Time was probably the most serious season I can think of. It tackled serious issues with heart. Probably the best season.
RPM is pretty serious too. Hard not to be when its set post apocalypse of a heavily implied nuclear Armageddon caused by a Skynet like computer virus and the entire world's population of billions has been reduced to only a single experimental domed city left in a ruined wasteland.
You knew things were serious when the mostly human villain (meaning not a big rubber costume guy) pulls a bone sword out of his body and murders the red ranger basically at the start of the series.

That is true. But, they made Jane pretty different from the other leaders.
In time ranger's Japanese counter part, the pink ranger leader really got her shit together and know what she is doing. In the Japanese counterpart of Time Force it is like having young hot female version of Obi Wong Kanobi in charge. Where Jane I think the writers decided to intentionally go for the opposite. It is like having young hot female version of Anakin Skywalker in charge. People are usually more forgiving towards women acting this way, especially those that are young. Because, that old saying is "boys don't cry." we won't apply it to girls. And we are more forgiving towards young women to be emotional and irrational. It is usually by the time they gone from young woman to old lady where we as a society start holding women to the same standard to men. With guys all the other hand, we are OK with a 12 or 13 years old boy to be emotional and irrational, but by the time you are 15 or 16, people expect you to already got your shit together. But, even so it Jane is still able to become an effective team manager, by willing to listen to advice as her team. It is similar to in the army with 2nd Lieutenant that just graduated from college. Usually, when kids just graduated from college and doesn't know shit they are still interns (e.g. intern doctors.) even cops, rookie cops is similar to an apprentice (you match up one experienced cop as the master and one rookie cop that just graudated as apprentice.) Most people that just graduated from college are interns. In the army infantry, you are given a platoon of 30 soldiers to lead and expecting you having all the reason, which as a rookie, it is not possible. But, they always assigned an expereince platoon sergeant to assist you. if you are willing to listen to the advice of the platoon sergeants and the other sergeants when needed you be OK as the team manager. After all sergeants are chosen from the top 10% soldiers and all experienced veterains. They know what they are talking about. Jane is kinda that sort of leader. She it not much of a leader, doesn't really know what she is doing, way over her head, stereotypical emotional vulenerable and irrational girly girl. People like that can barely manage themselves, let alone a team. Never the less she is the ranking officer, but is willing to listen to advice when needed.
it is really very different from the other male red ranger leader, or the Japanese Time Force counterpart leader or the white Alien ranger female leader that actually know what they are doing and is up to the job. At first I thought this is a bad idea, in time force to have somebody that is way over her head in this leadership role. But, it turns out that it worked out very well. making her very interest as a character and a great storyline, in contrast to all other leaders that all got their shit together. And the few female leader (white alien ranger) that is like a female version of Obi Wong Kanobi and the pink time force ranger in the Japanese version that is literally a young hot female version of Obi Wong Kanobi. Those two female leaders are beyond just having their shit together for this job, they are literally good enough to be mentors.
ngl I had a crush on Kim during my childhood, but Jen stole my heart on my early teen days. Gotta love her acting in this series. Thanks guys. It was really a blast from the past ❤
This episode is a perfect example of empowering and inspiring female performances in the franchise.
Jen was able to become such a serious and believable powerhouse thanks to Erin's acting, stunts and effort.
It always a bit more convincing when certain episodes have these moments of a main character struggling with their inner pain,
emotionally, mentally or somtimes even physically.
'Time Force Traitor' is also a great episode where Erin/Jen gets to shine!

Jen Scotts hasn't really aged at all. She's like in her 40s already and still looks 20 something.

Originally at first I thought Captain Logan was the Mentor at the beginning cause he's the boss of Time Force police academy but since he wasn't with the rangers in 2001 thats why it looked like there was no mentor. The monster was call Fatcatfish. I think what Jen wanted to do after that scene was deciding to love Wes instead.

Fatcatfish got what he deserved! Being locked in cryogenic storage is merciless because he knows he has no chance to escape and is succumbed to living out his life as a tiny figure in a cryogenic tune!

Because of the oath that she took, Jen had to do her job and bring it back to the future. HOWEVER, as much as she wanted to end him, she must know that it may not satisfy her revenge.

In Out of Reach fanfiction, it took place right after this episode. It detailed how Lucas, Katie, and Trip finding Alex alive and being held captive at the warehouse where Ransik was. Lucas called in Wes and Jen for help. Alex and Jen reignited their romantic relationship. Wes left soon after but with the promise that he would return. You guys should seriously look it up on your own. When you have the time.
To translate, the Transwarp Megazord (the yellow megazord) would punch each of the Time Flyers, Shadow Winger and other things from the future to send to the Rangers in the present. In "Movie Madness" Part 2, it actually send itself to the present (to fight the only time it fought) by literally tapping its own butt lol.
As for the questions, the monster was Fat Catfish and she wanted to kill him obviously.

Oddly enough, when it came to confronting Catfish, I was thinking back something that I heard in a classic cartoon movie I heard once. Right after Wes brought up the hard question of "What would Alex do?", I immediately recall a line that Batman once told a former love interest when she was about to kill the Joker. "What would vengeance solve?". Also, I am definitely Team Wes the whole way and I found it hilarious that the other three, especially Katie was jokingly taking jabs at the two near the end of the episode.
That fish lips was called Trish. Possibly combining the words, tree and fish.

@@benhamilton1156 I know Ransik killed Alex and Jen wanted to finish off the monster to avenge Alex since he was in her memory of her and Alex fighting that monster. Jen couldn't do battle with Ransik because the writers didn't have Jen do battle with Ransik to avenge Alex
