Thank you for the excellent review! I have just bought a Restrap Race Top Tube bag and I think Restrap have designed their bags really well. I am looking for a saddle bag and I really like Restrap design that has a frame that you can leave on the bike! I look forward to watching some of you travel adventures when I'm training on the Turbo!
I own the Topeak Frontloader which has the holster design. I like it a lot and it's really a bang for the buck. Comes also also in two colours, green or black. Total recommandation.
Small waterproof bags are great as an addition but I like the space traditional panniers allow, and even the luxury of pulling a single-wheel suspended trailer. It's nice to have space for a Nemo Helio XL shower and a Scrubblewash bag to be able to stay clean on extended rides. The best bar bag I have ever used in 60 years of riding is the large Arkel handlebar bag, it's big, waterproof, easy to mount and remove, and extremely stable... no rattling around.
Again, check out the Arkel saddle bag set up. It has a frame that fits on the saddle and seat tube, and the bag(s) 9 and 16 liter, slip on and off. Easy, no wagging of the bags, and narrow at the seat interface. Great bags.
@@Buzzalong.cycling I did for sure! I’d been thinking about a top tube bag, but never really saw any that I felt would be quite right. But I think the Restrap one could be just the ticket. Thanks again. 👍 I didn’t notice your fingers until I read other comments. Hope they will be fully healed soon.
Have you used the restrap top tube bag in heavy rain. Ie. Monsoon rain in tropics . .? Mine let all water in super disappointed. Using the Apidura now. Not had heavy monsoon downpour yet
Great review! I don't have those specific bags but they look nice. I like the idea of a holster and I like that there are no sharp edges on that Restrap top tube bag. I have a local brand I'm using but I had to sew a smooth strap on the velcro end because it was grabbing and shredding my expensive bibs. My Apidura (big-a**, non-race) saddle bag didn't have enough seat runner to attach so would sag into the seat tube and drop onto my tire. So on my last trips I've been using a Tailfin rack to hold up the Apidura which I really like. I don't run a bar bag as such because my stem is slammed somewhat. (It's my gravel race bike too.) But I have aero bars so I just strap a small dry bag on top of them end-wise.
Thanks for your comment Mike, sound like a good hack for holding the Apidura bag. I have been using lately the Topeak BACKLOADER WISHBONE to stabilize the Apidura saddle bag which also works pretty good. Safe rides
You didn't show how difficult it can be to stand over the bike when you stop - I find all these top tube bags impinge on my ability to straddle the bike when I stop, especially quickly. I much prefer frame bags (an old concept - I had one from the 70's, and have seen some from the 40's!). I get the feeling you have a more favorable view of the Restrap bags vs. others. True?
Thank, depends, I personally like top tube bags because they are easy to access on the bike, the restrap top tube bag i like it better because it is slim so it doesn’t rub against my legs when i get out of the saddle and i found is more stable, both brands have really good options though

thank you so much :) really happy the video was useful
Holsters for bags? Very good idea. I hate looping and un-looping all those straps. I'll have to look in to this a little more. Thanks for the video.

Great info, well presented … thanks! 🚴😀

No body frame bag???
Not on this one 😅
Do you know why audax riders don't use rear carriers?
no, i think is personal preference :)
Done any of them mark or scratch your frame up?? 🤔
Not yet, but i use protective tape on my frame before mounting the bags
@@Buzzalong.cycling good idea 💡 thanks
Is everything ok? No more videos?
thanks, for you comment, the new video is going to be released soon, it will be worth the wait :)

I share your opinion about the tube bags since I'm not a tall person.
