it's so interesting that most of them don't even seem very confused or weirded out by their new vision. they immediately understand that what they see now is the world as they were meant to see it
Babies/little kids are evolving their sight a lot (like my son could see 8 inches at birth and he can see across my front room now) so maybe they adjust more easily to better vision? They totally realize what they've been missing seeing.
It feels good actually. I got mine at the age of 7 and a change from blurry vision to clear vision is something soo easy to understand. Everything just looks more "Bright" and "colourful" and no way it annoyed me back then

I’m 70 and at the age of 2, I got my first eyeglasses as my eye sight was extremely bad. I STILL remember being able to see clearly for the first time!! My family cried too. I remember all of it. A miracle that I can identify with!!

I love this. As a person who’s worn glasses since I was about 4 because I’m legally blind in my right eyeI know how precious these moments are. I don’t remember a time without glasses. Neither will they.
Since 15 for me. At times, they are a pain, fogging up, slipping, etc but mostly I am thankful my vision can be corrected. I see perfectly with glasses. Not everyone's vision is fixable.
OMG I cant stop crying for all those parents All the children smiled or danced around like that little boy running around laughing. The gift of sight is one of the most important. May we cure blindness one day
I was one of these babies. I wish I could remember getting my first pair of glasses. Mom said when we got home from getting my glasses, I got out of the car, I went to the yard, squatted down and touched the grass, running my fingers up and down the blades. I must have thought it was carpet before then.
I got my first glasses at age fourteen years. I was amazed that I could see individual leaves on the trees! I discovered that my mother had some freckles... and some wrinkles! I could recognize people walking toward my by their faces, instead of their gait and body shape. And I finally understood why I was no good at any game involving catching or hitting a ball.
I'm 41 years old. I just got my first pair of glasses. Before things were kind of blurry in the distance. But it was so gradual that I wasn't aware of it. It was clear that I needed glasses when I got my eyes checked. After I put my new glasses on I was amazed at the intricate details that I never noticed before! So I can understand somewhat at what those youngsters are thinking!

Oh gosh, I wasn’t prepared 🥲. I still have a clear memory of getting my first glasses around 7. It was eye doc in a big box store and I was in awe when I looked around and realized I could see signs above the aisles I didn’t know where even there. Everything was so clear! Still an intense memory, 35 years later.
Yes! I’ve been wearing glasses since i was about five (45+ years), my acuity has fluctuated since birth. I should have had glasses as an infant, but no-one in my family thought about it, finding out i needed glasses happened by ‘accident’ (no injury). I’m now slowly losing my sight, and roughly every three months, i realize “i can’t do this as well as i did three months ago.” MUCH anger and frustration and ‘turning the air blue.’

I remember when I got glasses, i just sat outside the entire day because I could finally see the blades of grass, the individual leaves on trees, tiny pebbles, etc. I wish I could experience that again for the first time. It was magical.
It’s crazy because before having my son nothing made me cry, but now anything involving happy babies the waterworks start flowing lol. I’m such a softy now.
The little guy with red hair melted my heart. My twin boys were about that age when they got their glasses. My husband and I wept at their reaction. I’m amazed that the doctors can make a good prescription for a baby that can’t even let them know how clear anything looks to them.☀️

Most of the time they don’t need verbal confirmation whether a lense is better or worse, they really know what they’re doing.
