I've been using coated strings on my Taylor and there's a definite lack of dynamic range especially on the lower three strings. Your comparison confirmed my decision to change to uncoated strings. Thanks!

Wouldn't the best sound be uncoated bass strings so first 3 then all coated smaller strings?

I dont like the sound of coated strings. They are dulled out. Too midrangy
