- Jim McCann was a member of The Dubliners from 1974 to 1979. Returning to his solo career he had a huge hit with the song ‘Grace’ and released an album of love songs by the same name. This is one of the songs taken from that album.
For my father ❤️
A beautiful and gentle man.
He was buried two days ago and my uncle sang this at the graveside. It was the most poignant and beautiful moment. 100s of people harmonized during the chorus. It was an emotional send off. ❤️

Beautiful song by such a great vocalist/musician.. His music will live forever and remembered by many
Lovely, and such perfect timing give that today is St. Patrick's Day.
It's Scottish!?
@@robertialsobel6015 This is a variant of the Scottish song "Braes of Balquhither", but this version was adapted and written by an Irishman, so I'd say both countries have their claims to it.
@@skookumchuck2556 Yes. I later read it is a Scottish/Irish ballad.
What a voice, what a personality!

Beautiful and understated.
I always felt joking the Dubliners was a detriment to his career. Listen to his voice and guitar plucking. He did not need them. He was gifted in his own right

Beautiful voice
Some people don't like it when people go out on their own!!! Jim made the right decision!!!
He had so much to offer... and gave it all......
Loveeeeee
Now Here is a voice to fit the song to a good depth. Everyone got a favorite or two and Emmit Cahill is good, Tommy Makem is tops and the McGrath's . Add Jim McCann.
Go Jim,Go
Some Gent was Jim.
Pure
Love that mans voice!! World class along with Carrickfergus, Boulavogue, ... and so many others.

This was in the late 70's, I guess.
We think this is the early 80's after Jim left The Dubliners
