- Michigan State basketball lost one of its greatest supporters on April 8,2014 when Lacey Holsworth passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. In a relationship that first started away from the spotlight and cameras, and later was initially documented by Big Ten Network's "The Journey", Holsworth developed a special bond with Adreian Payne. Holsworth was at Payne's side on Senior Day, and then again as she helped cut down the nets after MSU's victory in the Big Ten Tournament. As MSU advanced through the 2014 NCAA Tournament, Holsworth captivated a nation as her story was told through numerous outlets, including Good Morning America and The Today Show.
This video was part of Lacey Holsworth's Life Celebration at the Breslin Center on the Michigan State campus on April 17.

RIP Princess Lacey
I cannot believe it has been 8 years. Not only Lacey's life was changed, but Adrian Payne's life was as well.
When I heard that she died, I was in tears. Adrian Payne, Tom Izzo, the entire MSU basketball team and even the fans brought back faith, happiness, and even passion as Little Brother/Spartan Fans.
Lacey, your faith, smile, and happiness, made me come back to running 🏃♂️ as an adult full time. 8 years later, I'm officially a Marathoner, have done 11 Half Marathons, 35+ 10ks, too many 5ks to count.
Thank You Lacey. I miss you big time. Go Green! Go White! Go Spartans!
Man this one hurts😭RIP AP!!
I am generally described as a die hard MSU fan and a heartless person by my friends. Yet every video and article I have seen about this sweet little angel has brought me to tears. Rest in peace sweet little Lacey. You have brought so much happiness and joy to my life. You have touched us all in a way you will never know. You are a Spartan Dawg forever.
This story is amazing and I'm an Ohio state fan and I have great respect for MSU
Live, laugh, love and always remember. Hopefully someday there will be better treatments if not a cure... Thank you Lacey for sharing your smile, your spirit, your love with all of us!
RIPLacey
Nice video. I don't think this little girl could even comprehend the good she was doing - she was just being her.
Such precious figure. Rest in peace, Princess Lacey.
Rest In Peace, Adreian Payne.
From an OSU fan, you guys are top notch! AP you are an amazing human being!

Lacey had such a wonderful spirit. This is a beautiful tribute to a beautiful person. I wish I had known Lacey.
RIP Princess Lacey.. Now go dance with the angels!
I loved this.......
2 people have no soul. Rest in Peace sweet Princess. I never met you, but you have made me smile so many times. Say "Hi" to my Dad in heaven.
I know how hard this was for Adrian, to lose a friend he loved hearly.
Now Lacey and AP are together again in Heaven RIP!
She was amazing. She had a love, patience, and dedication most adults don't have. She was something. I am so sorry to her family for their loss. I can't imagine. 💔😞👑
You know as a Badger fan, I tend to really hate Michigan St on the court because we have a recent good rivalry. But this is a great thing they did and I really applaud AP for this. RIP
I'm not crying, you're crying.
@@shimmer4771 yes i am :(
@@idontplay3v3 Now, Addrienne is gone, too! 😭😭😭
@@shimmer4771 yea 😭😭🥺
RIP 😔
Rip man. had to come back to this video💔
She was so sweet and so was AP, in his relation to her.
Rip to ap and princess lacey to great souls
So cute :') Omg she was gorgeous
Rip🙏 ap
Whoever thumbed this down should burn in hell - and I don't even believe in hell. But if there is one - it is for you.
Lacey contains fewer letters and is easier to type than Holsworth. Can't a little girl who's passed away be granted more respect than a convicted criminal?
AP died way too young.
RIP Princess Lacey
