      I think because Logitech has the name recognition, they were able to get big names like philips hue involved and deeper Adobe integration. But since Logitech owns loupe deck, I'm sure this will help both consoles

      Why should it do better, if the hw is already less premium than that of the loupedeck, the base of this logitech console and pad and the marketplace is much smaller than than of Elgato? And why should it compete better in the market?The influencers get this products and will raise it up to heaven, but I do not see the customers except that, who only buy Logitechproducts...

    • @learningcameras

      @@fussnote1758 Really??? Logitech is probably the biggest name in computer accessories like mice and keyboards and given how bad Apple's mouse and keyboard are, every mac user should own the logitech version. So I absolutely see a market for the less tech market that wouldn't know a brand like Elgato to consider Logitech. I definitely think the hardware should have been better...made that clear in my video but because of the loupedeck purchase, the overall experience didn't feel first gen. I imagine Logitech is eventually looking to integrate this into its keyboards & mice which is why they decided to create this product. Plus with a marketplace, there is room for software sales instead of just hardware

    I have an old Logitech G13 paired with a contour shuffle that I used for video editing. The level of control and speed it gives is amazing but does require you to remember what all the buttons do. I think the visual element to the MX Control could solve a lot of that (pending the flexibility of the control options in Logi Options).
    One thing I would have liked: a sunken dimple on the wheel so you can spin it just with a finger on the top. Really cuts down on the fatigue in your wrist when you don’t have to constantly ‘twist’ the dial

      That's a very good point! I didn't immediately think of that, but I've also used a ShuttlePro in the past and the sunken dimple is definitely a plus for usability. I'm planning on buying this MX Creative Console, hopefully if Logitech modifies the wheel and adds a sunken dimple, they'll give early buyers the option to replace the wheel instead of having to buy a whole new creative console!

    It's very clear they own Loupedeck now. I have a Loupedeck CT and it's like they chopped it up and put a Logitech badge on it. Even the software looks very much the same, I wouldn't be surprised if they copy-pasted it directly and put on another UI on top. I can't blame them for making a cheaper version of the CT though, even if the materials are inferior to its metal brother.

Btw. ...I know this is off-topic...., but I wished Logitech had not obviously "forgotten" the "Craft" keyboard! I would highly suggest taking a good hard look at the Elgato products.
    1. It would give your review A LOT more weight. Otherwise it's like saying Xbox is the greatest console and you've never even picked up a Playstation.
    2. Most of the things you like have been present in the streamdeck for years.
    3. Most of your complaints have already been addressed in the streamdeck.
    4. More options in the streamdeck (30+ buttons, 4 dials, foot pedals and a lot more).
    5. Proven functionality in the creative space.
    That's just to name a handful.
    This is from someone who has multiple MX series products as well as Elgato for both productivity and creativity.

    • @learningcameras
      @learningcameras  2 месяца назад

      @@xman9963 so the interesting thing which I probably should have mentioned is that Logitech purchased Loupe deck a year ago so they are basically the same company now too. While I haven't used the Stream deck personally, from my research it looks like Logitech with its name recognition was able to go deeper with 1st parties like Adobe, Capture one, and even Philips hue to create a more unified experience. It also allows tighter integration with my other MX products since they all get configured in the same app. It will be interesting to see if loupdeck products and Elgato change now that Logitech has entered this market. With the 2 consoles I've tried, both companies have been struggling to deliver on promises so I'm starting to feel like having a big brand like Logitech is a welcome safety net

      As a Logitech user and mx line user since more than a decade: The streamdeck has beside the dial thing all things and much more.
      Logitech has a track record for abandoning devices by leaving them without software updates. Like my Logitech craft advanced.

    I don't get how young creators are so blown away by big knobs. I know none of you ever probably cut 'tape to tape', but it was fast, efficient and was done with a minimum of buttons and two big knobs. So much television you know and love was made this way. This is a cool device, but it's oldschool and not revolutionary. This is back to the future for so many editors.

    • @learningcameras
      @learningcameras  2 месяца назад +1

      Haha...well I might not be as young as you think. When I was shooting on my own, we were in the miniDV standard def era so still a tape system with decks and plenty of knobs. I owned the Canon XL1 back then. But yeah, I wouldn't say the dial is revolutionary and I actually didn't focus on that part as much. It helps with a few tasks but obviously a dial doesn't speed up everything. What I'm more impressed at is the big players Logitech seems to be getting on board for native integration, the marketplace, and the custom functionality of the LCD buttons with apple scripts, shortcuts, and just tons of potential. That and the fact that this is basically only $20 right now if you use Adobe or want to use Adobe with 3 months free

      @@learningcameras I stumped up and bought one for that reason, but the clincher was seeing chatgpt writing a basic script you could drop in as well. I do a lot of live production and this can surely be mapped to work as a replay controller in the likes of vmix etc. I also do a lot more audio work these days, so am exploring workflow solutions for the likes of Descript and Reaper to speed things up. There are gains to be had if you're smart about workflow. Fun fact: about the old XL1, parts of 28 Days Later were actually shot with it

    @Dan Watson Does this work as a regular additional keyboard with hotkeys? Similar to the elgato streamdeck? Just wondering if I can map keys to this without having to use all the fancy templates in their marketplace? I would like to use a different app which is not for video/photo editing. My main interest is the Knob (dial) to control faders. Is there any way you can test this out with vMix or any similar tool?

    • @learningcameras
      @learningcameras  Месяц назад

      Yes, you can map keys to this in like 10 seconds without having to use the marketplace. But for the dial, I'm not sure how to map that to a fader with a program that doesn't directly offer integration with the Logitech. I tried to make it work and I haven't been able to get that yet...it could be possible but while I was able to map keyboard shortcuts and other actions to the buttons no problem with every application, the dial I think needs to have software integration

      I have a tourbox but my issue is the layout is complex, hard to develop muscle memory for, and kind of jumbled...it's like they threw 1 of everything in it which looks cool and seems cool until you actually try to make it faster than mouse clicks and it usually falls short.
