avoid surgery… thanks

      Would depend how severe it is unfortunately, not something I can really advise on, one of our most basic drills is called the clockwork hips drill so potentially worth trying that

      @@TomMorrison Tom, I probably should have said - I have your total body reset, stability builder and ultimate core programmes. Is this drill on any of those or anything else in those do you think? I’m trying to build muscle up around the hip really, so I suppose back and glutes would or something else?
      I’ve been to PT but the exercises they prescribe are few and easy for me to do so don’t feel like I’m achieving much. Thank you 😊

      @@Gem13 oh in that case I would hit the two resistance bands exercises workouts on stability Builder and see is there anything that catches you!
