what does energy per unit volume of em wave intuitively mean....does it have any physical interpretation...what is the difference between INTENSITY OF E M WAVE AND ENERGY PER UNIT VOLUME of em wave?? what is the physical interpretation of poynting vector?? If one meter cube of em wave passes through an black body does it transfer A AMOUNT OF ENERGY WHICH IS EQUAL TO POYNTING VECTOR'S MAGNITUDE ?? Thank you
The intensity is the energy flowing through an area in a given time. If you have a 1 watt laser and shine it uniformly on a surface of a meter squared, then the intensity everywhere in that square is 1 W/m^2. If you make the beam narrower so it covers a square centimeter, the intensity of the beam is higher, 10000 W/m^2.
Outstanding presentation!!
Excellent presentation!!
