I really enjoy watching the cypress swamp crappie action. I've never had the pleasure so living vicariously through your exploits Cole is quite relaxing. Those fish are so huge. They blow the Colorado crappie I pursue clean out of the water. My mouth started watering and you didn't even cook them up yet! Lol. Thanks for sharing!

Great video! Wow...you got some biguns!! We used to live in Oklahoma and fished Lake Eufaula for crappie... Caught some good sized ones but never that big! Love to Jay... missed her.
I fished hard yesterday and caught one small bass. He must have been dropped on his head as a minnow to have been the only fish that bit. Fished for rainbow trout today and caught a limit in 10 minutes but they are "stockers" and even dumber than that bass. Jeeez!

Cole I just checked the Arkansas State Record for Black Crappie. A five pounder would be crazy!!! I can't even imagine. You have all the food and conditions to grow big Crappie there, you never know. I think the Yellow Bass you guys catch are just beautiful! By far my favorite coloured fish from your region. I need to check on those for size. The Yellow Bass are just I don't know, just a darned attractive fish. What I really like when you Fish in there is when you are dropping your baits or lures into those little spots in the trees. How deep was the water? I love fishing swamps. On our lake they transition to deep water in the fall/winter. Never tried fishing cypress trees in the fall.
I am not a big freshwater fisherman ad I never saw Slb Crappie until this video ive fished for Crappie in Maryland that incidentally has no freshwater lakes that are natural they are all dNR built and maintained including stocking as they are all a part of the States reservoir system for drinking water and pretty protected With no gas motors allowed a big difference to this old SouthFlorida SaltWater guy my old next door neighbor invited me out on his boat my first time imagine my surprise when he pulled up with a Aluminum Sears boat with electric trolling motors the wind picked up that day and we had to assist row to get back to the ramp big difference than running offshore in my old twin outboard 21 footer Whaler that would easily do 45 MPH

I need to bring a shorter rod in there next time. It was tough fishing. Also couldn’t keep debris off out hooks. Tons of leaves and other organic material in the water column.

It only averages around 3.5 feet out here! They’ll move out deeper once it gets cold!
