Growing up in an Asian household, the only target in my life was to get into college. A prestigious college. The road was long, hard and frustrating. I was sad, broken, hopeless for so many years. My parents couldn't accept me for who I am. I didn't know what to do. I saw no hope in my future. I was depressed, soulless. I started to lose hope towards me ever heading to a decent school and fulfilling my parents' expectations. One day I came across this song by Joey. Depressed, hopeless, I swore I would be back one day when I achieve what I want. Fast forward 1 year later, I got accepted into the school which people around told me that I could never attend. I thank God for his blessing. And don't ever lose hope people.

He was also making no type of bread making that music and times are ever changing. He's going to have to switch it up a bit but still stay true to himself if he wants to have money and make music. Making music you LOVE and making the money you want is not easy. Not many artists can get that opportunity. Fast forward to 2022, I have a growing business that generates way more income than my corporate job, I have the freedom to travel & work from anywhere in the world, earn money in my sleep on autopilot, in the best shape of my life, train muay thai & jiujitsu almost everyday, go on grand adventures, and spend quality time with family and a select group of friends. This year alone I've been to 8 countries and crossed off multiple items from my bucket list. I'm just so damn grateful. Goals can be a mirage because they constantly evolve as we do so. Sometimes we forget to pat ourselves on the back once in a while. I guess writing this right now is a bit of a pat on the back. Don't stop pursuing your dreams, but don't forget to cut yourself some slack along the way as it doesn't go exactly as planned -- it rarely does. I'm at a place now where I'm ready to level up again... I still listen to this song on repeat - now envisioning even greater goals, and hope that I'll eventually come back to this comment thread to write about more blessings, trials, and tribulations that this song has pulled me through. Joey exposes himself so much on this record giving the listener a rare glimpse of his vulnerability whilst still staying strong. I feel like it's the album that Kid Cudi wanted to make but never could. It also hit so much harder after the George Floyd incident with tracks like "Land of the Free" and "Temptations". All Amerikkkan Bada$$ is in my top 5 albums of last decade. Period. Even the songs that weren't singles are incredible. Of particular note are "Why you don't love me" and "Babylon". Joey exposes himself so much on this record giving the listener a rare glimpse of his vulnerability whilst still staying strong. I feel like it's the album that Kid Cudi wanted to make but never could. It also hit so much harder after the George Floyd incident with tracks like "Land of the Free" and "Temptations". I know I'm not the only one who's waiting patiently for Joey's next LP 💯
