It's nothing to a man of your caliber, just have a tinker, give it a coat of hammerite and throw it back on the road! Looks like a nice little project, I'm looking forward to more episodes,best of luck sir. 👍✅😀
@trollpatrol7215 I heard you needed a special tool to adjust the valves but I had a look and cannot see why? I assume its the oil feed pipes that get in the way but its just a 2 min job to pop them off isn't it?
Yeh the difference is to big. But be sure that both carbs are fully open when testing as one slide may not be. Valve adjustment could work. Im curiosity as to whats going on now. Lookinh forward to the next one
@motorcyclejunkie7564 I don't think it will ever run smoothly or idle smoothly when this out of balance. I would check that the compression is low on that cylinder by checking that the carb is opening properly on the throttle first.
With the belly pans, they all get damaged with a 2 into 1 on. A common mod is to cut it down with a dremel or suchlike just forward of where the melting begins.
Maybe a good idea to run it a few times, if its not been used for a long time,,,the compression may get better as I have had that in the past or as suggested oil in the bore and valve clearance

Thank you, this will be a bare frame up project.

So what would be the result of running it with the compression imbalance in your opinion?

@@motorcyclerescuer Engine is just about ready to remove from frame so I will compression test it again on the bench with no carbs fitted. Cheers.
@motorcyclejunkie7564 perfect.
Looking forward to the next vid. Good luck with it

I hope to reinstate the twin silencers on this, subject to being able to obtain them. 2 into 1 is a bloody horrible downgrade!
Maybe you'll be lucky Carl and just need to adjust valves🤔👍
Hope so, will adjust and test again with engine on bench.

Good point, although I don’t think it’s been off the road that long. Still had a couple of months MOT when I got it.
Do the compression test again this time put a table spoon of oil in the cylinder if the compression goes up it's rings if it don't it's valves
Yes you’re right, I am almost at the point where I will be removing the engine. I will try as you suggested on the bench. Cheers.
