    One of the local TV news shows WMC, offered the following information. "although the river is below zero on gage, there is still water in the river".

    NO water for river food and product delivery and NO diesel fuel coming for our railroads....is someone trying to tell us something??

    Use to be a beautiful city..
    You would think that people would get tired of the crime and filth..
    Yet they keep voting the same political allegiance...
    Hate it for their children...

    Its not the first time this has happened , back in the mid to late 80s it had gotten low, and exposed old river boats. Low river......high crimes

    • @philbert006
      @philbert006 2 года назад

      Those aren't exposed because of low water. That junk is all defunct core of engineers boats and stuff from many many years ago, except the thing that looks like a steamboat. That is a casino that came from somewhere in Illinois in the late 90s and was docked in the fleet and nobody has done anything with it.

    Wow that’s amazing. I had no idea the Mississippi was that low. It’s going to get lower and lower because the drought continues.
    Thanks for this great drone video I enjoyed it very much

      This is the lower Mississippi, it regularly hits -8 feet this time of year and gets as low as -10 or -12. It will keep a negative river stage until February at least. It's got to get a lot lower than that before it causes more than just a minor inconvenience to riverboat traffic or any of the 30 or so docks here.

    We just came back from Memphis on our first trip there. I was amazed at how dirty everything is there. Kinda sad that the people who live there don’t mind it.

    • @pws3rd170
      @pws3rd170 2 года назад

      We do mind it, well at least the 98% of us that aren’t the problem. The problem is the top and bottom 1%. The bottom 1% makes 10-15% of the city unsafe by committing violent crimes and being part of gangs. The top 1%, like elites everywhere else, overall suck at their jobs.

      It's a long standing tradition here that the local politicians steal money(really that's a tradition everywhere) and they start with any money allocated towards cleanup and beautification, and they also hit it the hardest. My mother says this started in the late sixties, and has only gotten worse. Around 2005 for about ten years there was a pretty good push to clean up the city and it was quite effective and nice to see. But the people who worked so hard for it were stolen out of business and so beat down from corruption that they were forced to admit defeat. It's sad.

    What a great time to clean up areas normally under water! Sometimes a fire would make for the quickest cleanup.

    If you want to do a really cool video and I don't know if it's legal because of all the wealthy people that live there but there is a side of Memphis that few people know about and that is the canals in all the mansions located on those canals some of them probably over a hundred years old many of them abandoned but it is very interesting to me I travel through there back in the 80s from Land of course but yeah that is absolutely fascinating and it stretches out for miles when I call the hidden Memphis that nobody talks about it's a little bit like the other side of the river I bet south of Memphis there is a town by the name of Helena and it's counterpart located a few miles west known as West Helena very interesting history of these places as well anyhow keep up the good work
