They should never get rid of Living with the Land. It is iconic, and important for researching hydroponics and aqua culture and the integration between the two. There is some need for updating.
@@as25437 I think he might be referring to the video montage that plays right before you get to the actual green house. I'm tired of seeing the same "exciting innovations in farming, like growing seaweed on land" that I've seen for nearly 3 decades now lmao.
The first (and last) time I went on this ride was in 2012 and it was such a ghost town that me and my BF were the only two people on the ride. Felt a little outdated, but I enjoyed seeing/knowing that they were growing food sustainably on site and then serving it there. Felt like true EPCOT to me.
It is one of my favorite attractions at the park, hearing about and seeing all the technology used to make agriculture was always really interesting. Also Bob Moline was a great songwriter. His songs were catchy and easy to listen to. I'm going to have Energy (You Make The World Go 'Round) stuck in my head for days now.
I love that Bob Moline still has holds influence over Epcot's soundtrack to this day. Most guests (including myself at one time) have no idea that much of Epcot's current soundtrack comes from a lot of great past compositions.
Probably my favorite ride today in EPCOT. I'm glad you mentioned the Behind the Seeds tour. It's a great small group tour that doesn't require a lot of money or reservations months in advance. Thanks Sam!
Beth Schogren I also was there on opening day, the ride facts were so amazing that I wanted to ride it again as I felt I missed ALOT. mom took me to Imagination Pavillion and I forgot to go back
Living with the land has always been my go to ride every time I visit Epcot. The originality of it as well as keeping to the true meaning of Epcot is quite special to me. I would be devastated if they took it away, Epcot is still going through a lot of changes
It was not necessary for this incredible video, but Bob Moline put the tune to Randy Bright's lyrics for "Golden Dream." His friends remember him fondly before his surprising death from a motorcycle accident. I treasure my memories of the original ride-through at The Land. Thanks so much for this video!
I have always loved the O Canada song! That was an interesting exhibit. It was just standing room with railings built into the floor. This is because the visuals on the ceiling and upper part of the wall were some times filmed from a helicopter and gave the illusion the room was moving. You'd fall over if you weren't laying down or holding on to something. I think I was around 10 when I went on that ride and that and maelstrom will always be my favorite.
Angela and Glenn, the two cast members around 7:28. Two of my favorite cast members ever. I know Angela has since left, but I know Glenn is still there. Say hi to him if you are ever at the Land. Had to give them a shout out.
Working Living with the Land, you really learn to appreciate all the research and work that goes into both educating people on agriculture and agriculture itself.
Living with the Land and Spaceship Earth are what's left of Epcot's hayday. BTW, the songs are not extinct, as stated in the video. Loyal fans have kept them alive, and there is actually an album full of the old Epcot tracks... It's rare, but I have seen one copy in my life.
I used to listen to my 80s cassette tape of epcot music...loved energy, Canada and golden dreams. Universe of energy is sweet too. Didn't know that one guy wrote all 3
This is one of the few rides I remember as a kid when we went to Epcot. Loved it. Living on a farm I knew a lot about growing stuff but it was so cool to learn about the hydroponic systems.
Been waiting for this! THANK YOU! This ride will never go, as it provides food for much of the restaurants in disney. I was lucky enough to get a magic moments on this ride.
Listen to the laaannnd, listen to the land!!! Man, I miss that song and all the original EPCOT rides. Great vid and thanks for info and makes sense same writer for Canada (love that song - my mother is from Newfoundland), Universe of Energy and American Adventure. Keep up the great work!
I was waiting for this video almost exclusively for that song. So catchy! I didn't know Bob Moline made so many songs for Disney attractions. Impressive!
I vividly remember living with the land from when I went to Disney in 2006(?). Specifically the desert scene and greenhouses. Don’t know why, but it must have left a big impression on 7 year old me.
Lol i was watching the history of the land pavilion when you uploaded!! Happy for the new content! I love your voice, editing, and videos! Thanks for the great video! Lol also, never realized how extra the listen to the land song is 😂
I've been looking everywhere to see if I can find the original Canada song (like the version sampled in this video) and I've completely come up empty handed and I am devastated. At least it's easy to find the original listen to the land song on RUclips
Behind the Seeds is great, as well as the Attraction Itself. I almost always ride it just before my fastpass for Soarin' because it usually has pretty short lines.
I went to the American Adventuer for the first time last week it was Amazing but its funny you mentioned that cause i asked who sang that song cause i really liked it and no one could answer it even the casr members i asked THANKS SAM!!
Unfortunately that's the third or fourth version of that song, not the original that he mentioned in the video. The current version debuted early 2018.
Great video, as always. Would love to see one about Dragon Khan at PortAventura. It's interesting it's impact when it opened, how it supposed to be an Arrow coaster and it's relationship with Disney, as PortAventura is a response of Disney finally going to Paris and not staying in Barcelona Spain. Thanks for your videos!
I love this ride me and my family love growing crops so this is cool and we have taken the tour last year well worth it though they dnt have samples of the food to eat when I went on it they did let us plant a crop and touch a plant that did cool stuff well worth it. Great video as always
I haven't been to WDW since '91, but I remember Listen to the Land, and the Universe of Energy song. I don't think I'd want to go back to EPCOT now, too many things I loved are gone.
I have alot of issues with the direction of Epcot vs the old 1980's/90''s Futureworld ... but this is one of the rides/attractions I am HAPPY that is still there
Sure do miss the original songs. The way Disney removes such memorable content is why I get nervous every time they do a rehab or redo of their attractions. It seems they want to squeeze the joy and uniqueness out of everything.
i went to epoct around christmas last time so seeing some of the modern parts during christmas in this made me happy, this is one of my fave diseny attractions despite it being kinda "boring"
I went to an agricultural high school, owned by the Chicago Public Schools system and located on the last working farm in the Chicago city limits. When I went on Living With The Land, it made me wish I had paid more attention to my agricultural classes.
Am i wrong, or is the writer of the songs Robert Moline, and not Bob Moline, as said in this clip? I can only find Robert Moline as the writer of these songs.
As an allotmenteer, the greenhouse sections was amazing and looking forward to implementing some ideas I got from the ride onto the allotment. Was going to do the behind the seeds tour but decided not to. One thing that would have been cool, if they were selling seeds from the greenhouse in the small gift shop outside. Would have been cool to grow some veggies from Disney world. ^_^
Great vid. Suggestion: Disney’s Hollywood studios backlot tour/ catastrophe canyon. (Not sure if there’s a lot of subject matter on it but just a suggestion:))
Honestly this ride was... odd... Its buried so deep in the pavilion we only found it via the map and it isn't really marketed much. It was also realistically very dated with most of the technologies shown being pretty outdated nowadays. Compared to the modern farms you see nowadays i don't even know how i would really describe it. If they kept it up to date it might be more interesting, but when i went on it it felt like i knew more than disney did in regards to modern farming techniques and i've just watched some more up-to-date documentaries. That isn't to say i'd have any idea how to go about it and i fully imagine the people who run the greenhouses are extremely skilled and knowledgeable about what they do, but the information given and the techniques on display could really have done with an update as science does change, and the technology that might once have amazed people when this ride was built just seems boring compared to what has been made since thanks to advancements in farming technology.
Great video once again :) but where did u get the last part from, the guy playing the guitar on the boat it had me and my husband in stitches I would love to see more of that. Also same as what someone else said where is the dog from? I don't recognise it xx
It’s from the Epcot opening video celebration video! Such a good watch. Also the dog is the same as the pirates dog. Or at least the animatronic! Thank you
LOL That guy is Roy Clark, big country western artist from the 60s and 70s and probably one of the greatest guitar players of all times. Even rock guitarist into the 90s and 2000s will name him as one of their inspirations.
This ride is both a piece of history and the future at the same time. It's a treasure
They should never get rid of Living with the Land. It is iconic, and important for researching hydroponics and aqua culture and the integration between the two. There is some need for updating.
Jason Motsinger I honestly don't think there is any reason to update it. I like it the way it is and make sure to ride it everytime I go to Epcot
If they're going to get rid of it, they'd probably keep the farms and get rid of the ride track and scenes
@@as25437 I think he might be referring to the video montage that plays right before you get to the actual green house. I'm tired of seeing the same "exciting innovations in farming, like growing seaweed on land" that I've seen for nearly 3 decades now lmao.
There are a lot of things they should have never gotten rid of like the Universe of Energy.

I just got a Disney ad watching this. I really like this ride, mainly during the hot days.
The first (and last) time I went on this ride was in 2012 and it was such a ghost town that me and my BF were the only two people on the ride. Felt a little outdated, but I enjoyed seeing/knowing that they were growing food sustainably on site and then serving it there. Felt like true EPCOT to me.

Also Bob Moline was a great songwriter. His songs were catchy and easy to listen to. I'm going to have Energy (You Make The World Go 'Round) stuck in my head for days now.
Ha you are welcome! I’m singing golden dreams all day
I love that Bob Moline still has holds influence over Epcot's soundtrack to this day. Most guests (including myself at one time) have no idea that much of Epcot's current soundtrack comes from a lot of great past compositions.
Listen to the Land is so catchy! I just wish it was on Spotify
Probably my favorite ride today in EPCOT. I'm glad you mentioned the Behind the Seeds tour. It's a great small group tour that doesn't require a lot of money or reservations months in advance. Thanks Sam!
My pleasure!
I am old enough to remember the original Living with the Land. How I was impressed and amazed how you could grow food without soil.

Listen to the Land was such a catchy song
Literally my favorite ride for some reason
Still blast that theme song every time i'm gardening.
Always loved this ride. A fun simple ride. Glad it’s still hanging in there.
I play the Listen to the Land song on my headphones every time I ride Living With The Land now.
It's awesome that Disney still uses the ideas from this, the eco friendly villages naturel hotel in Paris has a farm!!
The "Behind The Seeds" Tour....is awesome, we do it on every trip to Epcot
Living with the land has always been my go to ride every time I visit Epcot. The originality of it as well as keeping to the true meaning of Epcot is quite special to me. I would be devastated if they took it away, Epcot is still going through a lot of changes
Please do at least 25 more Epcot videos! These are fantastic. Love the Expedition Epcot series!
Well I do have world showcase and some more topics in future world so we shall see! Thanks though
It was not necessary for this incredible video, but Bob Moline put the tune to Randy Bright's lyrics for "Golden Dream." His friends remember him fondly before his surprising death from a motorcycle accident. I treasure my memories of the original ride-through at The Land. Thanks so much for this video!
Great video. I worked this ride for a summer in the late 80s, so this took me back. Thank you :)
My favorite ride in Epcot

“Eliminateing starvation “
Restaurants in Disney: iceberg water,$120
Those Bob Moline songs are iconic and remain my soundtrack to EPCOT.
Wonderfully done, as always!!!
Thanks as always Jackie!
This is one of the few rides I remember as a kid when we went to Epcot. Loved it. Living on a farm I knew a lot about growing stuff but it was so cool to learn about the hydroponic systems.
I love Living with the Land. I’ve been on it twice and I’m still amazed at it!
I still love Golden Dreams, it gives me tingles every time!
Americaaaaaa

Listen to the land is such a huge part of my childhood.
This is my FAVORITE attraction in Epcot. I never miss it and now my six year old adores it as well! 😍
This has always been my go to show. I have always loved living with the land.
This was by far my favorite attraction in Epcot.
I love this ride to death

Highly enjoyable and nostalgic journey Sam! Ty
My Mum always liked this ride.
Behind the Seeds is great, as well as the Attraction Itself. I almost always ride it just before my fastpass for Soarin' because it usually has pretty short lines.
It’s the one and only attraction that has people working it and using it.
I went to the American Adventuer for the first time last week it was Amazing but its funny you mentioned that cause i asked who sang that song cause i really liked it and no one could answer it even the casr members i asked THANKS SAM!!
Oh my pleasure Jeff thanks as always

My favorite ride at Epcot. YES YES AND YEEESS. Great choice Sam
Love the Behind the Seeds tour. The cucumbers are so fresh and yummy!
Nice mention about Walt's Dog from Pirates and Carousel of Progress
Never been to disneyland/world/park but this is something that would be cool to experience, specially the behind the seeds tour.
I love this ride me and my family love growing crops so this is cool and we have taken the tour last year well worth it though they dnt have samples of the food to eat when I went on it they did let us plant a crop and touch a plant that did cool stuff well worth it. Great video as always

Maybe I’m a nerd but till this day the only time I mention visiting Disney is when I’m telling someone about how kick ass their farming setup is
It’s amazing how kitchen kaberte (Sorry about spelling) is sitting abandoned right next to this
I've been waiting for this video! Thanks Sam!

I always look forward to these!!
This is one of my favorite attractions in all of Walt Disney World.

Expedition Theme Park
Can’t wait for more GREAT videos.
My sister worked as the speaking cast member. It was a horrible speil because it was so long and too much to remember
omfg the second i heard that music i was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
In a good way!
no, i fucking hated the canada show as a kid, also the doors closed on me once so it was always a bad memory
I remember them still playing the land song on the ride
For future reference: Spiel is pronounced SHPEEL. I have only just found your channel and I am enjoying your videos. Thank you.🙂🌷
Can you send a link to the first video commercial of the land
The only gripe I have is that the "exit" lights are distracting. I know they're necessary, but it takes something out of the dioramas.
10:05 get the hype train a-rollin'!!!
Let’s get this train to studios rolling
Expedition Theme Park after that, the train will be headed to a castle, overlooking a lake in Staffordshire.
rip that soundtrack, I'll miss it
apparently some one fell off the ride trying to steal a cucumber
Am i wrong, or is the writer of the songs Robert Moline, and not Bob Moline, as said in this clip? I can only find Robert Moline as the writer of these songs.
They should not have removed the narrators. I was there on day one
why do I feel when I went on it in 2017 it was shorter or was I mistaken. I only went once so ya. I hardly remember how long it was tho
If there weren't always canopies on the boats, then where were the speakers ?
Ooh almost there! Is there something special about missing out the wonders of life?
Just that it’s super interesting!
Expedition Theme Park I can agree on that
RIP Living with the Land song 😢
The first scene looks like the literature scene of journey into imagination
Sorry. The arts. God I’m tired

Thank you I will do it on my Expedition Hollywood Studios series
If you're craving Catastrophe Canyon, better head to Paris and ride their copy before it gets torn out in 2019/2020.
Where is the dog from?
It uses the same mold/design as the current Rover from Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress as well as Pirates of the Caribbean.

Same animatronic as pirates dog!
Interesting. I always thought he was a relative of Rover from Carousel of Progress.
I think they are all related actually!
Listen to the land
Me: ok. ( puts eat to ground) I don’t hear anythig
Listen closer!
LOL!
I've actually never been on this ride. As a kid it always looked boring. Guess next time I'm there I'll give it a go.
