    The older I get, the more makeup ages me. I feel like I have almost completely abandoned powders, glittery anything, and liquid eyeliner. I focus mainly on skincare, perfecting my brows and mascara. Cream or liquid blushes. For me personally at 40, less seems to be more. I swear I can almost SMELL that cover girl foundation from here. 😂 definitely nostalgic.

      My skin is very good for my age, no texture, very few lines, but too much makeup no longer looks good on me as well. I have to apply everything with a lighter touch and be careful with powders. Still love my shimmer eyeshadows, though…but I stick to lighter shades now.

    Hey Jessica, I'm a personal color analyst, and I've been your subscriber for more than 3 years, watching you with different makeup colors and different clothing colors. I've always thought you are True leaning Bright Summer person, but never bothered to tell you that since I was unsure if you'd be interested in the concept of personal color.
    We use your natural color (eye color, virgin hair color, and most importantly skin color and undertone) to analyze what color palette is the best, second best, and worst for you.
    The reason you don't look lively, energetic but rather look more aged when you use dark eyeshadow colors is because true~bright summer needs some clarity and lightness. Clarity is opposite of muddiness / mutedness and lightness (closer to white) is opposite of darkness (closer to black). You look the best with cool undertone color that has some degree of purity. Avoid color that is mixed with gray color since the dullness from gray makes you dull, aged, and tired. That dull, muted tone such as beige or grayish color looks best for Soft Autumn person. Avoid color that's mixed with a lot drops of black color as well. It's good for Summer people to keep the makeup minimalistic. That's why you never felt like very bold, loud, colorful eyeshadow looks weren't for you. Personal color is about what you already have and how to find harmony with it. Your skin already has bright pinky undertone which means your skin already has tons of color, and you don't need more color. It's about balance, it's about harmony. Add what you lack while don't add what you already have enough. That's why neutral foundation suits you better than warm foundation. Minimalism is your friend. In fact, warm, deep color adds too much color around or on your face. For summer people, less is more. Some people can rock wearing a lot of bronzer and so much eye makeup, but that's because that person is true/deep autumn. (Kelly Gooch, another my fav youtuber! seems to be True Autumn ; her skin undertone is quite different than yours if you see her bare face although both of you are white Cauccasians.) Spring and autumn people need warmth and more energy so when they use lots of colors, colors offer what they lack. But like I said, you need some color compared to soft summer or light summer because true summer is the type of summer that needs color the most among the all summers. It's just that you don't need as much as autumn or spring people do. Keep it clean and danty, that's your charm that other seasons people don't innately have. Gentle glow when you do a makeup is recommended for as well.
    If you want to learn more about personal color in general, let me know. Or you can just google it or watch youtube videos about it.

      @lalasings1 Год назад +1

      Hello. I also do color analysis and am trying to understand what you mean by a bright summer. Usually if someone is a summer then they can only be True. Soft, light or cool. Bright is a mixture of a winter and spring. I hope you don't take offense as I'm just trying to understand the bright summer comment.

    • @eerudav8544
      @eerudav8544 Год назад +6

      @@lalasings1 hey there! No, I don't take your comment as an offense at all. Here's my explanation: some systems use Bright as another subtype of summer. Yes, summer cannot be as clear as spring nor winter, but the clearest and the strongest chroma that summer can project is categorized as Bright subtype. I know some people don't like using the word 'bright', so instead they use winter leaning summer. Hope this helps

      Sad side note: I was so devastated when her sister Krissy died. It literally turned my world upside down. I was still pretty young and it was the 1st time I realized that young people could also pass away, not just the elderly. It mostly stuck out bc at 1st they said it was asthma that caused it and I'm asthmatic. At the time I had no idea it could kill you, (like I said I was pretty young). Turns out she had a rare type of heart disease and they later thought that was more likely the cause.

That allows each of the cream products to set at each stage of the way. My makeup looks better and lasts longer.

    About dark eye shadow - as you have dark brown eyes I think you look good with the darker accent. I am older and have lighter blue eyes so I stay away from dark shadows. I think this look is great on you…even the lip.

    The blush in that flower palette is sooooo pretty! Like making its way to my fave blush everrrr! And I’m not a highlighter person per se but that highlighter is pretty if you blend in a tiny amount and go over it with a damp sponge!!

    I really like the lipstick color, especially for Fall. I think the color doesn't go well with the shirt you were wearing but with like a Fall sweater/outfit I think it will look great! It's also one of my favorite lipstick formulas so I'm gonna need to pick that up. Love your videos Jess! ❤️

    I really like that Neutrogena primer serum. It’s very hydrating for my dry skin and the shimmer doesn’t really show up after I put on my foundation. I even mix it into foundations that are too matte or dry for me. I don’t hear much about it, but it’s a great product for me.

    I feel like same about dark eyeshadow, I feel like older I get, the more I don't like dark colors around my already dark brown eyes . Light eyeshadow just seems to make my dark eyes sparkle more and looks better on my fair cool skintone with dark hair and eyes. I also don't care for brown nude lipsticks either, I normally lean to a purple Mauve and med reds.
