I've never had a BSA but did own a 1966 Triumph 500 twin and the reason I say something is, you reminded me of something about these bikes: Torque. When I bought the Triumph, it wasn't putting out full power. Two superb mechanics got it running really well and the first time I rode it after they worked on it, I gave it a little throttle, released the clutch and the damn thing almost shot out from under me. I had no idea the tremendous torque these things have. Lovely bike!
Delighted when both you on your A10 and Rick on his Commando turned up at my place in the highlands. Good to see the old bike still performing it’s duty! Hi to Rick.
Beautifully presented and yes the BSAs are lovely machines. I owned mine for 10 trouble free years. I've subbed and look forward to enjoying more from your channel.
I just discovered your channel. I am a American that's favorite Bikes are British ! I have had a 1957 Thunderbird 1963 Tiger 1970 Bonneville and 1969 Tiger . Good video.
Thanks for an interesting video from someone who uses their classic instead of just polishing it! My first big bike was a BSA A7 and i always regretted selling it. I recently got an 1960 A10 Gold flash, almost exactly like yours (black, as well). I am in the process of uprating the front brake too, as the standard single leading shoe brake is'nt the best.
I never understand why some people don't fit modern new tyres. Sticking with square profile Skid Masters. I'm not talking about semi race radials, just some sensible like Bridgestone BT 46, or Road riders, preferably not over 6 years old. Transforms a bikes ride for the better.
Greetings from the IoM. I sold my 62 BSA A10 Super Rocket some years ago and is one of my biggest regrets. It is still my favourite bike of all time. 🇮🇲🇮🇲
Loverly bike being used instead of a show queen. I rode one of these with my mates back in the sixties with a combo unit as it could be driven on a provincial license. Your garage memrobilia of tank badges includes an Alf Hagen’s drag bike which must be extremely rare, he ran at Duxford the first 9 second quarter in the Uk then I saw him repeat it at Santa Pod a month later in 1967.
Love the way your A10 wears its history of use on the outside, great to see a used old bike rather than a show pony.. I had a '52 plunger spuing Golden Flash for a while and loved it. My current Enfield has an electric start though which is a real bonus.
always good to see a bike in use, far better, to me at least, than highly polished static exhibits and a bit of road dirt is the best accessory a motorcycle can have.
Lovely honest machine. Interesting that you had a mechanical mishap near Bettyhill, I got knocked off my 56 Norton International there by a sheep while on my way to John O’Groats to do the Lands End run. New headlight from a scrapyard in Thurso and a big bolt to replace the broken footrest and we were on our way!
One thing cannot be denied about the the 50s/60s British Bikes was how ridable they were, how manageable they were. Even the 650s were light weight compared to the modern equivalents. OK, they weren't as fast as the new stuff, but they were just as much fun with all that bottom end grunt. Drop them into top gear at 40mph & enjoy the ride. And you can quite as easily get killed doing 80 mph as you can doing 120mph. Most motorcycle deaths are not caused by the rider, they are caused by car drivers, especially cars drivers coming out on motorbikes at 'T' junctions. I don't know how any woman can safely ride the modern big stuff. I walk around the showrooms, looking at the new monster bikes available & the reach required from the seat to the handlebars is enormous, plus (of course) the colossal weight of them.
Good video that I was out on my 59 a10 yesterday bit cold but love getting out on it they are a cracking bike handle very well too 👍 ps me old man's still riding his about at age 74 he loves it
Brilliant advert for brilliant bike but not sure all ladies would find kickstarting a BSA 650cc so easy and you certainly make it look easy. BTW glad you don't fall into the current trap of kicking your bike wearing trainers, ballet shoes or even bare feet ...Thank you so much!
A great introduction to your A10. Good vid. I’m currently running the Michelin classics on my Interceptor 650. Find them to be better than the Road Riders, I have had on another motorcycle. Here’s to many more trouble free miles.👍
Absolutely brilliant, real motorcyclists still exist...many thanks
English motorcycles were very popular in the US when I was a pup. Beautiful motorcycles. Nimble and fast. Great fun
Some sound advice there! Great to see an A10 actually being used and with decent tyres fitted instead of period "death masters".
That really took me back especially that wonderful exhaustion note. I had a 1958 A10 with a sidecar in my youth, great fun!
Wow I saw you on your A10 20 years ago keep riding

What a beautiful sound. A proper British bike.

Lovely bike and very sensibly presented. No wonder you've been together so long! Nice video.

My A10 is in bits..yours has given me encouragement to get my love hate relationship going again with mine 😂.
I need mine on the road🙏

@@skyhill4279 see you there in August for the Manx!
@JulieDipwock I much prefer MGP to the TT's!
I borrowed a mate's, in 1974, for a month when my Yamaha 350 was off the road, I didn't want to give it back. He had bought it for £80.

I only drove it once---it rides nice indeed
UnFortunately those are hard to find here in Indiana...today 😢
Nothing like the sound of a 360 degree crank..

I put a LED bulb on my 6v B31, less current draw and better light👍

I guess the oil filter had to be "External" because most of the oil is too . . . 😂 only joking . . . I love the A10 - always wanted one . . .
That was OK. 👍

Great video, very informative. I am hoping to get into vintage English bikes. Also good to see roads i ride👍🏻
It would have been the big bike in 1958.100k miles! Good for a British classic.
The most 50s/60s British looking bike ..and best sounding . If you nurse them along and not labour or flogg them theyll take you round the world
If you feel it "tweek" sideways on bends..then its the swing arm bush
I prefer the good ole magneto as well. Enjoyed the video.!
Great video😄 if you fancy an upgrade I have a 1959 Golden Flash for sale😅
How refreshing... a lady biker channel. Clean it for ya missus ? 😅
👍🏼🏍️👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼
I. Had. A7. Year,s. Ago
35,000 +100,000 does not equal 72,000.
Correct, it's covered way more than 100k miles with me!
Great video young lady.😊
