Well last month was Enter the Dragonfly, this month is A Hero's Tail. I'm happy to finally be trying out some of the GameCube's most well known platforming games as I actually never got to play these games originally. The question is, does it play better than the prequel? I'd say yes, mostly. Enter the Dragonfly seems widely known for it's glitches which don't seem to be an issue in this sequel. The graphics are also changed (better, imo) and you're no longer required to collect ALL gems for 100% completion! That's major. The game uses gems as currency now and can be used to buy a few upgrades but mostly health replenishing and extra ammo. I'm just so used to breaking boxes that I ended up with way more gems than I really needed. So the collection of gems has basically been replaced with collecting light gems and dinosaur eggs. There's a lot of them, but they're much easier to find than checking every nook n cranny for gems. The dinosaur eggs only offer bonuses such as being able to play minigames from the main menu, concept art or changing your character to Ember. By the time you have the eggs collected, it's pretty much the end of the game already unfortunately, but it's fun for those who are interested in messing around in the map post-game. The light gems, however, are required to open specific areas/doors. Much like Super Mario 64 or many other platforming games (11:50) All in all, both Enter the Dragonfly and A Hero's Tail have good and bad things about them. I found both of them to be enjoyable, but this one was certainly a lot easier to record due to not requiring every gem.
I love your content even though not many people look at different games and search only what they like😐 I always watch your content and have been doing so for months now Please continue doing this for us It will mean a lot to me 🙃
I loved all the little secrets and environments in this game. Hated some of the mini games but they made the eggs a challenge to be satisfied about beating. I also appreciated the varying colors and designs of the dragon eggs.
Ooooooh more nostalgic GOODNESS~ 👌👌👌💖💕💖💕✨ Fun fact on how I got this game- way back when my older sister was still in highschool, she traded this old anime-esque PS2 game we didn’t really touch, to another kid who just so happened to have Hero’s Tale! And that’s how we freaggin’ got it, LMAO- X’DD
I wish that Toys For Bob made a second Spyro Reignited Trilogy: Enter the Dragonfly A Hero's Tail Shadow Legacy (Yes, I totally wish that Shadow Legacy had extended voice acting, just like the other two!)
12:05 Wow all these years later I finally know what the professor was talking about I was a kid when i played this. He was making references to other games Red coins and Power Stars = Mario Heart Pieces = Zelda As for gold tokens I'm not sure of the reference there.
That KH upload is messing everything up lol. I’m reuploading it tonight. Yes this video is 100% as it involves a special ending for doing so :) timecodes will be up shortly
@@longplayarchive Let me guess, copyright trouble? Speaking of which, i noticed a few weeks back that you muted the Goofy Goober Rock in your SpongeBob Movie longplay. I guess high-pitching it wasn't enough?
I love how alert you are 😂 yeah the audio pitching didn’t work and isnt something we should be doing anyway. The reupload is actually going to compile KH into one video, as it’s under twelve hours. I should’ve paid better attention but I’ve been so busy!!
@@longplayarchive Man, that's a BIG pity. It really gave that scene that magic touch. But, in that case, it might be a good idea to re-upload Lego Star Wars 2 and Lego Indiana Jones, which still have the copyrighted music included, and Lego Indiana Jones is also high-pitched, which is indeed kinda distracting. Then i'd rather watch it without music, honestly. As for the KH upload, thanks for still making it one video. As for THIS upload, how did you like this Spyro entry, especially when compared to Enter the Dragonfly?
Thanks again. I believe Addy plans on re-doing Indiana Jones soon and I need to make a note for myself to re-do Star Wars II then. As for the game, I plan to post a pinned comment after I wrote the timecodes but in short.. it’s definitely less glitchy than Enter the Dragonfly and it was nice not having to collect *every single gem*. The game is a lot better imo, but the controls didn’t work great and Spyro would often circle around if I used the joystick too aggressively or something. You’ll notice him circling quite a bit in this video. It’s like that spin attack move in Zelda but without an actual attack
32:40 sign that moneybags has turned over a new leaf hence the saying "Go ahead, Spyro! If you have money to spend, I am here to relieve you of the burden."
Another Spyro game that had mixed feelings with people, but just like with Enter The Dragon Fly, I really liked this game too, and still do consider Red as my favorite villain from the Spyro games. Just wondering, but are you gonna play through the Legend of Spyro Trilogy too?
I stopped liking Spyro games after Enter the dragonfly, because they didn't feel like the same old Spyro games no more, u know what I mean? The same happened with Crash Bandicoot.
Bru did you see how many gems I ended up with? I had all upgrades unlocked and many extra lives and all my ammo capacity was maxed out. What do you want me to use gems for at that point? I literally had like 25k gems towards the end with nothing to spend them on
Recently dropped this game, such a piece of garbage compared to original trilogy: lonely levels with shitty graphic (on ps1 levels looks more detailed), very easy eggthieves, very poor design of collectibles, not much levels and they sooo long it starts to bore, this game not about story but man these opening cutscene, gems are now money and not collectible item, and this voice of spyro i feel like a play as some dragon-dork, play exact same level two times to get one collectible and play another to get another collectible...yeeaah wtf they did to my boy spyro

Can’t forget legend of Spyro the new beginning which is also on GameCube and it’s going to be this month.
@@LandonTheToon thats right
Can you upload the longplay of crash twinsanity for the PS2?

This was the best Spyro game out by far my favorite one

Oh man! I haven't seen this game in years!
MAYIM
This takes me back to the days good times, good times 🙂🙂🙂
Spyro 5 got me into the series of Spyro
Lol, I like how you refer to it as Spyro 5
@@longplayarchive The reason, why I refer it to as "Spyro 5" is cuz it's the fifth game in his series
I wish that Toys For Bob made a second Spyro Reignited Trilogy:
Enter the Dragonfly
A Hero's Tail
Shadow Legacy
(Yes, I totally wish that Shadow Legacy had extended voice acting, just like the other two!)
@brendanintheuniverse1910 Shadow Legacy sucks, it makes Paper Mario Sticker Star looks like a Game of the Year nominee

@Asfgxff Possible. To be honest, I don't remember this comment much.
loool true
0:05:40 Aww... Ember's so cute.
Yea
amazing how much of this was inspired by Jak and Daxter 1. and ratchet & clank going commando. thanks for playin
I used to play this game when I was younger that this game was so hard for me to play it so then I had stopped playing it.
23:24 best professor quote of the game
Underrated spyro game
Agreed. I loved this game
Funny how that last world went like this:
Shipwreck shore
Volcano
Volcanic cave
Mineshaft
Higher tech mineshaft
High tech labotory
LongplayArchive I still have that game for GameCube I don’t have a GameCube but I play it in the Wii now
I still have it for my Ps2 and play it to this day :')
Oh yeah, of course you got him, TO GROW BIGGER! What were you even thinking!?

I just did the first Red boss battle...it was absolutely miserable but VERY satisfying

Can only get to the first one on the GameCube. Dunno when the team can take care of the rest

Ayy yo
I was just playing this ❤
Next GameCube: Ed, Edd n Eddy: The Mis-Edventures
After GameCube: Mega Man: Anniversary Edition
I like your videos
What a wonderful game it is indeed
I've been playing Reignited Trilogy so much that Hunter looks wrong in every other game xD
Genial 5 de la mañana xd
Amazing vid, and please don't torcher yourself by playing bad games...
And next will be the legend of Spyro trilogy.👍👍👍👍👍😁😁😁😁
I can only play one of those for the GameCube, the other two will be done... some time. The first of the Legend trilogy will be up next month:)
@@longplayarchive Ok.
This isn't even a bad game at all. Its nostalgic af
Please also do legend of Spyro a new beginning I heard that one is cool.
Yeah next month
To me spyro a hero's tail was a whole game dat was a rip of lost precursor city in jak and daxter 1
Such a good game
❤❤ ayy ayy
IMO Jess Harnell doesn’t fit Spyro, though he was trying with Spyro, but i just prefer him in Crash
He's both good IMO
I am please with Jess Harnell and Gregg Berger that they also a guest stars in The Simpsons.
Ben Hughes for who
@@birdsofdestiny1823 As Charlton Heston in The Parent Rap while Gregg Berger is yet to be known thanks The Simpsons Movie.
Ben Hughes ok
Do crash of the titans/ mind over mutant longplay. I know you only accept gamecube comments. But i reccomend.
I have never played this game, i like the design of the characters as a more hd version of classic Spyro, but...
gold

This game in my eyes is at least free roaming and had stuff to do, compared to Shadow Legacy and Spyro A New Beginning
Coming Up After Spyro A Hero's Tail It's Crash Twinsanity
❤
I stopped liking Spyro games after Enter the dragonfly, because they didn't feel like the same old Spyro games no more, u know what I mean? The same happened with Crash Bandicoot.
You were skipping gems a lot in this game , like right after you defeat enemies you usually didn't collect what they leave behind ...
