11:56 these last three chapters were sooo good, i love the dynamic established here, it was so well done. in three chapters it added so much characterization to morena, through her own words, and to borksen through her actions. i love this arc so much.
@@fakesmile172 A lot of things are inspired by jojo in hxh. Biohazard and Time Skip are like part 5 abilities. Palm is very similar to Yukako, hair powers, yandere tendecies and design wise. The Urn works like the arrows and the Kakin Nen Beasts are similar to stands, with Halkenburg mimicking exactly the scene of Jotaro's shooting himself.
Oh, the content of the various announcements leads me to believe that whatever happened, happened in Tier 3 while the Halkenbury was on its way to Tier 2, meaning the connection was open (which is confirmed by Bork hearing it close). So it's probably Halkenburg-related. Side note, the difference between the Tier 3 and Tier 2 announcements might be meant to highlight just how stratified Kakin's society is: Tier 3 passengers are all regarded as suspects and forced to kneel for inspection, while Tier 2 passengers only need to return to their rooms.
Man seeing Volkson win was so rewarding but then the feeling was wiped clean after she picked the Yes card. Also didn't even clock the cheating bit, great analysis as always
11:41 Your insight is great. As a native Japanese speaker, I didn't notice it when I read this chapter this morning. she acutually answer the question as her own subject in JP version as well. Thank you for making a interesting content.
9:46 one addition to this is that, given the fact martial law has been enacted, and Borks position as a soldier, and her current location, she could theoretically grind easy xp by killing anyone who disobeys martial law to get the ability faster (plus it would be legal)
Bork's a nice girl! I know people are theorizing ways for her to hit level 100 really fast but I'm not sure they're taking her personality much into account... plus she doesn't need to level up that much to be formidable. Her Specialist ability is already going to be a game-changer.
i think there is a distinction in authority between someone like borksen, who is a private guard, and kakin royal soldiers like benjamin’s. not sure tho.
I'm not so sure about the Martial Law stuff. It might make sense to focus on Tier 3 but it wouldn't make sense to ignore Tiers 4 and 5 completely if it was Mafia-related. Remember in 394 it was said that Benjamin and the Ministry of Justice are looking for *any* excuse to get rid of the Mafia in general and start a purge, so Xi-Yu and Cha-R should be targeted just as much. My prediction is that Benjamin figured out Halkenburg is somehow still alive (whether that's due to his next move failing or not is hard to say) and is now looking for every Halkenburg supporter he can find, hence the focus on Tiers 2 and 3 and forcing the civilians to show their hands, to hunt for anyone who has the feather mark on them (it's implied that it's visible to non Nen users earlier on in the arc). He may also just be freaking out that his ability can still activate after death with his supporters' devotion, so he's trying to both identify, separate and disrupt them. Updated thoughts: It's possible that this may even be a scheme by Halkenburg. Like what if he called Benjamin and reported something to him that justified Martial Law (something like a mass fainting at the funeral procession that would indicate Halkenburg's ability at work), then as soon as Benjamin does so, Kaiser's scheme comes into play, which Halkenburg may know about based on how chapter 403 ended.
I think if it was a prince death that sparked the martial law announcement then surely Tier 1 would be fully locked down since that would be the scene of the crime. Instead they’re told that they’re just gonna inspect rooms and then they can go back to normal.
According to Togashi's tweets about chapter 410, we'll have more Borksen and Morena (their hair and clothes appear) and two double-page spreads of what appear to be characters in suits, like Kurapika. I don't know if there will be a cliffhanger.
Balsamilco had a theory that Halkenburg used the suicide in front of Luzurus room to prepare his assasination via one of his mothers men, maybe thats what happened.
It seems like balsamilco was half right about that situation. The guy from the hunter association name Rice, (the one that answers the phone/door), seems to been the one that halkenberg shot his arrow into for the assassination and not one of his mother's men.
@CalmDubs Its possible. But i dont think Halk shooted another arrow because his men, via kurapika, were aware of the rumbling of aura they produced so stealth possesing someone might not be possible. Halk didnt have a full understanding of his ability mechanics by that time so the suicide was both a test and a lure to grab everyones attencion and using his mother personal guard in that room to do something. I think poisoning Luz drugs is the most realistic way to kill him without activating his GB.
@guilhermesilva-xg7gy the 3rd rumbling is the only rumbling where we didn't see the outcome and unless they didn't shoot like the first one it's almost certain they shot Rice since no one was actually looking to see what happened with the rumbling. Just knowing he rumbling happened doesn't mean much because balsa felt the rumbling too but couldn't react to it since since he got shot through a wall. If Rice got shot through a wall no one would notice because no one was looking at him at the time.
Choosing the Yes card is her best chance of surviving the whole trip (especially because she can awaken Nen), while also being the best option to try to bring Morena down. No equals death. And the X card just means she dies later on this trip and doesn’t learn Nen so will likely die as a consequence of some other random event. At the end of the day, “Yes” was really the only answer she could choose.
She for sure cheated. Which is funny since I don't believe Morena specifically stated that cheating is not allowed. Just that herself will not cheat. Bork marked the No card and she tapped it to comfirm before she slid it to morena. I'm so excited to see what type of specialist she becomes hopefully a counter to 4 princess Nen.
My guess for what happened: The three Heil-ly members who were LV 51 fought Hinrigh on a public area of Tier 3 and lots of people got caught on the crossfire and killed, so authorities declared martial law to search for the surviving Heil-ly members who escaped the scene. Hinrigh probably beat their asses again
My main prediction from the beginning has been that everything going on the ship, from Morena, to wild cards like Hisoka, The Phantom Troupe, etc. have all been within expected parameters for the Succession War. The next Kakin king must be able to deal with threats on their life as well as Kakin as a whole if Kakin is to continue and prosper. I truly think that after all the machinations of Morena, Chrollo, and even Kurapika, the Succession War will come to its rightful conclusion and it will end with one Prince remaining and thus becoming the next King of Kakin. Kakin will live on. Kurapika will have to decide if he’s willing to sacrifice his goals and even his life if he would like to see Wobel alive by the end of this arc. For most of this arc he’s thinking he can just get them on a boat and get them out (while as readers we all knew what had happened to Kacho). He’s been dodging the game of the Succession War but eventually he’s gonna have to decide to really participate and help Wobel win or leave her to be devoured. The only way I’d be disappointed by this arc if it ends by Kurapika dodging the succession war by some wiz kid plan, or cheating it in someway. I think it’s more brutal if he’s forced to participate and actually help Wobel or give up on her altogether.
Heres a list of most theories for martial law I could find in case anyone's interested: - Benjamin finds out (or is told purposefully by Balsamilkenburg) that Halkenburg is alive - Kaiser-Fugetsu-Melody assassination of Luzurus is successful (less likely bc would not involve tier 3 as much) - External assassination of Zhang-Lei/Luzurus (less likely bc would not involve tier 3 as much) - A swapped Halkenburg guard succeds/fails in killing Luzurus, somehow alerting Benjamin that he is alive - Unknown Kaiser shenanigans??? - Hinrigh vs Hei-ly conflict escalates to massacre (unlikely, since it wouldn't be displayed to tier 1-2 if it was the case) - Chrollo and/or Dogman shenanigans??? (least likely)
I saw somewhere that since it was announced that the army is looking for something and not someone, maybe Chrollo was successful in stealing one or all Kakin treasures, and in the next chapters we're going to see how that happened. I think it's a very interesting theory.
i do like the idea that nasubi basically placed morena on the boat as a bomb to deal with. It feels weird for Morenna to go along with the king but I think they could have talked and Nasubi just said something like, do what you like, go ahead and kill me and all of kakin hui. Then gave her a room and told the legal system to twiddle there thumbs to make conflict.
second comment- I really wonder if it’s a coincidence that the specialist Morena is trying to recruit is a childhood friend of Tseri when there clearly seems to be bad blood between Morena and Tseri. add to that the fact that Morena surely is clever enough to see Bork isn’t entirely agreeing to an on the level alliance with her…
I think Zhang Lei is dead. People talk about death flags in the recent crop of chapters, but I don’t see anyone talking about how grim Zhang’s odds are looking. In-universe, being one of the mafia princes puts one of the largest targets on his head, and his passive self-assured attitude is certainly not the best mindset for such a vicious competition. On a meta level, his story has just concluded. Kurapika has both gotten everything he needs out of him and determined that he cannot be a truly trustable ally, and we’ve finally solved the mystery of his coins. Given that his intended life path requires him to overthrow all of the other princes and then wait for his rule as King of Kakin, two things that seem increasingly unlikely as the chaos spirals, there’s just no way. And then most damningly we have the classic Togashi subversion. He’s been hyping up a Luzurus assassination, so much like when people thought “the truth of Halkenburg’s birth” was going to be about Netero, I think the declaration of martial law will be over Zhang’s death. Pretty silly to think that the small handful of characters we’ve been following on this ship of thousands are the only people cooking up assassination plots, we’ve already seen several others. Hell, with how interested in siding with Kurapika Silent Majority seems, maybe they killed Zhang after their meeting went iffy, which will make Kurapika the prime suspect, which could land him in the justice bureau within sneezing distance of the Heil Ly and Phantom Troupe showdown, which is now starting to pull in Tserriednich’s crew? Come on, this would be tight.
I really think that she picked Yes in order to learn Nen. This is the fastest way to learn Nen and she can always make an ability on her own. There is no compulsion to murder for levels, so by saying Yes she gains Nen and doesn’t die.
I am completely in the camp of Borkson staying and going "I can fix her" or rather, make the evil woman nice to me. I also guess stopping her from killing everyone is also a valid reason.
Yeah I told the negotiation game was Morena Hatsu, I only thought it was a separate ability... And, it was pretty obvious to me that Borksen would say yes at the end of the negotiation. It made sense story telling wise to her do so.
Just want to point out that, while I do think you're right when pointing out that Borksen's answer "It's not a mistake" in the last panel is an inversion of the power dynamics, considering the panel composition with the card "Yes" sharing the focus with Borksen, we could read it as "Yes, It's not a mistake" and that changes everything as it would be a "Yes" answering a negative question. Idk that thought just crossed my mind as I saw the last panel at 12:05.
And yeah, Borksen outright stated "No" before saying "It's not a mistake", I just found the panelling interesting, with the "Yes" card opposing the "No" answer.
I have to think that the compromise question was what convinced Borksen. It can’t have been the membership loophole since borksen picked the X after learning about that and I doubt its about the location of the hideout since borksen still seems adamant about leaving even after figuring it out. Also that negative question thing was super clever I totally missed that.
Big note: Borksen were informed she got infected by the kiss. So there's possibly her realising she's effectively become a pawn for Morena's infection.
hey Otter. I feel like Togashi’s recent pattern of batch-writing storyboards has made the 10th chapters not wrap the plot of each book up in a nice bow and has more resulted in a typical mini-cliffhanger as if the next chapter were coming in a week (rather than say, 4 years 😑).. as for this impending hiatus, earlier last month Togashi said due to personal circumstances progress would be sporadic until the end of November and well it certainly has been- now the question is now that November is over will he pick the pace back up or will this spiral into another long period of inactivity
1. I think Borksen used her nail to imprint the back of the card lightly. I'm wondering if she will end up with the ability that Morena intends even though it's VERY likely she did cheat. I think it will still be the ability Morena intends since Morena herself played by the rules, but I believe that Morena's totally cool with Borksen cheating as long as she doesn't factually detect it. That would probably hamper things if revealed, so I don't think Morena knows or factually detected anything. Wouldn't the ability itself lose power if Morena intentionally overlooked any clear chicainery? I think there has to be a boundary of plausible deniability or shit gets bad. 2. The kiss might activate Nen while still allowing the later imprint of Contagion abilities. I kinda thought Bork might have been using Gyo while intently looking at the table but that requires many assumptions. It would make sense for Morena to be able to grant agency in this way though, and there may have been some other ramification that helps inform Borksen of what is what if this did occur. 3. I think the repeated "I will never under any circumstances change my goal" was what sealed the decision, but I think Morena having control over what ability Borksen gets is only slightly less ominous for Borksen than Tserreidnich's Nen Beast marking Theta is for Theta. Will Borksen still be herself when the three conditions are complete? No fucking clue but Togashi is cooking with TNT. 4. There aren't many creators in this sphere that are highly competent but I generally like what Manganimist and Berserkdude are putting down if you're in the collaboration business in the future. I hate to be this guy but if No Operator can do it you can do it better, and I think most people know it (No Op isn't terrible but he's very mid when it comes to HxH at least).
One thing that it is in my mind a lot recently after that chapter is the conversation right before they turned the cards, the words being, (points at morenas card) "if that's return, i die" "if THIS is return i'll forget everything that happened here."(her card) "alright then..." (says morena) look that she didn't mention card X but card RETURN, meaning that by technicality she can choose yes and still leave as if she chose the card X because she and morena agreed on this, maybe bolk is trying to scam morena out of her ability and leave with it and all the info, this may br the most bananas theory of all but it's been eating my brain and i have to to mention to somewhere.
When I read Borken's thoughts about vows and limitatitons after Morena choose her words carefully, I thought Borksen would make an effort to make Morena lie, that way her whole nen ability would fail due to a breach of vow. It would have been a smart way to get out of the situation.
There's gonna be a ton of fanart of the kiss, isn't there... Excited to see what Borkson's ability will be. It's crazy how well and how quickly Togashi can make me like a character that barely appeared previously. If we can get 2 volumes a year that would be amazing. Looks like Togashi just got another unspecified surgery, so who knows.
Agh, I really hope we don't get left hanging on the cause of martial law next week for all of the hiatus. Think you're probably right about it being caused by the death of a mafia sponsor. Morena and Borksen have been a really interesting little duo in these chapters and I'm curious to see where they'll go from here. Sure would be a shame if two hostile nen users suddenly showed up at the hideout to help Bork to level 20 for her ability! (Feitan and Phinks fans should probably be a little worried.)
I think the big surprise will be whatever her ability will manifest with her being a specialist who probably doesn't align with the Heil-y's goals, I think the ability will be a big factor to the downfall of the Heil-y if Togashi wants to take her down that road
@@flaviomadeiramirandafilho3469 It could be possible, Contagion is an extremely complex and powerful ability, so it would require a complex activation.
I really want Volksen to say yes to gain her specialist ability fast since sharing the same goal with Morena is not one of the three rules she could gain the ability than betraying them or escape than Crollo would find her and take her ability to kill Hisoka 😂
Imagine Burksen forming a pact with her nen to allow her to have 100 levels since the beginning and the restriction is every time she kills loses X amount of levels until it reaches 0 then she Will lose her nen. This could allow her to create her own group to deliver nen to her friends increacing their chances to survive, as she currently knows the nen afinity of the hai-ly and that could have a chance to counter them or qt least give them a fight. Also Morena did not mention to Burksen that she is capable of watching the hai-ly members. I wander if is she goes back to tserrinich if she would be able to see his nen through Burksen eyes...
@@patheticgirl433 I did try it but too much shipping that I can't take it seriously. A joke here and there is fine but when someone is pushing an agenda its annoying. HxH has never been about romance so "doomed yuri" is a huge and unfounded assumption. Otter made a joke about the kiss and moved on to analyzing the wealth of info in the chapter. Thats what I look for in analysis and review.
The difference in the martial law orders may just come down to number and quality of passengers. Tier 2 is a VIP area. It has fewer and more important people. Benjamin has a vested interest in not antagozing them any more than necessary.
didnt watch the video yet, but i KNOWWWW togashi has been waiting to do a card parlor scene ever since he was accused of plagiarism in yu yu hakusho chapter black, and he finally did it! :D what restraint this man has, but what resolve.
I predict that either Luzarus is dead, or Halkenmico took over the first prince's body and implemented martial law. If Halkenberg did take over the body, does that mean he'd have access to his nen abilities as well? Bc if so, then he can work on killing his henchmen for more abilities.
I think Morena was surprised, i don't think she detected cheating. I think she was questioning how up until Borksen chose the YES card. Which I think made her forget about everything that happened prior , because I genuinely think Morena really thought she wasn't going to join.
Something that I think is probably a possibility is that when morena looked at borksen after she (probably) cheated she might have realized that borksen was cheating. I also think it’s probable that if Morena knew borksen had cheated her way to the X card Morena would kill her anyway. That means that Borksen might have realized that Morena knew she cheated and that the only safe way out was to use the bring back card to choose yes.
I’m sure you’d be great, they do like a chapter review for a bit and then move onto answering community comments. You should totally check them out they’ve been having quality hxh RUclipsrs like yourself as guests recently!
My guess it's Zhang Lei who's dead. Its a nice subversion since he was only ever set up for the future, and Luzurus would be the too obvious other candidate right now (pls Melody don't kill the chill pothead). I already thought he was the weakest camp in the whole succession right now, while still having a big target on him as a high ranking prince. One rampant Nen user would be able to wipe him and his whole camp out since there are next to no obvious defenses in his room. The guardian beast doesn't do anything, and Coventoba would just let it happen, while immediately informing Benjaming and everyone else. The mafia connections are the only thing that protected him. The mafia would ofc have to declare war on whoever did it, and if a Hei-ly member did, they even got a ton of points out of it.
Tier 3 isn't being targeted on it's own. Tier 2 required people to go to their room and wait for the MP to check in on them. Just a difference in class leniency. Or so I thought reading the chapter.
Agree with your comments that Borksen was cheating. Too many panels focusing on her hands touching the cards and her “accident” wrinkling the return card, give me a break! My theory why she joined fake Morena is that she believes that the threat to Kakin is too high.
People have been banned in yugioh for intentionally forcing their nail into specific cards and marking them. But the example im thinking of; the player marked specific cards of their opponent, and made it look as if the opponent had marked the strongest cards in their deck, and thus forced the opponent to receive a game loss
IIRC Halkenburg's funeral was around noon on Thursday and the Luzurus plan was set for Thursday evening. Borksen was kidnapped during the funeral and we see morning light during the card game. Doesn't this mean it's now Friday morning and the Luzurus plan has already happened? Although I'm still skeptical about the Luzurus plan. There's a couple panels that make it look like Melody and Kacho are uncertain of Kaiser and, truth be told, Melody should know how dumb the plan is. Luzurus has a Guardian Spirit Beast and they don't know what its ability is. Also, if Benjamin and Balsamilco determined the GSBs won't attack a prince, you'd think a professional hunter with full information on the princes through the justice bureau would also piece together that the GSBs won't attack a prince, meaning Fugetsu wasn't attacked by Luzurus. We also know Melody and Kacho have a way of communicating without anyone hearing it, so I'm skeptical of anything they say out loud to each other, but Melody did say in her head that she needs Kaiser still, so maybe I'm giving them too much credit. It's Hunter x Hunter, characters do make mistakes.
I take the light to mean it's still the same day, but it's true it could be the next day - I just don't suppose Morena would choose to wait that long to try and recruit Bork. She sounded in 394 like she was in a hurry.
@@ExtraOtter By "wait" do you mean she wouldn't wait for the funeral and grabbed Bork before it or do you mean you think she'd forcibly wake her up? We know she went missing during the funeral procession, so I assume that's when she was kidnapped by Sodom. We don't know how Sodom's ability works, but Bork wakes up sitting in the seat across from Morena. My understanding was that Sodom put her to sleep, they carried her to the hideout and then waited for her to wake up. Since it's a Nen ability, it might have a set time for how long it knocks people out (so they could've known when she'd wake up and weren't just sitting around staring at her the whole time) and it might be that it knocks them out for quite awhile. Actually, I feel like it should knock them out for awhile, since it doesn't work on Nen users, so it has to be better than just smacking someone in the head, but we have examples of Nen users knocking other Nen users out for hours, so if you were to create an ability that knocks people out, it must be stronger than that, right? Sodom's a back alley doctor who's agreed to participate in mass murder, I feel like his ability must take you out for several hours. However, several hours after the funeral would be Thursday evening, and we see light outside when martial law is called. I actually didn't notice the light, I saw other people point it out and assert it's symbolizing morning. It's possible it's not and this is actually Thursday afternoon, I'm not a light doctor.
@@Malumultimus It's just light through the clouds, we don't know. And yeah, I do assume they more or less controlled when Bork would wake up and it happened pretty quick. Feels even more likely now that we've heard the bulkhead closing (why would it be open at all on the next day?).
@ yeah but this to me seem like the set up to the death, he doesn’t have his sword so he’s nerfed, he’s between the two floors, and if you remember she says the public can get to her. Feitan and Phinks are being lead the wrong way, we now know the hide out is not where they’re being taken, and nobunaga is closer to the hot spot. Hisoka might kill him (the joker)
We lack info about the mechanism and rules for martial law, but my guess is that no Prince has died: after all, level 1 has very little restrictions, the problem seems concentrated in level 3. But what could have happened there? The only thing we know is that a huge crowd of Halkenburg supporters has massed, *as he requested*. We also know that Balsamilco/Halkenburg has gone to report to Benjamin; therefore my best guess is that Halkenburg did take control of Benjamin and used his new identity to send B's royal Army away from lvl 1, right into lvl 3 to get picked up/bodyswapped by H's partisans. Two, no, three problems with my own theory that maybe others can help with: -can H's partisans use his same ability? I would think an egalitarian prince like him would have an "egalitarian" group power, but I'm assuming things here. -how did Halkenburg manage to bodyswap with Benjamin? He can fire blind through walls and all defenses, but he still needs partisans near him, the exact location of Benjamin, and the swap is random. -the power is not very discreet and causes a huge nen rumbling felt through the whole ship. None of the nen users around Volksen seem to be distracted by something like that. (The rumbling Volsen hears is the closing of the giant stairway between levels 2 and 3)
I think Borksen marked the cards while "checking if Morena cheated". Idk if she could do that in front of everyone, but its the most likely strategy in a card game.
I think the crackdown on tier 3 indicates that theyre going after the heil-ly, seeing the diagram in ch. 378. I think this means both luzurus and chorizo were assassinated, or at least targeted, seeing as a mafia war is the easiest path to enact the martial law, and I dont think we know any other links between tiers 1 and 3. Unless the phantom troupe caused some major incident on tier 3 and were identified, but then it would still be weird not lookin for more of them on the lower tiers. I was of the opinion that 3rd prince chorizo would be a major endgame player due to the narrative limitations of his gsb's ability(and possibly betray kurapika/woble, because we need at least one backstab in this political death game). But now i think hes deaded (or they could have just killed the veggies, but i think thats less interesting)
kinda irrelevant but here's some stray thoughts I suspect chrollo wants to steal zombie girl ability that disposes of corpses, so he can manipulate hisoka's body before he come back to life what if Benjamin secret become public as kurapika intended by revealing queen oito's letter caused declaration of martial law speaking of Benjamin, I hope Togashi reveals why he hates tserri specifically, he looks down on camilla and kinda respects halk and wants to kill him only for the throne, but he seems to genuinely loathes his younger full brother dogman is becoming a very interesting character, I suspect beside his enhanced smelling he can has superhuman strength but only when using wrestle moves; it would be a great restriction as wrestle moves look cool but not very efficient at killing a person and some are even hurtful to the person performing them maybe dogman joined the hei ly despite his successful wrestling career because he accidentally killed a fellow performer and got shocked when he got no backlash from it, so he realized no one's live has a value in entertainment business and become disillusioned great video btw
While I have enjoyed these past 2 chapters I genuinely hope Morena's nemesis isn't going to be Borksen. Some people have been comparing Borksen to Komugi but honestly its not the same situation at all. I kinda want the 4th prince to go up against Morena before his climax fight with Kurapika. Maybe have Chrollo going up against Morena would work too because Borksen is fine as side character not as a central character...
I didn't see the third floor having the most strict rules as it being the cause of the martial law, I think it's just the different classes getting different treatments based on their status. Even if the emergency was happening on the first floor I don't think they would make the first floor guests put their hands against the wall and wait for the army
Very true. I thought they same thing. Kakin doesn't care about the lower class. They aren't seen as a threat. It's usually the middle class citizen that are seen as threat. So their 3 got shafted. However Togashi is so goated that he could combine both ideas, making it so that the incident is also tier 3 related
Nah. It's logical to apply stricter protocols on the affected tier, bro. That's like saying if a prince was murdered on Tier 1, they would still target Tier 3, if a Mafia war started on Tier 5, they would still target Tier 3. It doesn't add up. The cause of the lockdown is evidently on Tier 3.
If a higher prince was killed they would target tier 1 but the way they would go about it will be smooth, they'll ask guests to return to their rooms and investigate one by one (just like what they're doing now) they won't make them face the wall and put their hands up like they're doing to tier 3@@Tomiwa101
@Bulletproof208 Bro, the incident CLEARLY happened in Tier 3. If it was classism, why would people in the middle class be treated worse than those in the lower class? Bro, the mass gathering is on Tier 3, not 1, 2, 4 or 5. And while announcing for Tier 4 and 5, they CLEARLY SAID the problems on the upper tier will be prevented from reaching the lower tiers. How is this a debate, bro? Sigh!
If the incident happened on tier 3 they would also be searching tier 4 since those responsible could've escaped to tier 4 but since the search stopped at tier 3 and didn't go any further that proves that the incident didn't happen there otherwise they would be searching tiers 2 and 4 and not Tier 1. Since they're searching 1,2,3 the incident either happened on tier 2 or tier 1 not tier 3@@Tomiwa101
I was thinking if Morena is re broadcasting the martial law announcement from her private quarters on tier 1, couldn't she just fake the announcement inside her base? I don't really think this happened, there are meta reasons to believe it was real, but Bork should have question this because of how convenient the timing was to make her fear for her life if she just walked out. Maybe she didn't question the announcement because she read sincerity in Morena's reaction but I would have liked it if we saw the doubt in her thought process at least up until the point she hears the main gate between tiers 2 and 3 completly closing which is probably a consecuence of martial law being implemented.
I'm hesitant to say Zhang Lei is dead as I feel like there's more to be done with his character. He's supposed to equally kind and cruel, right? But we haven't seen his "dark" side yet. However, if he is dead, perhaps the coins could have another effect we'd only see after his death
the three conditions for contagion are the most important part of the reason for borksen's change of heart imo. there are three, borksen has fullfilled two. the only reason to put three in the story and leave one unfullfilled is because it is going to come up. and its the murder one...
Sure, but how hard is it to fulfill that third one? The only reason I can think of not to murk a random civilian in front of her right after the game would be if you have an even crueler idea. Either way, shouldn't be a hard condition to satisfy.
@@ExtraOtterPLEASE READ THIS, EXTRA OTTER. I doubt she's aware of Phinks and Feitan approaching...except Wang informed her and she's confident enough to THINK she can kill them. Whether she knows or not, Phinks and Feitan will probably get in the way of her meeting the 3rd condition. Phinks and Feitan will do serious damage (probably kill a few members) then escape with Borksen who gives both of them all the info they need. I think Borksen's value throughout the arc will be the information she gathered and not her specialist ability. I think her escape will cause a lot of frustration for Morena and a lot of hatred towards the spiders, making her shift her priorities to them to get Borksen back. Phinks and Feitan will regroup with other spiders after martial law is called off for an all-out war in their hideout. Remember Wang was told to inform other spiders of their new objectives. I believe after the hiatus, the next batch of chapters will cover the coming together of most of the spiders and providing all the individual info they have gathered for the final battle in the final act of the succession war arc. It'll be interesting to see how Illumi and Kalluto will escape from Botobai and Mizaistorm. Maybe we'll get to see Botobai get provoked and use his ability in an attempt to rearrest Illumi and Kalluto but they'll escape. I'm thinking Shizuku and Bono will stick to helping Chrollo fight Hisoka, so Shizuku gets killed in the process of stealing a treasure for/with Chrollo. By who, I don't know. Maybe Nasubi himself. Nobunaga will be confronted by Hinrigh but Nobunaga will win his trust again after helping him defeat the 3 Hei-ily members coming for him. So, Hinrigh and Nobunaga will join the final battle against the Hei-ily. Franklin and Machi will join. So in the final battle against the Hei-ily we'll have: Phinks, Feitan, Nobunaga, Illumi, Kalluto, Franklin, Machi and Hinrigh. I believe Morena is being hyped up and developed to form the final and greatest challenge for the spiders to overcome. Readers are beginning to rate Morena over the spiders which will make the final battle balanced. The other battles in the final act will be: - Team Kurapika (Kurapika, Biscuit, Hanzo, Basho and Izunavi) vs Tserri - Chrollo vs Hisoka Lastly, we'll see these few but pivotal fights with lesser casualties... because the lesser the casualties the more characters are available for the dark continent expedition. I'm certain I'll be at least 75% accurate with my predictions.
My main prediction from last week was that martial law wouldn’t be enacted secretly (by Benjamin or whoever it was) if he had the opportunity to call it. I was partially right because there was announcement in every floor, especially geared towards citizens cause they need to be informed of what they need to do. One of the things you’d expect from martial law. Which was my main point. I think your prediction was that it had something to do with Steiner and Kaiser, because you felt Martial law would be enacted covertly by Benjamin and that Steiner would need to push a button. Frankly, I think it was a TCB translation thing because I never got that impression that Steiner was waiting to call martial law with a button cause Benjamin wouldn’t do it himself. Frankly, I didn’t get the impression the button even did that. Anyways, there’s still more to come with this prediction if you can call it that. Nothing is confirmed. I’m not gloating…yet. 😊 I also noticed you didn’t heart the martial law comment from the last video 😂 so I needed to post about martial law again.
I've heard rumblings that I heart too many comments and so they don't stand out. I'm trying to cut back... but I do read everything. Anyway, still unclear on who sounded the martial law alarm, but maybe we'll get clarity on it next week!
@ I like that you heart comments. It’s partly the reason you get so much engagement I think! People like interacting with you and want their theories heard by you. You actually get a lot of comments per viewer. For example, NWR’s recent video had 375 comments and 135,000 views. For this video you have 6800 views and 200 ish comments. If this video had 135000 thousand views you would have like 10,000 comments? I’m terrible at math but you get the idea. You get a lot of engagement cause you interact with the people commenting. So if you have time, I’d encourage you to continue.
I want to put in my prediction on which prince died to declare martial law. I believe that Luzurus is the prince that died. Sure, Kaiser and Melody couldn’t carry out their plan to kill Luzurus, but it’s quite possible that Luzurus isn’t being targeted by just Fugetsu’s faction. Not only that, but it might have to do with Halkenburg’s grand plan, as I believe he’s also targeting Luzurus. In chapter 386, Halkenburg has his bodyguard in the body of Shikaku ring Luzurus’ doorbell and then shoot themselves after someone answers the door. Why would Halkenburg involve Luzurus with testing out what happens if a person possessed kills themselves when he could just do it alone without any potential enemies getting involved? Well, I believe that Halkenburg had another reason for his actions, and that was to posses one of Luzurus’ bodyguards. In said chapter, Basho hears a rumbling coming from the room next to him, and Halkenburg’s room is right next to Luzurus’ room. Considering the circumstances and what other characters theorize what the rumbling was about like Kurapika, I believe that Halkenburg was charging his bow in that moment. Not only that, but the rumbling stops right after Shikaku shoots himself, implying that Halkenburg has fired the bow, but who’s the target he hit? Considering what Halkenburg has his the possessed Shikaku do, I believe that Halkenburg had him ring the doorbell to ring Luzurus’ room to lure a bodyguard into position for Halkenburg to fire his bow and posses them. Shikaku shouting before shooting himself could’ve acted as a signal to Halkenburg to fire the arrow, and it seems that the plan might’ve worked, as we see the the bodyguard who answered the doorbell get up from the floor after Shikaku shot himself, which we know victims of Halkenburg’s ability will fall to the floor after being hit. I believe that Halkenburg, after accomplishing with whatever he plans to do with the funeral, will send a signal to his possessed bodyguard, telling him to assassinate Luzurus and allow Halkenburg to enact Martial Law as part of his plans. Also, I’m glad that my contribution to last video made it into this video’s discussion. I’m glad that my contributions are able to provide some useful insight.
And I'm glad of your contribution too! I really should have dug up the exact comment to throw it in the vid but this was another week where I got everything done with minutes to spare (for my arbitrary noon deadline), so kind of a frantic editing process.
According to Borksen's hair right before and right after the kiss, it was, indeed, a 9-page long "makeout sesh".
11:56 these last three chapters were sooo good, i love the dynamic established here, it was so well done. in three chapters it added so much characterization to morena, through her own words, and to borksen through her actions. i love this arc so much.
Isn't it amazing how it's so interesting even without fights? No one does it better...
I have to agree, I was expecting this chapter to cut to the special martial law but we got a good conclusion this intensifying card game
That simultaneous card-flipping panel positively radiates undiluted Jojo energy.
The perspective is right out of Jojo's
I'd bet that Togashi likes and is influenced by Jojo, especially part 3. To be fair, the D'Arby the Gambler battle influenced dozens of creators.
@@tibot4228 Terror Sandwich is basically Diavollo time skip ability and megalomaniac.
@@JP-eo8zwLike that Hawk scene is a smoking gun to that Togashi is influenced by JJBA
your predictions on borkson were insane, i’m hyped for the next video
Morena is so real
The kiss was the funniest thing I’ve seen in hxh possibly ever
Wonderful to have that confirmed! Thank you!
@ very true very true
i think there is a distinction in authority between someone like borksen, who is a private guard, and kakin royal soldiers like benjamin’s. not sure tho.
How does that constitute Martial Law though?
@@friedhotwings Well Benjamin himself said that if he suspects anything happened to Balsamilco that would be enough to justify it.
I like the way you think, it actually seems like something togashi would pull
I'm so excited to see what type of specialist she becomes hopefully a counter to 4 princess Nen.
sh has to have marked the r card because that's the one she ruins later
My guess for what happened: The three Heil-ly members who were LV 51 fought Hinrigh on a public area of Tier 3 and lots of people got caught on the crossfire and killed, so authorities declared martial law to search for the surviving Heil-ly members who escaped the scene. Hinrigh probably beat their asses again
If Hinrigh fought people on tier 3 theird be a great shot nobunaga joined the battle against them
My main prediction from the beginning has been that everything going on the ship, from Morena, to wild cards like Hisoka, The Phantom Troupe, etc. have all been within expected parameters for the Succession War.
Heres a list of most theories for martial law I could find in case anyone's interested:
- Benjamin finds out (or is told purposefully by Balsamilkenburg) that Halkenburg is alive
- Kaiser-Fugetsu-Melody assassination of Luzurus is successful (less likely bc would not involve tier 3 as much)
- External assassination of Zhang-Lei/Luzurus (less likely bc would not involve tier 3 as much)
- A swapped Halkenburg guard succeds/fails in killing Luzurus, somehow alerting Benjamin that he is alive
- Unknown Kaiser shenanigans???
- Hinrigh vs Hei-ly conflict escalates to massacre (unlikely, since it wouldn't be displayed to tier 1-2 if it was the case)
- Chrollo and/or Dogman shenanigans???
Borkson is very quickly becoming one of my favorites introduced this arc, can’t wait to see where Togashi takes her in the future!
We got some François Villon-y with the "yesteryear", love it
second comment- I really wonder if it’s a coincidence that the specialist Morena is trying to recruit is a childhood friend of Tseri when there clearly seems to be bad blood between Morena and Tseri. add to that the fact that Morena surely is clever enough to see Bork isn’t entirely agreeing to an on the level alliance with her…
Glad to hear you will be doing other HxH content. I'd love it if you explained the details of the chairman election arc.
I think morena already have 21 sacrifices ready for borksen. One for the third condition and 21 ready for her to immediately awaken her ability.
"Press the button on this trash compactor lil Borkbork"
Seriously cant wait to see your thoughts on 410.
Love you man. Nobody else is making good hxh content
Its not about the Nen, theres more on that
She won't murder for nen she'll just kill for self defense ☺️
If we don’t say hiatus maybe it won’t happen
One thing that it is in my mind a lot recently after that chapter is the conversation right before they turned the cards, the words being,
(points at morenas card)
"if that's return, i die"
"if THIS is return i'll forget everything that happened here."(her card)
"alright then..." (says morena)
look that she didn't mention card X but card RETURN, meaning that by technicality she can choose yes and still leave as if she chose the card X because she and morena agreed on this, maybe bolk is trying to scam morena out of her ability and leave with it and all the info, this may br the most bananas theory of all but it's been eating my brain and i have to to mention to somewhere.
I was wondering about this. Children rebel
I was thinking about this too but it seems odd for Morena to accept it. It seems very finicky for it to end being a gotcha moment
She didn't mention X because she doesn't have it anymore...
@@Tupadre97 but she did have the R card and could have got it the X card with it
One of your best analysis yet
When I read Borken's thoughts about vows and limitatitons after Morena choose her words carefully, I thought Borksen would make an effort to make Morena lie, that way her whole nen ability would fail due to a breach of vow. It would have been a smart way to get out of the situation.
That doesn't make any sense. How are you supposed to make someone lie, especially when that very person knows that she must not lie?
@mattb.7079 duh? That is why she would need to make her make a mistake.
Who had "South Korea and Prince Benjamin Dimensional Merge" on their bingo card?
I think Volksen probably will also come to the conclusion, that someone colluded with Morena's Heil-Ly while building the ship. Maybe Volk already did
Agh, I really hope we don't get left hanging on the cause of martial law next week for all of the hiatus.
I think the big surprise will be whatever her ability will manifest with her being a specialist who probably doesn't align with the Heil-y's goals, I think the ability will be a big factor to the downfall of the Heil-y if Togashi wants to take her down that road
lfg otter always delivers
It wasn't confirmed yet, but i'm very confident about the card game being just a normal game that serves as one of the requirements of contagion.
@@flaviomadeiramirandafilho3469
It could be possible, Contagion is an extremely complex and powerful ability, so it would require a complex activation.
I really want Volksen to say yes to gain her specialist ability fast since sharing the same goal with Morena is not one of the three rules she could gain the ability than betraying them or escape than Crollo would find her and take her ability to kill Hisoka 😂
When you just don't have enough otters: an...additional otter.

The Luzurus assassination was scheduled for Thursday night (ch 403, pg 13). We’re still in the daytime of Thursday.
didnt watch the video yet, but i KNOWWWW togashi has been waiting to do a card parlor scene ever since he was accused of plagiarism in yu yu hakusho chapter black, and he finally did it! :D
what restraint this man has, but what resolve.
I predict that either Luzarus is dead, or Halkenmico took over the first prince's body and implemented martial law.
If Halkenberg did take over the body, does that mean he'd have access to his nen abilities as well?
Bc if so, then he can work on killing his henchmen for more abilities.
There is no way Togashi will kill Zhang Lei before the coins doing something.
You sure about that?
Creating a mystery that gets resolved by it becoming pointless feels like a fairly HxH maneuver, to be honest.
Post mortem nen
I think you're completely correct on the cheating analysis part, Togashi is soo good
I predict that chrollo sneaked into the upper tears and successfully stole one of the national treasures and that’s why special martial law happened
That'd be *real* quick of him
We will go back in time and see what led to this conclusion, we might get start with kurapika next chapter

Kaiji mentioned. Nice.
as a family of otters
A raft of them, really
WOOOOO CANT WAIT FOR MORE HUNTERXHUNTER CONTENT 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
Tier 3 isn't being targeted on it's own. Tier 2 required people to go to their room and wait for the MP to check in on them. Just a difference in class leniency. Or so I thought reading the chapter.
I think we Will have 2 dead princes 1 expected and 1 twist that no one sees coming like the kid or fugetsu
You can mark the card with your nail
Nobunaga death flag he’s in between the floors
nobunaga dies every three chapters or so
@ yeah but this to me seem like the set up to the death, he doesn’t have his sword so he’s nerfed, he’s between the two floors, and if you remember she says the public can get to her.
Two, no, three problems with my own theory that maybe others can help with:
-can H's partisans use his same ability? I would think an egalitarian prince like him would have an "egalitarian" group power, but I'm assuming things here.
-how did Halkenburg manage to bodyswap with Benjamin? He can fire blind through walls and all defenses, but he still needs partisans near him, the exact location of Benjamin, and the swap is random.
-the power is not very discreet and causes a huge nen rumbling felt through the whole ship. None of the nen users around Volksen seem to be distracted by something like that. (The rumbling Volsen hears is the closing of the giant stairway between levels 2 and 3)
Yo also, Bork has some very strong Kurapika vibes. Like Kurapika during the Hunter exam was very similar to Bork.
New otter video lets goo
Great video
But now i think hes deaded
(or they could have just killed the veggies, but i think thats less interesting)
kinda irrelevant but here's some stray thoughts
I suspect chrollo wants to steal zombie girl ability that disposes of corpses, so he can manipulate hisoka's body before he come back to life
what if Benjamin secret become public as kurapika intended by revealing queen oito's letter caused declaration of martial law
speaking of Benjamin, I hope Togashi reveals why he hates tserri specifically, he looks down on camilla and kinda respects halk and wants to kill him only for the throne, but he seems to genuinely loathes his younger full brother
dogman is becoming a very interesting character, I suspect beside his enhanced smelling he can has superhuman strength but only when using wrestle moves; it would be a great restriction as wrestle moves look cool but not very efficient at killing a person and some are even hurtful to the person performing them
maybe dogman joined the hei ly despite his successful wrestling career because he accidentally killed a fellow performer and got shocked when he got no backlash from it, so he realized no one's live has a value in entertainment business and become disillusioned
great video btw
I just finished reading the chapter lol.

6:55 not a reach at all ! The wording is always intentional here
Totally unrelated but thinking about Nasubi's mum. Maybe the queen goes into the 14th sarcophagus...
next chapter will be 20 pages of them making out. my dad works for togashi.
12:34 - Savage.

I miss ging 😢
the three conditions for contagion are the most important part of the reason for borksen's change of heart imo. there are three, borksen has fullfilled two. the only reason to put three in the story and leave one unfullfilled is because it is going to come up. and its the murder one...
The other battles in the final act will be:
- Team Kurapika (Kurapika, Biscuit, Hanzo, Basho and Izunavi) vs Tserri
- Chrollo vs Hisoka
Lastly, we'll see these few but pivotal fights with lesser casualties... because the lesser the casualties the more characters are available for the dark continent expedition.
I'm certain I'll be at least 75% accurate with my predictions.
I made a long comment here and it disappeared. HOW?
Luzurus Hui Gou Rou dont die pls🙏
I also noticed you didn’t heart the martial law comment from the last video 😂 so I needed to post about martial law again.
@@armstrongQB1 Will do!
