Daniel and Houston , Just a suggestion from my experience from trapping . On your Bobcat and coyote sets ,when you set close to a tree line such as you did with the feathers , take a few fluffy feathers and tie them to a string . (6-8 lb fishing line is what i have used ) and then take the other end with about a 2 feet of length between and tie it off to a limb above the trap so it can blow around . It attracts bobcats more than coyotes but it will work on both . Give it a try and may help you guys .Love seeing your videos and you being a great conservationist and teaching your kids how to survive if needed and help the populations of all the critters you guys hunt and trap . Love seeing Houston learning different things. Was so proud when he got his first duck the other day. Here we have such an issues with the amount of Canadian geese that they have started spraying the eggs so they will not hatch. I am in southern Ontario

I live in Ohio and while driving the other day I saw a small coyote running through a field, it had a chicken in its mouth. So by what you’re doing is helping save farm animals. Way to go Daniel! I have never trapped before, but I find trapping very interesting. Your videos on trapping are, too me, extremely interesting. Your first haul seemed to take awhile, but I'm sure the learning curve is not instantaneous! But seemed like after a few days your haul was pretty good. Congratulations, Houston. I remember a man who lived just west of the town I grew up in when I was about your age. He hunted wolf. He was a friend of my Daddy and stopped by our house one night on his way home from a hunt and had 13 of the big white timber wolves on him truck. Sometimes, he would fly his plane a spot, the wolf, and had guys on the ground he would talk to on a radio and tell them where they were. He used gray hounds on the ground. I lost you guys for a few months now.. but I am back... Likely only here on RUclips.. I am amazed to watch your trapping the coyotes etc. We have coyotes out back in the heath and swamp areas.. That’s pretty good that Houston’s taking up the trapping I know the first trade isn’t very big right now, but just the same cleaning up the predators and sending them off off to be tanned is nice. I do that with my deer hides, but then again, I make my own regalia, but the outdoors I’m Narragansett and Wampanoag with Italian throne in sonata very good mix, but make my own moccasins and beadwork that’s all that matters. It’s a fun craft to have besides knowing how to take out the predators and re-purpose. The remains is a very good knowledge to have because there are people out there that watch the first.❤❤❤❤

THANKS DANIAL & HUSTON on the trapping deal....Back in the 1950's i used to have a trapping line.....l would run my trap ling at about 50:30 AM to see if i caught anything.....l had about 50 traps to check and then go to school.....When i came home from school at 3:30 in the afternoon and check my trap all over again...Thanks from a Old F-4 Shoe🇺🇸

Good job Houston!!! My brother has been a taxidermist for at least 50 years now. It's been a good "side hustle" for him. He started with birds and squirrels and moved up to the big game. Pretty lucrative business. 💖
Yes. I'm not a hunter. Couldn't hit the broadside side of a barn & I can't blame it on my lazy eye because it's pure talent at missing. I also like coyotes a lot. Always have & always will. But their numbers nowadays need to be managed & the best way is a responsible ethical hunter. A quick clean kill as much as possible. I've never had the chance to hunt or even really want to. Not to mention I'd need a good babysitter to keep from making a dumbass mistake. But I've always supported good hunters who love nature. Everyone is so surprised online when a hunter chooses to help free a deer instead of killing it. But it's never surprised me at all. It makes me happy to see a good father teaching his children how to manage their land properly & protect their animals.
Daniel. If possible put a small island in your pond for geese. To nest on. Plus try putting some nest boxes up for wood ducks. Congratulations Houston. Awesome video

Good job Houston!!! I wished you lived in Minnesota close to me. My farmland is right next to a wildlife area. Which at one time had turkeys, Pheasants, geese, ducks and deer. Now there are just a few deer. I did have some chickens and ducks, but they are now gone. They were killed or disappeared during the day when I was gone. I do hear the coyotes sometimes on the south end of my farm. There is a drainage ditch on that end, and I was told they have a den there. But last winter, I did see a coyote up on my yard. During the summer, I have heard them close by my yard. Keep up the good hunting Daniel and Houton.
I have probably 20 plus videos from different channels I watch including ole Lester but the only ones I have taken the time to watch is yours. I will eventually watch the others but if I see one from you I stop what I am doing to watch it. I think there are many reasons why. First off there is nothing better than a father spending time in the woods teaching his son all about life. Secondly watching Houston and the excitement he gets from doing it is just a testament to how he is raised. Mom and dad should be very proud of him. Thirdly I think it helps me to live through you both because I didn’t get to spend quality time with my father growing up but if I had I wish it would have been similar to you two. Last but in no way the least I enjoy the video content and the way of life. I could live in the small little cabin on Mill Creek and be very content. Simple is beautiful in my book. Thanks for not only sharing the videos but also your lives with us. Congratulations to Houston and the video guy on the coyote and raccoons. Awesome job guys. Look forward to the next chapter in this series.
Congrats Houston, Kudos Daniel for being an excellent father, role model and teacher. I grew up on a cattle ranch in VERY rural North Texas and coyotes was so bad people was killing them as much as possible. They decreased but they come back pretty quickly you will not stop them but it is good to allow the prey they have to have a chance.

Good job Houston!!! I wished you lived in Minnesota close to me. My farmland is right next to a wildlife area. Which at one time had turkeys, Pheasants, geese, ducks and deer. Now there are just a few deer. I did have some chickens and ducks, but they are now gone.
They were killed or disappeared during the day when I was gone.
I do hear the coyotes sometimes on the south end of my farm. There is a drainage ditch on that end, and I was told they have a den there. But last winter, I did see a coyote up on my yard. During the summer, I have heard them close by my yard.

I have probably 20 plus videos from different channels I watch including ole Lester but the only ones I have taken the time to watch is yours. I will eventually watch the others but if I see one from you I stop what I am doing to watch it. I think there are many reasons why. First off there is nothing better than a father spending time in the woods teaching his son all about life. Secondly watching Houston and the excitement he gets from doing it is just a testament to how he is raised. Mom and dad should be very proud of him. Thirdly I think it helps me to live through you both because I didn’t get to spend quality time with my father growing up but if I had I wish it would have been similar to you two. Last but in no way the least I enjoy the video content and the way of life. I could live in the small little cabin on Mill Creek and be very content. Simple is beautiful in my book. Thanks for not only sharing the videos but also your lives with us. Congratulations to Houston and the video guy on the coyote and raccoons. Awesome job guys. Look forward to the next chapter in this series.

Congrats Houston, Kudos Daniel for being an excellent father, role model and teacher. I grew up on a cattle ranch in VERY rural North Texas and coyotes was so bad people was killing them as much as possible. They decreased but they come back pretty quickly you will not stop them but it is good to allow the prey they have to have a chance.
Such a good job Houston! I have a pair at my farm in near Maud that I am tired of watching on my deer cams. Come get them for me. LOL

Fantastic. So excited for Houston. Daniel you are the best dad. Love seeing you helping your son to learn how to hunt and trsp predators. My old man learned from his dad. They hunted a lot. He tried teaching his sons but they just aren't interested. Makes him sad because thst was a great time he will never forget bonding with his father. Good job Huston.
