Now sure, they are making more money right now but do you really think they are getting a stream of new people watching battle rap as they would on youtube? It's not even as if there aren't ways to do both. They could have tried having a membership button on youtube and drop battles there but more importantly they could do what plenty other youtubers do when they move off the platform and drop their videos a month later on youtube. Most people want to see the battles while they are still relevant but as it is now, only a certain set of people watch the content and that set of people isn't reasonably going to grow behind a paywall. It's taking a niche market and obstructing the path to reach it.
