This is obviously an example of a positive experience but imagine how tough it must be for GMs to tell players that they didn't make a team or are sending them down, etc.

Especially with what he went through and all the work and sacrifice his family put into it. I’m sure a lot of the emotion was from knowing that all their hard work paid off

i dont think people have any idea how precarious a job being in the nhl in. Its a long shot and best and even when you get there its no guarantee you stay. Good to see some good stories come out of this.

I hope he invests wisely what salary he gets and not go out and blow it all on some stupid whim. Any pro career is never a certainty, injury can kill it in an instant. I wish Cody an amazing career but be wise and invest for the future !! Athletes often retire in their 30's (if they are lucky enough) and after inflicting severe punishment to their bodies are often in pain from the abuse. I do hope he has a very long career, stay healthy Cody !

So glad the canucks didn't draft Cody glass. I wanted him so badly at the time but what a relief I wasn't in charge of drafting. Glad to see him make the team tho, way to go kid!
