I was a bartender for many years. If tensions were getting high or I sensed a couple of folks were about to fight I'd play Friends in Low Places or I love This Bar by Toby Keith & either song would instantly chill everybody out & the folks who were about to fight ended up singing along & buying each other a beer. I remember being a kid at a family gathering. Think it was the 4th of July. Small town. Large family. All on my grandma's porch. My mom's cousins and the rest of family playing guitar singing this song at the top of their lungs and everyone laughing and having a good time. I'm sure the neighborhood heard it loud and clear. Seen a bunch of drunk and stoned hillbillies barefoot having a grand ol' time. I can still hear my grandma cackling like she did. Thank you Red and Uncle John.
