Love all of your projects, the lamp and rug pillow especially….also your wonderful parenting style, I’m 85 and I remember feeling impatient when my kids interrupted me when I was doing something but you let them help…it’s wonderful to see! Fortunately my kids turned out ok and didn’t hate me for it🥰
Aw thank you 🤗 it's definitely something I'm practicing. But having to watch myself parent most weeks when editing has been helpful for me in growing my patience
Emily your doing an amazing job on your home, diy’s and your a great person and mom! Please remember the devil tries to come into our lives through the most precious things to us, which one is our children. To make us feel guilt and feeling as if we failed. He loves to make us unhappy. But God is stronger so I learned a long time ago, when I would get these negative feelings was to pray! It has always sustained me and made me feel and know I was doing the absolute best I could! God bless you and your sweet family and keep on doing the amazing job you’re doing sweetheart! I’m a 64 yr old mother of 4 and blessed grandmother of 11 and I’m still learning every day how to navigate 🙏😍❤️
Thank you ❤️ I love how you mention you as still learning. And you are totally right about the spiritual warfare that is going on. Good reminder, thank you!
You sweet little thing. I love that you teach your babes out of the Bible. Teach them young and they will always remember. Your lamp turned out beautifully.
Thanks for your transparency on perfectionism. I struggled with it as a young wife and mother. But your family will help you. I just got pulled into a game of Clue with my daughters, but now back to my chores.😊
The lamp turned out great, you could put a tiny terracotta pot in that wooden candle holder thing,or you could put one of those glass tea light holder with a candle in it.💞
You look adorable in your thrifted sweater! I like the way the lamp turned out. It was interesting to hear you talk about ‘Mom guilt’ and perfectionism because I definitely have that, too. It was cute to see the boys helping you - very sweet and loved your conversations with them. You are a great mom, Emily!
Hi Emily …Courtney sent me… I love how you teach your boys , and recognize with Gods love and guidance you can overcome and finish things…beautifully!! 😊😊
I think you are amazingly brave in trying new things. I’m not sure I would have attempted to make pillows out of carpet remnants…that would scare me! LOL. Your projects all turned out great and you have every right to be proud of them! As far as mom guilt goes, take it from a grandma, children do not have to be played with every minute of the day. Time alone teaches a child to have an imagination and to solve problems. You are a great mom! Keep doing what you are doing!
That did feel very brave haha I don’t know how I didn’t break my needle either 😂 and thank you. I appreciate your wisdom from the other side of things 🤗❤️
Omgosh all of your flips turned out beautiful…good job. Your boys are so cute, just wanting to help you and having conversations and teaching good life lessons. You are such a wonderful mother ❤
Awesome Video!!!! Thinking about "Mom Guilt"there are two words that are not spoken but are "powerful" if we given them our "head space". These words are "expectations" and "comparison". Expectations is very dangerous because it is "never" spoken. But we give it control and power in our thinking process to compare our life and others close to us. Also, the word "comparison" is "not" spoken but it can grow into being the "seed" of jealousy. It is said that comparison is the thief of joy. Finally, expectations & comparison will "not" reap the fruit of gratitude and contentment. Great time you have with your precious sons!!! They learn from your examples of everyday life!! God Bless!!!
I absolution love how you put this! You are absolutely right. I notice direct correlation between how happy I am day to day and how much I have thanked the Lord recently 🤍
I love Courtneys channel.. she's amazing and so hilarious! Love the double color of that rolling pin! You can always put A decorative candle in the wood block that you wouldn't actually burn.. or use it for a riser for a small item on a shelf, like a brass candle stick when you have several but want them in different heights 🤷♀️ lol tried to think outside the box!😄 I love collecting anything old & made of wood.. large or small pieces, i just love wood! The cutting board & bowl turned out beautifully! You did A great job, along with you handsome little helpers😊 Emily you are so right, you do have thriving little boyd & it shows right thru this screen! I know you're a wonderful mom, a and being a mom we all understand that feeling of mom guilt at some point. The pillow is really pretty! Girl I would never even try to tackle that, you did a great job on it! The lamp is beautiful! But what's even more beautiful is the you let that opportunity lead you into talking with your son on making mistakes, patience, perserverence.. but most importantly faith! If we as parents don't teach our children about having faith in God in all things, they my never truly learn.. no one else will do it for us! I love seeing young mothers teaching their little ones about the Lord😊 And they sure need to learn to have that faith & trust in him in this day & time! Thank you for sharing..i loved all the flips😊
I love your videos . I live in Sarasota so we are almost neighbors. I make a lot of pillows and do an envelope closing on the back- no zipper. Just cut the back piece about 4 to 5 inches longer than the front. Cut it in half and hem both edges. When you pit it to the front you will over lap the 2 back pieces to match the front creating the same size . Then sew all 4 sides and there will be an opening to insert the pillow. Easy Peasy no zipper. 😊😣
God uses things in our lives in ways we cannot imagine. Sounds like a great time sharing with your little one. All three projects came out great. On the wooden bowl you could have done a bit of hand sanding with just the piece of folded sandpaper and your hand to get that curved place. In the end it looks like the oil covered that up though. I have refinished my share of wood things and with curves the folded sandpaper works well but just takes a bit of time.
You are exactly right! He definitely does use our daily lives to teach us big things ☺️ and thank you! I totally should have just used hand sanding. Next time!
You did an amazing job Emily … just brilliant. BTW … Courtney sent me! 😁 Loved all your flips but I certainly don’t want to say what I’d like to see on your channel and limit you … I’d rather be surprised with what you choose to share! It’s all good … just like ‘God is always good and always God is good’! 😇 BTW l love the fact you mentioned God in your VLOG … and not afraid to do so. I’m a Christian myself and really appreciate hearing others talk about Father Abba. That’s one thing about having faith and a spiritual foundation … one realizes they’re imperfect (only Christ was and is perfect) and its necessary we all need to submit to Yahweh. The quest for perfection is one of futility ‘coz we’ll always fall short. However, it’s a relief to know we’re all made perfectly, in His eyes, with all our imperfections! Wish I had of raised my son in a similar fashion as to you … I applaud you for it. My son was a challenging boy and the kind of patience needed I was in short supply of, at the time. But one thing with grace is that we’re forgiven for our imperfections and sometimes we’re allowed chances to make changes within our character … it’s a process. The flip side though, those opportunities are forever lost. But still it’s never too late to make good choices to become as Christ-like, as is humanly possible … and that we’re all in one way or another, a work in progress. I really enjoyed seeing today’s VLOG and have already liked, subscribed and hit the notification bell! See you in the next VLOG! God bless! 🙏🙌✝️❤️🇨🇦 P.S. Suggestion … when you need to splatter paint and/or a type of ink onto a surface for an effect/antiquing purposes, you could also use a toothbrush.
Hello and welcome 🤗 so glad you enjoyed watching! I love how you put perfection in God’s eyes. You are so right! I am so fortunate to be home with my children. Them and myself are growing and learning so much every day ❤️
Let me know which flip was your favorite! And check out Courtney’s DIY video with the link in my description 🤍
@@EmilyGarbe Oh, I l o v ed* the rug fragments to pillows flip. So high end! You will love those forever 🤩💛
I would use the little wooden candleholder as a match stick holder and glue a striker from the side of the match stick box on the bottom. 😃😍
Great idea!!

Thank you so much ☺️

The little wood piece can be a candle holder when you put a glass votive holder down in it. I think it’s cute!

That lamp turned out great.
You didn't give up. Hey YOU!
Yes! Thank you! ☺️
Love watching you Emily! I love that you showed the setbacks in your lamp but didn’t give up! It turned out beautifully 😍
Thank you Courtney!! Was a process haha

I definitely wouldn’t have thought of using it as a riser but like that idea! Haha thank you! ☺️
Oh Emily....I loved it all. The DIY's (especially the pillow and lamp), the teaching moments with your son, it was all good. Blessings and prayers...
Thank you so much 🤍
Emily, see if you can find something glass, even a tall jar, that will fit into the wood block holder. 🌻🌻
That’s a great idea!
Love Courtney…she’s a hoot! And so creative!
Isn’t she? ☺️
I use Castile soap all the time for everything ! I luv it, it’s safe and non toxic.
Yes!!
The wood vase could be used on a desk for paper clips etc
Ooh true! Thanks for the idea

@@EmilyGarbe Please don’t “pit” it to the front 🤓 I just noticed the typing error. If you try you will be a pillow pro👍
The pillow and lamp look fantastic!
Thanks!!
Beautiful Diys, love your teaching moments! God is so good!! I'm from Minnesota too!
Amazing! We are up here in Mn now. I’m filming a little home tour of my parents Victorian home. Will share soon 🥰

Maybe! It was kinda narrow
