    Hey Jason, great video I have two questions.
    1) could I connect a washer/hose to an Existing live bait well pump? By connecting a “Y” to the intake hose and just add pump and switch?
    2) That marine 5200, I’m installing a T-Top could I use that when installing the bolts to the base which will act as a sealant and adhesive?

    • @ReelLifeFisherman

      Thanks for responding, I just meant to tie into the intake hose of the bait tank with a “Y” connector and use a wash down water pump to have require pressure? So I wouldn’t have to drill another hole for the wash down intake!! I hope that clear up my question?

    • @victorstellakis5899
      @victorstellakis5899 4 года назад +1

      @@danielramos7394 I actually have the same question. The limiting factor is whether you can have suction behind the live well pump and if the would prohibit using both at the same time. If Reel Life knows the answer would be most helpful!

    • @ReelLifeFisherman
      @ReelLifeFisherman  4 года назад +1

      So I have never installed one that way .. but I wouldn’t see why it wouldn’t work.. the wash down is self priming.. and the live well pump it would be pulling through.. you would have to just make sure the output on the live well had a shutoff .. or it will suck air through there.. personally I would just install the extra through hull.. but that’s me.. I know it’s scary..

    Nice install, but you missed on the very most important part of any thru-hull job - the flanged seacock (NOT BALL VALVE) with backing block! If anything in that line breaks, you want to be able to shut off the incoming water at the thru-hull. And while you're at it, get an all metal BRONZE thru-hull fitting WITH screen. All three of those parts can be had for less than $200. Never understood why a guy with lives onboard and thousands of dollars in a boat, would skimp out on a couple hundred dollars to get it right. Other than that, nice install, and the diamond plate was a nice finishing touch.

Not sure if when the wash down pump is pressuring up if it would suck air from the open live well pump side.. might require a valve to shut of one side or the other.. but let me know.. I would love to find out.. my thunder jet has a nice factory installed one.. so there was no need for me to try it.. I will be using the forward live well pump I don’t use for a bait tank mounted on my offshore bracket.. thanks for watching the channel

      @@ReelLifeFisherman I planned on putting a cheap one way check valve from the livewell feed just before its pump just for that possible problem. It shouldn't be too much rocket science....but I've been wrong many times before so this could just be a little wasted time on my end is all.

      @@ReelLifeFisherman K, so I did a little checking around at my local place to get boat stuff and low and behold Attwood makes a aerator pump with dual take-offs....one for the live well and one as an auxiliary for either a normal wash down hose using that pumps pressure or run that directly to another pump for a higher pressure wash down hose. So I guess my idea has already be thought up and implemented. Dang it, I lost out on another million dollar idea.😭

    Why put a hole in your boat ??? If you have a live well. Simple put a TEE in your existing through hull. Or most live well pumps come with a extra port to tie into for this reason to share a through hill connection.

    Nothing more fun then sticking your head shoulders deep into a stinky dirty bilge hole lol. Dam if I had a quarter every time I did that back in the eighties I be a millionaire.

      Lol! As bilge holes go this one is not bad! It’s the nasty bilge pissers that are the worst! 🤣 thanks for watching!

    Don't buy the washdown system you're not only wasting money and time installing it and putting extra holes in your boat that can leak when you will always have a soft drink can are a bottle our a cup are some kind of bucket just dip it in the water and pour it to where is going outside the boat and you basically doing the same thing as a stalling the expensive wash system and you not having to put in the hole in your boat to a place to leak later on down the line
