As a Shen main for almost 2 years now (I've started playing since S8, quite literally at the start of the season and I picked up Shen in April of that year) and even though I've been playing him a lot, I still have more to learn. This vid has taught me a bit more on what I should actually do, like how do I counter aggressive champs like Darius and Sett, and that neat little trick before the first minion wave crashes. Hopefully I'll be able to make use of this knowledge and get more great plays with Shen. Thanks for this vid!
When you’re leashing press Q at 1:16 then 1:25. You’ll be able to get the 3 empowered autos off and the next time you use Q you’ll get a shield as well which can let you tank 1 attack from the monster. 6 Q autos and shielding 1 auto for your jungle is really good
As a Shen main, I find my biggest challenge is ulting too much and falling behind in lane. I find it so crucial to be aware of the lane state and deciding on whether or not it is worth it to ult. For instance, if the wave is bouncing off the opponent's tower and there is a huge wave crashing into my tower that may be equivalent to a full level of Xp and ~300gp. In this case it is almost never worth it to ult unless it is late game and it could be a game changing teamfight. Sometimes even if you have ult up, it's better to let your teammate die and prioritize keeping up in XP and gold to maintain competitive vs your lane opponent.
Yes exactly. I’ve noticed the same thing. I also have problems finding the right situation to use my ultimate. Ultimate in and save not then two minutes later there is a battle for dragon.
If you pull your spirit blade at 1.25 you will get enough time to hit the monster 3 times and cast Q again and hit 3 more times. Totalling 6 empowered strikes
If you are against a Blade of The Ruined King duelist finishing thornmail after titanic is better than going warmogs because they will deal your % health as damage, plus the reflect damage will heal you with Ravenous Hunter a little bit.
I think something I’ve always struggled with, is that I’m too aggressive in game, and am constantly abusing my abilities without thinking about my passive. And I’m always struggling with farm early on. I always struggle with wave clear vs going in on the enemy champion. And I always struggle vs ranged champs.
Anywhere from beginning-high level, a lot of the stuff in videos is downright essential to mastering the champion but at the same time could be considered "basic." Unless you are a top of the line player of a given champion, our guides will have something for you, and our website would offer even more for the real specifics (like some matchups or build diversity).
It completely depends on the lane matchup, there are some where Ignite turns you into a crazy pressure machine (like Shen vs Camille) and it usually becomes good when the enemy can deal with your all in/poke just enough, where ignite can change that completely. Also very good at shutting down healers/conq users (Maokai, Soraka, Camille, etc.)
Lol nah never ignite, no matter what elo. Tp is what makes shen a hard carry champ. Having two globals, and using them correctly means you can help mid get a free kill, then help bot get a double 1 minute later, then potentially dragon. Ignite doesnt offer nearly as much as tp
I have problems with Lilian. She can’t out trade and run away. Her ms is too quick. If I try to build mr, I don’t do much dmg, n she will eventually get magic pen, though to make wits end and merc treads useless. What to do?
Nope, why? I imagine there probably is some similar stuff considering they know what they are talking about? They are both absolutely top notch players and I am pretty sure Petu is the most popular Shen creator on both RUclips and Twitch no? Shen is one of my favorite toplaners (besides Jax) and I always like to keep current on him :D and especially with his buff now... hes fantastic.
@@ricardofrequiao Ah I see, which stuff? I am curious because maybe I learned it on my own over time or from other places as the information spread? The only thing I have ever watched from Petu was a lil section of a gameplay video near the beginning of the year when he started to blow up, I remember specifically learning about the shieldbash+cheap shot number tip to make sure you are laning as effectively as possible from him
@@AceWindstorm The shield bash + cheapshot numbers tip was the one that caught my attention, but i saw at least another thing wich i can't remember right now.
im otp shen from season 5 and i have to say to play shen is my most fav and most hatefull champion at the same time. i love the skills and how the champ feels to play but at the same time i hate the abitly to cs with shen, after all the nerfs he is one of the worst if not the worst "cs" champions in toplane, with the nerv of titanic kills his splitpush abilty i try so many diff items out nothing come close to the old titanic. its time to move on im going to learn a new champ right now because im sick of it the enemy is always 50 cs + ahead of me.
Notice Me! I am a Shen Main with 740k+ Mastery Points I just play a little different from what you guide, but NOT BAD you so much that helps others who wants to use Shen. Most of what you said, that I've been through mastering him on my own. But I just want to say that you can pull your spirit blade , even without passive, through the enemy without engaging just to make the passive's cooldown by 4secs. I build full tank shen and can carry and deal lots of damage.
Here come all the fair weather fans on the Shen hype train I'm see champion bans on the horizon :( ....hopefully he gets a skin worth more then 1350 out of this with new voice lines animations dance jokes and more but that's wishful thinking I'm sure.

Legends of Runeterra has me wanting to try Shen in league. Cool timing of the video.
Anyone gonna talk about the hilarious chat around 16:30? "What are you doing..." "Step bro"
Ive been wanting to actually be able to play shen for a rlly long time, especially now with the new items. This really helped, thank you!!
If you pull your spirit blade at 1.25 you will get enough time to hit the monster 3 times and cast Q again and hit 3 more times. Totalling 6 empowered strikes
If you q at 1:17 then 1:25 u can leash with 6 qs and tank one or two especially with the recent shield buff
If you are against a Blade of The Ruined King duelist finishing thornmail after titanic is better than going warmogs because they will deal your % health as damage, plus the reflect damage will heal you with Ravenous Hunter a little bit.
Secondary runes precision triumph and legend tenacity are great too
Amazing guide!!! Tells me everything I want and need to know!

Would u say that ur guides are better for mastering or learning a champion

Will you update the guide to season 11? I think the new items kind of changed the way most ppl build for Shen
Can you do Aatrox next? I'm trying to get out of bronze/silver with Aatrox
Is there any champion named aatrox in game , i thought they gutted him out of the game
What's an Aatrox? Is it a champion or something?
quick tip yas windwall can block Shen q from moving idk how
Hi Game Leap, can i take ignite except tp?
I have a little question about shens summoners. Would you recommend ignite for more earlypressure or tp for more safety. An answer would be nice:)
Low elo ignite, high elo tele
