both guitars are the same they're nylon string electric acoustics, the lead player is tim henson and basicaly second lead scottie lepage, tim henson was on the goons podcast with the doo and the rest of the group he's one of the best guitarist of our time same with scottie, just an instrumental band but always say they would pair great with big featured vocalists, they are their own sound.
Yeah the only differences are the color and the fretboards/inlays. Also Ibanez is going to start making these so there is that. Tim for sure also has a white one that has been seen in some of his short vids over the last years or two.
It's kinda funny when the fender acoustasonic came out people trashed it, then ichika started screwing around with his and now Tim has Ibanez jumping in on it
You should definitely listen to more Polyphia, everything they release is pure guitar pron. They're just also about to release a new album in June/July so if you like this I'm sure you'll like their previous work and most likely even the new songs.
I'm so glad you finally listened to Polyphia they are literally God tier. Please just listen to their New Levels New Devils and The Most Hated albums, they are actually legendary. I don't care if you make videos on them but please just check it out. I would recommend watching GOAT, Yas, OD, Goose, 40oz, etc.
The zoom in on the picture at the end is probably going to be their next album cover. They haven't released an album in 4 years so it is much anticipated. As you can tell it takes a lot of time to write and record a whole album of this quality. It will be worth the wait.
They’re playing the vocals on the guitar. For instance the beginning guitar solo after Tim’s intro in God is not a guitar solo! It’s simulating a🔥azz rapper coming out hard AF and dropping the first verse! After that Henson then drops the second verse. Their music is based on musicians writing ,composing and mixing all genres of music. Creating all the bass parts, vocal structures, guitar harmony’s ,hip hop rap and R&B vocals ,then playing them all at once, together on just a guitar done by one person ,or in this case ,individually buy each of the two guitar players. Polyphia simply mixes all genres of music ,their rock and rap harmonies and their vocal lyrics ,then all written, composed and played on a single guitar ,wether they’re live or in studio! It’s one man doing what a 5 piece band can barely all do together and it’s Ultra impressive to say least. Unequivocally this is next level complicated music with more emotion and structure than some give them credit for! The bottom line is It’s not just music but artistic writing and musical brilliance at some of it’s absolute finest and most genius! As a professional studio musician ,Drummer and lead guitarist I can say I both hear and feel the absolute magnificence of Polyphia! -Crisis
most of their catalog is instrumental bar 2 songs, but this album is said to have like 10 features, and only 1 of them is guitar. they WILL have rap vocals on this record and im very very excited
Bro.. as soon as you said old movie with Anthony banderas I thought “Zorro!”. Totally got that vibe after you made that connection 😂 Forgot about that movie! Loved it as a kid
As for the difference between the two guitars you asked about at around 2:00, the guitars themselves are probably about the same. The difference is what they are playing. Tim Henson (neck tattoo guy) is playing lead so you generally will hear his guitar a little louder in the mix playing more melodic while scott lepage is playing more rythmic.
The best introduction to Polyphia is GOAT. You get to see the difference in Tim and Scott's styles and actually see Clay and Clay (bass and drums) highlighted a lot more. React to GOAT.
I would say Lit is the best introduction to Polyphia. GOAT is a very one off sound when compared to a lot of their catalogue. Aviator is another great introduction song for overall Polyphia sound.
You need to also check out G.O.A.T. and Nasty feat. Jason Richardson (old guitarist for Born of Osiris). I truly believe if music wasn't so oversaturated today, Tim Henson (neck tattoo) would be the next Jimi Hendrix. His unique style pushing the limits of guitar in his own way, only Hendrix didn't have to compete with the entire internet back in the 60's. Nothing against Hendrix, just so much harder to grab attention now.
Yeah boi! Saw them live with my favourite band and it was mad! Definitely have a binge of their stuff because you will be mind blown. The Doo is amazing but Tim Henson is next level! They are mainly instrumental but sometimes feature a singer
Very good band. The picture at the end is more than likely the album art for their new album coming soon. They're all instrumental, with the exception of a couple songs with guest vocalists. I suggest checking out their song "G.O.A.T." as well as anything off their "The Most Hated" album
Polyphia is top tier. It's god level arrangement and demonically precise playing. The killer drums keep you in suspense during the empty portions and the kickass guitar and bass draws you right back in. it expands upon and loops back to previously established melody, so despite being absolutely insane it doesn't feel like total chaos. It's the same sort of hyperarrangement you'd expect from a band like Tool, minus the spiritual-psychedelic vibe and the math rock structure
Glad to see you found out about Polyphia. They're brilliant. I've been listening to them for a while. I suggest their song 40Oz next (especially the music video)
4:43 The only song off the top of my head that has singing in it of theirs is "Look But Don't Touch" which is also something you maybe could react to, let's see how RUclips feels about that one XD But the singer is a feature, so I've never heard one of the members of Polyphia sing before.
So usually in bands with 2 guitars, one guitarist plays the rhythm and the other is the lead and handles most of the soloing. For example in the Beatles John Lennon was the rhythm guitsrist and George Harrison was the lead. John never really* took a solo. In Polyphia, the band is so talented the two guitarists trade off on being the lead at different parts. But mainly the guy in the middle is the main lead and the guy on the left holds the rhythm
4:44 idk if they have more but there's this song that I will love you to react to and it's call look but don't touch witch they include vocals and melodically singing and idk if the video is gonna be taken down witch I doubt cuz it didn't got taken down when polyphia posted it but I would love to react to it also keep up the awesome work never stop this ❤️much love
the Goons (Dooo, McNasty, Blarg, Soup) have a podcast and actually got Tim Henson, Polyphia's lead guitarist on there. it was rad hearing him and Dooo talk to each other
If you listen to this one and then G.O.A.T. the difference between the guitars would be very apparent. The nylon strings have a softer, more mellow tone. Steel is going to be a brighter, more in your face tone. And you're bang-on with the Zorro thought. Nylon strings are prevalent in Spanish music/instruments. Its super interesting hearing your thoughts because you actually pick up what they are going for even though you don't have the same guitar/music theory background that some of the other music react channels rely on. We gotta get the them to do a colab with the Dooo/Marcus Veltri/Harry Mack lol
There is really no difference between the guitarists(Scott and Tim), it's not like lead and rhythm in many other bands. It's more like they share a melody. Tim says he hates Scott's parts especially live, so I guess they both have their strengths in terms of playing style. Since they do the songs digitally first and then figure out how to play them, the guitar dynamic is very unusual with these guys.

I’d prefer if they didn’t start doing vocals regularly. It lets the instruments sing their song without being overshadowed.

That entire album slaps so hard…..started leaning a few riffs from it, and Tim Henson is just not really human when it comes to guitar

4:23 If you pay close attention to the chords being played on guitar here, you can start to get an idea of how fucking genius these guys are.
tim henson is an amazing guitarist, he was part of that same fundraiser with Herman Li than TheDooo was part of.
yessssssssss i love polyphia 😭

BOTH CLASSICAL GUITARS. main middle one is a custom Ibanez made for Tim
All I could think was, "fuckin desperado!!!"
El Mariachi. The movie was Desperado.
